For those lamenting the lack of ability to shrink to a single sided DVD, you can get the giveaway to rip to your hard drive, and then use DVDShrink to shrink to fit a normal DVD

Great program. Been using WinX-DVD-Copy for years. In fact several years ago it was WinX DVD that brought me to GAOTD. Today installed and tested on Windows Vista SP2 32-bit and tested the program with random DVD. I completed the copy successfully.

At first I was unable to install the program on the Vista PC. As with other recent GAOTD offers, I could not complete the installation - kept getting "Unable to connect. Try again later" error. A Google search resulted with a suggestion that the problem was an issue with Internet Explorer. One of the GAOTD forums recommended going to the settings in IE Internet Options under Tools, selecting the Advance tab, and then selecting the Reset Internet Explorer Settings button, clicking on Apply. After rebooting IE I was able to isntall the program. Thanks GAOTD

I have Win XP SP-3, but plan to get a new computer with the latest Windows. If I install WinX DVD Copy Pro today & buy the lifetime upgrade, will this still apply on the new machine? Would I use the same registration key?

Most movies are larger then 4.7 GB. Compression would alow to burn
movie to a single Disk.

This product v. 3.6.5 has no compression. Therefore, you can't burn a
typical Movie to a single Disk. Other producs have this feature. I know
because I have this product. Help file says: "1:1 Copy DVD to DVD D9 to D9 (8.5 GB), D5 to D5 (4.7 GB); DVD-/+R (DL), DVD-/+RW (DL), DVD RAM"

Downloaded and unzipped, including the .gcd file as required. Obtained my free key. When I run the Setup.exe file, a window pops up that says "Activating". Then it closes and another pops up that says "Successfully activated" and tells me to visit the "Halloween" site to activate my free copy. When I close that, my browser opens to giveawayoftheday page saying "Activated"

But that's it. I am never asked for the key. Nothing installs. There is no icon on my desktop to run WinxDVD. It does not appear on my start menu program list. Nothing ever happens except these dialog boxes and no installation.

Downloaded and installed in Win10 PC without a problem.
Good fast cloning tool and ISO creator.

DVD copying , From PcWorld:
"Be aware, however, that according to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) this is both legal and illegal. Copying is fine for the purposes of backup, while breaking the copy protection is not. Yes, a conundrum.

It's unlikely that the Feds will bust down your door to haul you in for backing up your disc or converting it for viewing on your phone or tablet. Now if you tried selling a thousand copies, that's another matter."

When you say I can use this to mount an ISO image, does that mean that this software makes it possible to play the video from an ISO image in my media player?

Reply   |   Comment by Brett  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Yes Brett, it will! However, it's a lot more weight than an mp4.
So, what you want to do is get a converter and change it to mp4.
I use VLC media player. Works Great!

If the gotd was able to make a useable ISO; yes it can.
Rightclick on the ISO and select "Mount image to drive with WinX"; this will install a virtual dvd drive with the (iso of the) dvd loaded (with its own driveletter). You can select this virtual dvd drive in any media player and you should be able to play the dvd. Rightclick on the virtual dvd drive and click "Eject" to unload. Media player must be able to play dvd´s of course...

You indicate it has access to all regions. I was given some DVD's that are not my region; I have never been able to play them. Will this software allow me to copy them and output to a different (or "no") region? Thanks!

I am interested in knowing this as well

Reply   |   Comment by PJ  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

No need. You can buy a DVD player and then unlock the region, so that you can play DVD of any region. It is simple.

A nice clean interface, but I can't find a Settings screen.
The installation program let me install the software on my preferred hard drive, but I see the working files are all being written to my C drive. I would like to change this path so I can keep my C drive "clean".

I like that it allows me to write and mount ISO files. This lets me use a hard drive instead of multiple DVDs.

The interface is very clean and not intimidating like some media software I have seen.

