Do you mean the program failed to detect your USB SD card when building a Lazesoft boot disk?
Did you try to use the Data Recovery or Disk Image & Clone module in Lazesoft Recovery Suite to check the SD Card?

Program appears functional with Win XP Home and Pro as well as Win 7 Home Premium.

BUT NOT functional with Win 10 Home Premium
- after a struggle it seems to have registered; however, NONE of the other "buttons" would function. Tried reinstalling several times with the same result. (By the way, this was the first computer that this program was loaded on.)

Is this unique to my computer and a generic problem?

For those of you that can afford it, buy a second hard drive and clone your main drive onto it. I do this monthly, and create an image weekly. I learned the hard way by using a backup program in April, and when the power cut out and my battery backup failed in June, everything downloaded, installed, or created since April was gone. This software looks very promising. Until now I've used the free Macrium Reflect to make the clone and image. Whatever you use, be sure to test your clone or image as well as any bootable CD you make.

This is for your information only if you are using XP.

I think the software does not allow you to make a Win PE boot disc for XP.
There is no such choice in the:
WinPE Options

Specify WinPE Version

Windows 7 32 bit PE
Windows 7 64 bit PE
Windows 8 32 bit PE
Windows 8 64 bit PE
Windows 8.1 32 bit PE
Windows 8.1 64 bit PE

In addition, if you have SATA hard drives, you may or may not be able to see them after booting with the boot CD.
You may have to add drivers before you make the boot CD.

Add WinPE Drivers
Add custom WinPE drivers

If your hard disks or RAID disks are not recognized, please click If you have any question, please feel free to contact us at support@lazesoft. com.

Very satified with this suite. The data recovery part of the suite underestimates its abilities to recover files; all files with status "Lost" could be recovered in working order in the tests I did on an usb drive and an harddisc. Lazesoft Recovery Suite Pro 4.1 is my first choice in datarecovery from now on. Thank you GOTD and Lazesoft!

Great program. Installed easily on both Win 7 and Win 8.1. Created both boot cd and boot USB easily with no problems. UI very easy. Helped me recover a laptop with a forgotten password. Since everything ran so smoothly, the only viable suggestion I can make at this point is to have a desktop shortcut added. It took me a second to figure out which link in the start menu was the program and which was the boot disk builder, so a desk top icon to the program would just make it that much easier to access. Again, great program. Will definitely use and suggest to associates.

Can this be installed on a thumb drive or are there Registry issues (etc...) to worry about? Since recovery software is not supposed to be installed on the PC with the problem (especially if you cannot boot it!) then what is the preferred way to install it?

Installed fine on Windows 7 x64.
But on trying to create a recovery iso, it worked for several minutes and finally gave this error :
"Failed to create WINPE file".
Where do I go from here?

It seemed the WIM file was corrupted. Please try to move the sub folders in the C:\Recovery folder to another folder. Then run Lazesoft Media Builder to create a boot disk or ISO file again.

C:\Recovery is a hidden folder, to access it. Please open cmd.exe with administrator right.

If you need more detailed steps or still get the problem after the above steps, please contact us at, "support@lazesoft.com".

You can try to launch the program in the start menu, All programs->Lazesoft Recovery Suite-> Lazesoft Recovery Suite Professional Edition.

The main program of Lazesoft Recovery Suite is ifsui.exe. You can find the ifsui.exe in the installation folder, such as "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lazesoft Recovery Suite”. The ifsui.exe in the subfolder, winpedatax64\lazesoftapp, is 64 bit. The ifsui.exe in the subfolder, winpedata\lazesoftapp, is 32 bit.

Upfront apologies for my stupid questions, but I hope it's not too late for some knowledgeable users to be willing to help me.

I've never built a bootable WinPE CD, solely relying on system backups — which failed me twice.

1) Am I obliged to create the bootable medium today only (i.e. right after installing the Lazersoft suite, and before the GOTD promotion is over)? It's just a matter of whether I might manage to get some sleep.
2) My main working PC is a Windows 8.1 but I also have an old XP laptop; the latter won't connect to the Internet, though it does see my modem! Could I make a WinPE disc – additionally perhaps,– for that XP too, on my Windows 8.1?

Thanks for any eventual assistance.

Reply   |   Comment by Ioannis  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+14)

It will make a recovery disk that is not specific to Windows version, this is the default setting.
From install to create bootable disk only took about 15 min but I do have a pretty decent download speed. This is the only part that took any time, that is downloading WinPE.
Best of luck.

