My Office 7 doe not export to video. So this would be useful. But the size of the app on my device is so small I can't read the instructions even at full magnification.

I clicked on setup.exe, "Activating..." panel springs up, then "Successfully Activated" panel springs up, I click on Close.
Then I'm taken to GOTD page saying program was successfully activated.
But program wasnt installed?

What is the probability there will be any update within 1 year seeing as there has not been any in the past 4 years, exactly the same version was offered July 25, 2019 and August 30, 2017 and July 22, 2016 for 2.8.0 see the Publisher link in the giveaways information panel to see all the previous giveaways of this exact version going back nearly 4 years!

The good thing about this utility is it permits us to choose which Microsoft power point renderer we have installed either a full powerpoint program or one of the free Microsoft powerpoint viewers. Some will complain that it does not support using 3rd party supposedly powerpoint compatible programs but for me that is a non-issue as most of these are not really powerpoint compatible in their rendering and most of them mess up some of the powerpoint objects apearence in some way and supporting the always free powerpoint viewer that is made to render powerpoint presentations the same as the full program has to be the best option.

Note that the button to download the powerpoint viewer from Microsofts website returns a 404 error page so there's an opertunity to release a new minor version upgrade using a new URL on Microsofts site or an archive.org link from Microsofts past.
I am 99.9 recurring % certain that the APP version of PPTX viewer will not work with this desktop program due to incompatabilities between desktop applications and metro/MS so called universal Apps from their appstore.

archived copies of the powerpoint viewer installer are available at:

Whatever I do with AVG I cannot get the installation program to run. I have given up on other GAOTD installations for the same reason.

Any advice? Thanks

With the built-in functionality of PowerPoint to save files as videos and a ton of GAOTD video converter software out there one may ask "With PowerPoint, what is the point of this software?!"

As far as I can imagine, this software would be needed only by those who use some non-MS Office software like Open Office or Apache Office etc for presentations.

Hari, What if somebody has MS PPT 2010 license only? He/she will still need this software! I have used this before. Good conversion capability although not so good with a bit complex animations.

From Powerpoint 2013 you have been able to export to MP4 and WMV, which covers any device that would need to play video.

So realistically I can't see when I would practically use such a third party product as at $69.95 it's going to have to come up with something really persuasive to make me want to consider spending that much money.

PhilS, You are assuming that a person having MS office does have a license for 2013 and up. I have Office 2010 only; so, this SW may still be useful. On top of that, if you use WPS Office (I have it in another PC), Apache OpenOffice or LibreOffice, you still need this.
