iResizer 3 was available as a giveaway on August 4, 2016!
iResizer helps to resize images without destructing or cutting the content. It can scale a photo without changing its main visual content: people, buildings, animals and other objects. Unlike other resizing programs, which affect all pixels while scaling a picture, Intelligent Resizer affects pixels in areas that do not have important visual content.
Intelligent Resizer also allows you to "fix" the aspect ratio of a photo. It folds the image so that it will still look natural and will retain the quality, integrity and spirit of the original. In order to preserve important objects you simply select them and run the resizing, the rest is done automatically. Moreover, Intelligent Resizer can change the spacing between main objects as well as remove objects from image like you'd fold a paper photo. Creating square images for Instagram without cropping is also possible with the app!

Cant tell the difference using your app or Windows Paint. Just tried to 2 to 1 size it, looked pretty crappy. Figured I'd save it to see if it looked any better on Windows Picture Viewer, can't because I'm not registered. Seems to me that I activated this... app not even 3 minutes ago.

I was disappointed that it will only do 1 image at a time, and it takes quite a while to do that.
There is also quite a lot of distortion.
Not for me I'm afraid.

Installed and activated (you will know if activated when you try to save) but it does not seem to function properly - it only calculates and resizes horizontally (width) while leaving vertical (height) unchanged unless you manually enter pixel height. ???

A neat little program which I found very useful to have - AFTER I found out that like a number of others, it HAD to be subject to a REBOOT of your computer before it was fully activated.
I installed and clicked on the Activate file.. then after studying what it could do I quite liked the idea of being able to easily remove objects from a pic if it was thought better without.. which I did..but when I came to Save..time after time it came up with a mini-screen saying either 'Buy' or 'Register' before you can do that. It then at last dawned on me that the Activate file clearly entered something in the Registry and of course any changes to that do need a re-start..after that it's great.... and glad to have it...

Not bad. Easy install and reg. Does what it says. Thank heaven it wasn't the nightmare of todays video editor! Thanx!

Installed program. First problem is it only does one file at a time, so can't quickly do a complete folder and I want to resize many files. Tried resizing a 1MB picture. It said "size not changed" whether I chose the "maximize" or "minimize" option. Loaded same picture in Irfanview and resized it to 300kB. Resized picture quality was as good as the original. iResizer doesn't work well for me. Uninstalled it.

When you select "resize," it gives you the option of selecting a size from the listed ones, or creating a custom size. I believe that it says "size not changed" when the photo is already the size you selected.

Sparky, I did not select any size. I assume in that case the program should reduce the size as much as possible without changing the picture quality very much.

Dave, I know. The reason I know is that the first time I tried to resize a photo, I did not select anything either, but when you don't select anything there, it either uses the size the photo happens to be as a default, or you just happened to choose a photo that was Iresizer's default. I didn't make a choice the first time I tried to resize, and got the same message you did. When I did choose a different size, it worked perfectly.

Dave,
This is not a traditional kind of image file "compactor" or pixel count/resolution resizer.
iResizer is more of an "aspect ratio" editor which relies on your input to choose what areas/regions of a picture are important to you. It then shrinks/reduces or stretches/expands the rest while leaving the remaining important-to-you chosen areas untouched and undistorted.
For example, you could take a conventional photo of a beach or mountain scene and turn it into a panorama without the people in it stretching wide into balloons. Or take the same picture and narrow it into a tall/narrow bottle label without the people becoming broomstick figures.
Generally speaking you could not choose any such areas when attempting to process multiple image files in a "batch mode".
If you did not choose any subject areas then there is nothing for it to do. I think.

HMarx, That explains so much! It should have a different name...

Forgot to mention that it can also REMOVE regions of a picture (for example, extra people, power lines or telephone poles spoiling the view, etc.) and attempts to automatically seamlessly stitch the rest back together.
Results vary depending on the complexity of the scene. I have found it very easy and useful -- thanks TeoreX and GOTD!

Downloaded, Installed, and (presumably) Activated with no problems on my Win10x64 machine. I'm only guessing about the activation part as I cannot find where to check, but its working. Fairly simple to use albeit I've only resized one downloaded jpg so far. Quality was/is very good with me not seeing any distortion at all on the resized file. (Larger)
I see this is from TeoRex. I've used Inpaint from a previous giveaway and its a fine little program so I'm sure this will hold up too.
Only suggestion I could come up with is maybe a embedded Help file, instead of just a link to their site. Though to be fair, this is simple enough you shouldn't really need a Help file.

I installed it, but it does not activate.

Strange problem - running setup.exe fails with "a required privilege is not held by the client". tried re-downloading..
Ideas?

AR, try disabling all your anti-virus apps, just to be sure re-download it, although this may not be necessary and re-install. Anti virus tend to not like GAOTD´s phone home for checking the validity of everyday´offers. Don´t forget to enable everything again.
hope this helps

Mario, That was a good idea. SecureAplus caused it.
Thanks.

Is this GOTD any different than the one offered on July 24, 2015? - That one was also iResizer 3.0, but the downloaded file iResizer30-ddklf4ne.zip was 14.1 MB.