Installed easy @Win7 64. wanted to extract a DTS stream off an ISO file I've mounted (to send directly to my main system).. no go, got a 0-sized file. AC3 extraction worked flawlessly :)

I've been using their product WinX DVD Author for my camcorder videos to DVD creating several years, undoubtedly pretty much potent freeware. This DVD copier seems fairly proficient at bypassing strong commercial copy protections. Hmmmm.... I'd like to prepare some blank DVDs and start my DVD backup, albeit I'm not the type of people who are wary of DVD scratches and somewhat natural dampness. Why not to try trusted professional DVD copy software? :) Many Thanks for WinXDVD and GAOTD.

Two Thumbs Up! Installed and registered on both Win 10 and Win 7 machines no problem. I copied a homemade DVD originally made on a Panasonic DVD Video Recorder. It was a TV show 2 3/4 hr long so It was originally recorded at LP speed in order to fit to a std disk. (Yep, that's right. The recorder is capable of 3 recording modes.) I tried to copy the original disc yesterday with another DVD copy software and it failed miserably. The timing of this GOTD was perfect. In just a few minutes I made a dup of the original. There may have been some quality loss due to the length of the video, but it's still a copy good enough for my purposes. THANKS GOTD!

Wow, the new version seems to offer a faster processing time. It just takes one-third time of my DVD's duration(about 20 -30 minutes). Amazing! I tried some old little-scratched DVDs with it. Well, it indeed completes the backup process but with some parts missing. Would it be better if I choose a smaller number when asked about how many sectors to jump when meeting bad sectors? Anyway, I appreciate the copying speed.

This DVD copier is one of the better ones...
Very easy to use, the only thing it lacks is the ability to shrink a DVD9 into a DVD5.
Once you develope the shrinking or splitting option to the software, it's a must.

Reply   |   Comment by Slaikka  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

Well with all due respect.. and I totally respect your opinion.. for the price it lacks function.

As I have stated in a previous post there is no Main Movie only option or Compact to DVD 5...

On this bases I really do not think it is one of the best... in fact I would say one of the worst ;)

Reply   |   Comment by Andrew Peters  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-20)

I believe this is the same program I had on a previous computer that died recently so I no longer have that program. When I used that program to copy to a DVD-5 there was not a specific "shrink" option but when it saw that the output DVD was a DVD-5 it popped up a message that said the entire disk would not fit on a DVD-5 and asked if I wanted to only copy the main movie and shrink it to fit on a DVD-5. That always worked for me.

Reply   |   Comment by Dave  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+25)

Dave commented to Slaikka's post that he "believes" this pgm does have ability to shrink to DVD5. Can anyone confirm? I have satellite access and bandwidth is limited so do not want to download just to find out it won't shrink.

Thank you!

Cannot see any ability to:

1: Compact to DVD 5
2: Select main movie only

If this is correct then this is not worth anything.

If I have got this wrong then I am happy to be corrected.

Works really well. I have a large DVD collection and need to burn some of the most precious to another place for protection and storage. This software gives me enough choices on that matter. If I remember correctly, it enables users to clone our DVD to another DVD disc, an ISO image or a MPEG-2 file. The output graphics are very clear and nearly the same as the original DVD. Thank GOTD again for bringing such an excellent product.

My laptop just got through a clean install of Windows 10. As a result I chucked a stock of rarely used DVD video software, considering the compatibility. This DVD copier entirely get along well with my Windows 10, performs smoothly so far. The process engine backup a piece of my newly DVD and costs about 12 mins, praiseworthily no quality loss! Sure here a five-star upvote, and I'll keep the program for a scrutiny using in Windows 10.

Love your program and have a question. @Winxdvd, just followed your tips on Share to Win campaign, hope my share get your notice and hope I am lucky to be one of the winner to get the full version.

And when offering the full codes, some manufacturers will give us a so-called full, which actually is 1-year license or full for the current version.

New at using your DVD copy program, hope there will be tech support assistance as well~

I am leaning towards the $9.95 offer (because the protections removal will be kept up to date).
None of my PCs are new, and can die regularly, so I am unsure which PC to install the purchased one into.
Will the license allow me to install that single purchase to more than one of my PCs ?
Or, allow me to uninstall from one PC, and install into another PC, anytime in the future ?

Thanks,
Rob