Reply   |   Comment by XP-Man  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

1)No, you can create bootable medium whenever you want, the important thing is that you keep registration name and registration key contained in readme.txt, because they may be asked before creating the bootable cd.
2)Yes, you can create varius bootable medium based on whatever windows versions you want, indipendently from the windows version you are running (e.g. you could also create a windows 7 version bootable disk even if you don't have windows 7, to help a friend whose pc does't boot).

No, you don't have to make the WinPE disc today; just make sure you install and register the program before the deadline...then burn the WinPE disc whenever you like.

You can make separate WinPE discs for each version of windows that you have on various machines. Just run the Burn WinPE process multiple times, each time selecting the desired OS. Hope this helps.

One question I have, can the clone function work even if there is a bad block on the HDD? For example I have tried MANY cloning programs but the only one I have found that do not simply DIE/STOP when they encounter a bad block is Clonezilla (well in recovery mode anyway). Sure it takes a long time when there is a bad block, but heck it works. Every other cloning tool I have tried fail once they hit a bad block no matter what settings are used.

As for suggestions I would say if this ability is not there, to add it (a full clone/recovery option even if there are bad blocks). The other feature I would suggest (if you don't have it already that is) the ability to identify what files are affected in a bad block. Or even better a attempt recovery several times (or as long as the user wants to attempt recovery) then give a option to have the HDD swap the bad block for a spare. Which will make cloning easier/faster (or at least have the drive in a better condition until replaced).

Lazesoft Recovery Suite supports to clone hard disk with bad sectors. To clone hard disk with bad sectors, you need to check the option "sector by sector" on the selecting source disk page.

We will consider all your suggestions. Thank you & Best Regards,

Looks comprehensive. However, since a paid software Acronis is already in my PC, perhaps best not to complicate matters by adding another system recovery software. More is not always better in software. Sometimes it may or may not affect your existing software. Not too sure about the Windows Administrator Account password recovery. Can it really do that?
Though that Windows Administrator Account password is usually a {blank} which is default when you install the OS?
As for MBR, you can use some freeware tools.

This installs and works easily on Win 10 Pro! Registration went well! Copied and pasted reg info from notepad! I was able to build a rescue boot flash key with Win PE choosing the Win 8.164 bit version and found that it booted my PC well with your interface.

This recovery suite looks polished and has more options and abilities than most all that I have seen here @ GOTD and I am glad to have it! After trying a number of the options I am recommending this for my FB friends. Thank you and have a good d!ay

Would like to make this suggestion for improvement of your software =-- could not get the "feedback section" to take my comments Then came here (I always read what the people here say while making my own decision on trying/keeping an offering) and found your comment about feedback not working. I would like to submit my offering for your contest for free lifetime upgrades. Thank you.
-------------------------------------------------------
Soon I will upgrade to Windows 10. I will also keep Win 7 as a secondary OS -- I therefore humbly suggest your Suite of excellent recovery items (specifically the bootable CD/DVD/USB item be built to allow a recovery/restore for machines that allow TWO (2) different OS (Operating systems on one machine so folk like me can choose which Os/hard drive area with which they wish to use your software. i.e. - If I have problems with my Win 7, but can only access Win 10 with your program/bootable usb it would be of no help. So even if the only way I could do so with your software, would be to make two (2) different USB/DVD recovery options - I would happily do that (make two different restore items if necessary) rather than be "locked out" of one of my operating systems because your program could only access one particular given OS. MIND YOU! Having your wonderful recovery suite make both OS options on one recovery device would be even more fantastic. That is my suggested improvement. Thank you.

This looks like a quite a comprehensive program that gives you pretty much all the features that you would like to see under one umbrella.

Windows recovery
Data recovery
Disk imaging and cloning
Disk partitioning
Password recovery
Bootable media with choice of PE environments.

This is something that will take some time to fully test with all the features that it contains but from a perspective of tool set options, it looks mighty impressive and the vendor has to be congratulated for recognising that all the appropriate tools in one suite demonstrates a more professional way of thinking and as long as each tool does it's job then it would have to be recommended over having to have a bunch of one trick pony solutions.

Leave Feedback isn't functioning so I'll leave it here.

Tested under Win 7 64U. The entire suite appears to be of extremely high quality. I particularly like the UI.

The module I tested was to recover Windows password, The making of the book CD went quickly and painlessly. I very much liked that the software never left me in doubt about what it was doing.

