For the register issue several days ago, we're so sorry, it is because our server had an issue that made the registration failure on that giveaway day, very sorry, so we contacted giveawayoftheday.com and re-open the giveaway day.

And for uninstalling, generally you can easily uninstall our program, don't open the program, and click windows menu "Start"->"All Programs"->"Longo Blu-ray Copy"->left click "Uninstall Longo Blu-ray Copy", it can uninstall our program completely, if some files or folder hadn't been deleted, maybe the files or folder were locked abnormally when uninstalling, after you restart your computer, you can try to manually delete them, if you still have any problem, please directly contact our support team support@longodvd.com to fix this issue, we will reply you in 24 hours.

Sorry. to copy blu-ray DVD, you must have a bluray drive, because a regular DVD drive can't read bluray DVD, so my program can't read data through the drive.

Need to change User Interface!
Source browser cannot browse to Network Attached BDROM drive.
Just like all programs of this type, the user interface needs to be changed, so that both the source and destinations use the newer windows type browser in the "Browse To" pop-up window, so that the path can be copied and pasted into the browser field.
When entering the source, it is impossible to browse on the network, period, even though the network is presented as an option. When selecting "Network", the list of network devices is never returned.
Beyond that, the program installed and registered easily on both Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 12 server computers.
Thank you Longo and GOTD for letting us try this program out.

About version, it is because Longo bluray copy was just v2.4.1 when the web giveawayoftheday.com contacted us, it needs some time to prepare before the giveaway is really opened, during this time, we upgraded our bluray copy to v3.0.0.

Can I place a blu-ray dvd in my regular dvd player and just copy the blu-ray movie to external storage drive using your software?
DO you need a blu-ray dvd drive to do this?
Just have a ibm t 82 laptop with regular dvd, cannot afford a new computer on an extemely tight budget.
that is why I am on freeware sites right now, it's all I can afford.

@12 (whynot) Screenshots do not mean it's going to be a horrible program or not. I downloaded mainly because of all the criticism and gave it a try. 10 bluerays, all 2013 releases. Every one copied for me. Then uninstalled, because as stated before, I really have no use for it. So it has a simple gui, that just means it's simple for people like me to use :) As for it being to expensive (a popular complaint here) IT'S FREE!! Are you really so broke you can't afford a FREE program? If this was a program I would use, I totally agree with #22 (NruRice) With the way things are advancing in this field, updates are an absolute MUST! BTW, all 10 copied in 6 hours total, give or take a few minutes. Thank you again Longo Software for letting us try this out :)

Downloaded and installed in my XPS 15 notebook with Win 7 Home 64 without problems.
Worked fine however why just Blu-Ray disks?
And I do not have a Blu-ray burner in my notebook what make this software somewhat unuseful.
And the price ($69,99) is totally unrreal.
Maybe, $19,99 or $9,99 should be more adequate.
Thanks GAoTD.

Well This is version 2.41 but on there website there is already a version 3.0. I did download today's Version as I did the other day when there was so many problems with that one GOTD and the developer had to take it down This works so far I did find it did not work with 2 Bluerays because of the DRM. But I do give this a thumbs up but wonder why they offer a lesser version.

This program seems to use some sort of online resource to get decryption keys for each disk. So far, I'm 1/2 for disks I've tried. One popped up a message that it couldn't find a key for it. I like that the 'Main Movie' option lets you choose just the soundtrack you want. The copy process takes a long time though - nearly an hour.

#15: I’m just curious as to why all of these DVD Copy & Ripping sites and user interfaces all look nearly identical. Are they just a small group of coders that set up affiliate programs? It seems like every few weeks there is a new vendor that pops up with the same piece of software. I’m sure this application does what it says and does a pretty good job at it. But it just always feels suspicious to me every time I open the vendors link from above and get that repeated site design.

I suspect another group of programers just graduated (or they figure that everyone needs a program like all the other guys are promoting). But either way we appreciate the offers and GOTD.

#15: "I’m just curious as to why all of these DVD Copy & Ripping sites and user interfaces all look nearly identical."

I think part of it is the same sort of thing as office apps like word processors that for the most part look similar -- if something works, why change it? I think another part of it, liking & using a particular sort of design might be cultural, since you can't produce this sort of app in the US or EU -- Real tried years ago with a DVD converter that they had to pull within days, so most of this software comes out of China. Another part of it I think may also be related to culture, since it doesn't seem Chinese developers feel a need to have a unique look, at least to the extent some western coders do. And yes, sometimes devs do copy someone else's work, but generally individual programs are different software -- just look at the files that make them up.

FWIW, in case it helps...

