It will not install for me either - something about having to reinstall Windows Installer!

Maybe the GOTD offer will be extended while they fix the installer issues?

Hi All,

In hindsight, I’ve noticed many of you have trouble installing this after the antivirus has detected a Trojan virus (or simultaneously).

Coming from a trusted source, I would recommend disabling the antivirus software “while installing MS Tech Office” .... Then re enable the antivirus once the software is downloaded and installed.

Dino, could you explain to us what do you mean by a trusted source?
Are you talking about GOTD, or Software publisher?

None of the shortcuts or start menu links work; there is Not any "Word" "Application" in the Program Files (86) folder; repair resulted in working Start Menu links Except for "Word" which, again, failed -- the other links worked, but not the desktop shortcuts; however, making shortcuts from the program folder in Program Files (86) did provide working shortcuts Except for "Word" and there still is not any "Application" for "Word" in the program folder. I tried to get the free trial and that resulted in an email that indicated to use the link in the email, however, there is No link in the email. Further, trying to contact this company by email results in notices that the emails could not be delivered and the addresses are not valid.

Same as Mick. except that it's Windows Security that first marks the "setup" file as containing a malicious file and then deleting (quarantining?) the file, leaving only the README available.

Windows Defender shows no deletions of files with today's date.

Ah is corn-foosed.

A company whose offerings, coincidentally(!), always have a huge amount of thumbs-up ratings without any like comments to substantiate them! That plus a website that tells absolutly nothing about the company makes me avoid installing anything they offer.

Additionally, there are so many good free Office suites from known, reputable companies (LibreOffice, OpenOffice, Ashampoo Office Free, SoftMaker, WPS, etc.) available.

Thanks GOTD but no thanks!

The software lacks a crucial feature that I do not see available on any sub-menu: There is NO format-painter brush, like in all other modern office software. I use that feature CONSTANTLY and cannot live without it. Note that the presentation app is merely a READER; you cannot create slides/content. Heck, Microsoft may still have a free "reader," so what is this software needed for? Ditto the PDF "READER." The software is a little awkward and feels like it's still in beta testing. Still 32-bit. I removed the prior version from GAoTD for that reason. This one is a little better, but doesn't seem ready for prime time yet. For home use, I'll continue to test it. Thanks GAoTD.

happy to get this at discount so thank you for that savings on my budget . some things noticed so far and will mention just a few here . have to say after paid for it their link provided to download app did not work at all . it failed to work tho tried a half dozen times . had to get a trial version . could find no manual or instruction or howtos anywhere not on their website nor inside app itself . made several sample documents to find that app cannot have more than one document open at a time . app defaults to save as docx and can find no way change this since no preferences options . still it works ok as an option tho not a replacement for the big guy . received instantly by email after purchase an activation code . mg office home took 60 sec to activate it with an actual countdown shown in percents . makes me wonder what going on that it takes all of a whole minute . just comparing this long activation time with many of my other apps that took split second once code entered . tried their pdf reader and find it did not accept even small drag and drop files into it .

I wonder if anyone from MSTech can offer an explanation?

When I attempt to install today's giveaway of MSTech Office Home 2.0.1 it is immediately deleted ... or rather, quarantined, with the following information:

"Threat secured
We locked Setup.exe in your Quarantine because it's infected with malware."

"Threat name: FileRepMalware [Misc]
Threat type: Malware - This is malicious software that could harm your data, computer, or network.
File path: D:\MSTech Office Home v2.0.1 (GOTD)\Setup.exe"

Opening a second word file autmatically closes first file without saving or warning.
Click on do not check spelling and grammar dos not work. Every new word written will be marked red. Chosing another spell language also does not work
If file is open by another tool there is no warning, but when saving the file with MG Office there is an ugly crash.