After making the CD, I booted into the PE environment and chose to recover Windows password. The program correctly identified the user accounts and that they were password protected.

Clicking through the Recover Password routine bought me to a screen where it seemed to me that I should enter new user ID's and/or passwords in the blank text box field. Neither was possible due to the fields being disabled.

This was my first area of confusion in the otherwise excellent UI. Throwing caution to the winds, I clicked to Recover Windows Password. I expected that the program would display the current passwords but instead it just said the password was 'recovered'.

I got very nervous wondering if I'd somehow set an unknown password in Windows. Re-booting Windows 7 showed that the program had been stripped of all passwords.

This is fine but the UI should say "Passwords Removed' and not "Passwords Recovered" to lessen the anxiety the latter creates in a user.

That's my experience and suggestion.

Hi atarul,

Thank you for your comment.

Did you try to select the Windows target version on the welcome page of Lazesoft Media Builder when building the Lazesoft boot disk?

If you did not, please try to choose the target version as Windows 10 when building Lazesoft boot disk.

The following are the detailed steps to choose the Windows target version as Windows 10:
1. Click the "Create CD/USB Disk" button on the home page of Lazesoft Recovery Suite to run Lazesoft Media Builder.
2. On the welcome page of Lazesoft Media Builder, select the target Windows version as Windows 10.
3. Follow the wizard to create a boot disk.

If above steps still do not work, please send the log file, lsmediabuilder.log, in the Lazesoft installation folder, for example, ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Lazesoft Recovery Suite’ or ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Lazesoft Recovery Suite\winpedatax64\lazesoftapp’, to us at, "support@lazesoft.com". We will analyze the log file and give back to you with the solution. Thank you.

The license of Lazesoft Recovery Suite Professional Edition is valid for lifetime. There is no annual-fee.

You can use the Giveaway version and license for lifetime. The Giveaway version only has the following limitations:
1) No free upgrades to future versions
2) Strictly non-commercial usage

Am I missing something here? This is NO annual-fee software as far as I can see: no limitations are mentioned anywhere (on their website there is also no annual fee plan on the software they offer). A year plan would also be very strange for datarecoverysoftware would´nt it?

Please advise, where does it say it's an annual license, thanks.

When I put in the reg code, I get a registration code is invalid pop up. I copied it from the read me file. Is there something else I need to do.

Make sure that there is no space before or after the name.
I had this issue too, but because there was a space when I pasted the name.

Thanks for the answer of Poisson Rouge. The middle space is the normal issue.

After launching Lazesoft Recovery Suite, please copy the registration code and name into the register page for registration.

If this steps still do not work, you can take a screenshot of the error window and send the picture to Lazesoft support team, support@lazesoft.com to get a quick support.

To users who had the register problem,

Please paste the Registration name in the file, Readme.txt, into the Name input box on the registry page.
And paste the Registration key in the file, Readme.txt, into the serial number on the registry page.

Thank you & Best Regards,
Lazesoft Support Team

Good software that can be useful one day, provided that we create the rescue disk before. Must be testedt in all its functions.

I suggest to the developer to change the colors of the interface or the text color. A white text is not very readable on a light color.

Thanks Giveaway and Lazesoft.

Think the developer talk good care of this as when the mouse is moved over the colour scheme changes to black text on a white background.

another alternative is to go in in safemode and remove or change the password to regain access. then install a new password

Installed and registered, needed to enter registration data twice, second time when building bootable CD/DVD.
Set it to a bootable medium for XP, after starting informed me it was downloading WinPE and then building the disc continued without a hitch.

A few points, it didn't give me the opportunity to put a link on the desktop, everything went into the start menu not something I use.
The link that opens the main screen is called Lazesoft Recovery Suite Professional Edition.lnk.

Although I haven't had chance to really test this software my impressions from looking around are very, very favourable. For instance the disc clone interface is most attractive and easy to use with pleasingly bright colours and easy to read text. It has some interesting tools such as Check Disk, and Initialise MBR disk, Initialise GPT disk. Also on the page are a number of options for cloning.

On top of all this it has a really good help file, obviously I cannot fully test its functionality, but from the look of the interface and the obvious care that has been taken in its design this is most definitely a keeper!

Does this come with a lifetime license? If not, what happens if the license expires and I've made a drive image. Can I still access the image?

I suggest you build a boot disk first by clicking the on the home page of Lazesoft Recovery Suite. The license of Lazesoft boot disk will never be expired. So, you always have the boot disk to access or recover the image.