Blu-Ray video discs [& to a lesser extent video DVDs] use constantly evolving DRM, which means the dev work behind copiers & rippers never ends. Just testing to make sure the software works with each week's crop of new releases I'd imagine gets pretty expensive, especially as DRM can vary by region, so you might need more than one copy of each disc. And consistently working with the latest discs is really where copiers compete -- one ripper may transcode [i.e. convert] a movie better or faster than another, but there's not much tech behind copying files from a disc to your hard drive... one apps' generally going to be just as fast at it as any other, so if you read someone can copy a disc faster than you can it normally has nothing to do with whatever software's being used.

Long story short, if you buy the latest releases as soon as they come out, you'll likely wind up paying for the software you use to back up or convert those discs, though some companies do offer free, often more limited versions of their copiers, while they're trying to build their reputation for timely & consistent updates that keep pace with new DRM. If you wait until the movies have been out for a while & pick them up on sale, you might be able to get away with the free stuff.

As far as copying your movie discs rather than using a ripper goes, a copier lets you backup your discs to protect your investment, it lets you use sometimes better, sometimes faster software for any conversion, and that copy can retain all the menus & special features on the original. You can also strip out the movie, keeping the original quality, & put it in another container [often MKV] that'll work with media players -- usually very small boxes that connect to your TV via HDMI, so you can store those discs you bought out of the way in the back of the closet. Lots of people store all their movies in one place that way, then use media players throughout their home that access those movies over their home network.

Using a ripper OTOH is almost always the easiest route if you want to reduce the amount of storage space needed &/or cut the frame size down to something your cell or tablet can handle. Note that those media player boxes I just talked about take a big jump in price [from ~$30 to $100 minimum] if you want to use the original Blu-Ray video vs. converted video using a bit rate of 12 or less. Note also that some discs use unbeatable Cinavia protection, but it only works if/when the player knows to look for it -- all newer, Blu-Ray licensed players [both software & stand-alone boxes] look for Cinavia, but [currently] media players do not... backing up your discs by burning a copy isn't always going to work.

That all said, the way to judge how well software like Longo Blu-Ray Copy works is by user reports, & preferably lots of them -- the average person simply doesn't have enough time to try it on every new disc coming out every week, if they wanted to. OTOH if you price a year's subscription from the 2 bigger name companies, SlySoft & DVDFab, the upgrade pricing from Longo is IMHO pretty generous.

Hard to say if this is going to be good, because to keep up with the industry updates must be priority for this kind of software.

It looks like its fine for the time being, backed up a older flick.

uninstalled.

best alt imo = Slysoft AnyDVD, and CloneDVD2. works great on dvd n bluray's. http://www.slysoft.com

Similiarity of DVD etc. copy software:
They all originate in the same big asian country and perhaps (?) it's some strategy.

By the way registration, copying etc. all need internet connection, additional to allowing GOTD's Themida setup. But as all people in the world are nice now and forever you should allow this to every softwhere anyway. Have a nice computer!

I hope that most of the very quick ratings after a program is introduced here on GoTD are from people who have actually used the program before. The problem is that may not have used the same version being released here.

Well, despite its ridiculous low rating, today's giveaway seems to me a very good and easy to handle software, with a clean GUI as well.
And as I can see it's very fast too to clone a disk....
I've just copied a pretty OLD bluray movie of mine with no hassle, so I'm not 100% sure whether or not it can really remove any DRM protection (including the latest ones) as described on the above blurb.

THUMBS UP from me!

XP-Man -- Thanks for the alternatives! I'll also try Longo Blu-ray Copy 2.41, but it's always good to have options. Right now I'm successfully using Aiseesoft Blu-ray Copy (that I downloaded from Giveaway of the Day awhile back) to copy 3D blu-rays.

Not surprised really as there is no shortage of free programs of a similar nature.

Sorry, we suggest "50GB free space" because usually a bluray DVD is about 40GB, to copy a bluray DVD, your hard drive needs the free space that can save the bluray DVD data. There is no problem to install our program(just about 16MB requried to install our program), if you just have 40gb free space left, you still can copy a bluray DVD less than 40GB to hard drive or bluray disc.

Oh My....i quote: system requirements-at least 50GB free space...
I unfortunately will have to bow out on this giveaway owing to the fact that my compy is an older XP unit and the hard drive is only 80 gigs. With the operating system and the numerous other giveaways i already have 40 gigs used up. Installing this program would not be possible.
Guess it is time to update...but still...50 gigs ?? I cannot ever recall other giveaways that even remotely command that much space..

Actually, the rating system isn't just reflecting votes that happen right now....I think whatever we see is leftover of all the ratings the last time items were given away. And then I think all the current ratings get "included" into the overall ratings that item has gotten for all the times it's been offered before. Asraf, please correct me if I'm wrong.
