@ arttronics
Hi,
thank you for your reply!
I found this root folder with the 3 bundled files from each slideshow which has been uploaded and the IP adress in the .log file.
It seems mostly common i think that while one is surfing his/her IP and OS is readable.
One can avoid some tracking using Tor VPN or similar. But why are they storing this information on their server?
So thanks again for your hint!

Why am I the only person that apparently has had problems trying to install this program?! (I really don't understand why everything can't be as easy to install and register as Easy Drive Data Recovery 3.0 yesterday!!!) I've tried on both my computers all day (hoping the issue would be resolved during the day...) a laptop running Win 8.1 and a desktop running Win 7 and on both machines every time I try to setup the program I get the error msg. "Failed to launch the program." I only have 15 mins. left to install it and I haven't seen any other comments referring to this issue. Any ideas anyone?...

Generous offer from iPixSoft, thank you.Fun, easy to grip quite advanced application combining images, video -and audio clips into .exe or flash/website slideshows with control knobs, or plain videos without knobs for youtube.
Imported videoclips can be cropped in size or time, images very basicall edited, audiofiles linked to individual images, the program accept and export files in good quality in the commom file formats, and iPixSoft will even host finished projects for embedding into websites for one year when registered (as we are, I presume).Projects streamed from the iPixSoft server takes a little to load (a 33Mb .swf file 40 sec.). Foremost a fun and uncomplicated program without a steep learning curve, with only a few minor problems, and meet my needs.

Slider, you are right, this software does NOT manage the EXIF orientation bit in JPEG photo files.
EXIF orientation bit is the automatic indicator of the position of camera when you shot (horizontal, right vertical, left vertical...)and is inserted by many cameras (my Canon does).
So you have to rotate all vertical pictures one by one with the SlideshowMaker.
I have Too many photos in a show for this manual work.

Stupefyingly inept software that does for slideshow creation what more Indians would've done for Custer.
A GUI so minimal that you wonder where the rest of it went provides for starting a new "project" by adding images from a fly-out browser (no drag 'n drop) but the browser, though opening onto a default x4 width -- 4 images in a row -- isn't even capable of coping with left-click / Shift for hooking in the pictures: the first two in every row are recognized but not the last two.
The "Help" document can't be bothered to explain anything much so you're left with a half-selection of images devoid of the user ability to time-line. . . or preview . . . or even enhance with an audio track. You can, however, fiddle around with contrast and brightness, as if the developer started off to design a slideshow creator but then gave up on the effort involved and moved into basic (very basic) photo editing. Adding a video will result in a preview facility appearing but it previews the, er, video; not the project-in-progress.
And what: this is $50 "professional video slideshow software"?
There are, as with all such junk software as this, oodles of "transitions" to pop in for no other purpose than to end up with a finished product nothing like anyone would ever wish to suffer through unless they're road-testing a new migraine medication. And somewhere, somehow, it may be possible to do something about image motion control -- though don't count on it. Finally, though there are samples to view, the slideshow masterpieces chosen comprise nothing more than stuttering jump-cut images that you could just as well have shoved into a screensaver in the first place.
Microsoft's entirely free Windows MovieMaker -- which is by no means the best slideshow creator out there -- nevertheless flattens this $50 farce, offering comprehensive controls, excellent rendering, thoughtful Help and the capacity to create a mixed stills/video production that will please the audience as much as the producer.
Thanks, then, GOTD but definitely, no thanks. As to the posts already appearing on here singing the praises of this software . . . Yeah. Right. Try again on April 1st, will you?

iPixSoft Video Slideshow Maker, Slideshow Factory ThunderSoft and Amazing Slideshow Maker are identical softwares frequently marketed with different names and version number. The proliferation of these clones is confusing for the user who can clutter up his computer with three similar applications without realizing it immediately.
I consider this marketing practice increasingly more widespread as particularly harmful to the consumer.

Installed on my physical (not virtual) dual-boot system (Win8.1 & Win10 Build 9926) and bothe systems seemed easily ready to find ALL pics (even those on external drives) But, I do have one suggestion - When you go to your web site, you are very happy (& me too) to see your very "A-typical" pull-down menus to find where you need to go - WHY can't you offer that option to users of your program. For almost 50 years I have been using "WORDS" to express where I'd like to go, what I want, etc. And when Windows first came out (Or should I say Norton Desktop for Dos) "WORDS" were a very GOOD description of where I'd like to go, want I want, etc. Pictures on the other hand, are worth a thousand words EACH & maybe NONE of those are what I'm looking for. It doesn't have to be an unsightly banner, they can be made to look very stylish - It also might be an OPTION which people can keep (or opt out of). I hope this helps because I really hate 'hunt&peck' even if the program does work in the both of my OS's. Thank you very much IPixSoft Studio & GOTD for a nice program I will be keeping & running through more of it's paces later. Sincerely - Have A Good Day (HAGD) ;)

Hi Folks,
Does this program allow for any audio input, like music or, most important, voice recording which can be set to coordinate to slide duration?

I normally do not reply but only come to check out the software and often times the comments. I know Giovanni is the king of freeware and he may eventually drop in and mention this but in an effort to attempt to offer you a solution I offer this freebie.
http://download.videohelp.com/tin2tin/
http://download.videohelp.com/tin2tin/features.html
It is free and opensource and works very well, also it is very easy to use without a need for tutorials (I think). Fairly nice set of features as well (2nd link above).
I have created slideshows and added music, you can record and overlay audio but I am not certain that portion exactly suits your needs.
I do hope you return and read this and find this a useful alternative, have a great week!

@ Tweak: DVDSlideshow GUI -- which you're referring to -- is the front-end for a combination of excellent freeware and has been painstakingly put together by a lone developer over several years. It has gone through various revisions and improvements and there's no doubting the developer's expertise and commitment. Unfortunately, it continues to be one of the most unintuitive of all slideshow softwares -- hence why Windows MovieMaker continues to dominate the free sector. I'm well used to working with slideshow software from Photodex downwards, so it's really frustrating to find that DVDSlideshowGUI (a labour of love if ever there was) continues to be hobbled when it has such enormous potential. . .

@ MikeR: I do not have a major need for such software but in looking for a free option for creating a slideshow of images with an mp3 audio track overlay and a video thrown in towards the end with some nice transitions and text overlays I found the DVDSlideshow GUI simple and it worked very well and easily for me needs. I suppose like any program some are considered easy for some and difficult for others. I guess it could be easier but I don't really know how, for what I used it for I don't think it could be any easier but again I only tried a few and do not use this type of software often. I do use it for Amazon reviews as mentioned and I did notice the additional components that are required for it to function. I and I am sure others would be open to checking out free alternatives but as it stands it works perfectly for me and might for the Janet. I'm sure she'd appreciate suggestions, Photodex certainly has a very nice GUI but I am very budget conscious so free is for me being on a fixed income. Thank you for the comment and information, if ever my needs change Photodex/ProShow seems like a nice alternative.
In the event Janet is not looking for a paid app (or if she is) these are may other programs that are considered an alt to DVDSlideshow GUI:

Thanks again Mike.

Does this program allow for any audio input, like music or, most important, voice recording which can be set to coordinate to slide duration?
You can add your own choice of audio, however the timing may not be what you expect. The slideshow runtime is either based on the slide duration time totals (including any transitions) or you can choose to use the length of the music. Other slideshow creators allow the choice of length of music, and the slide duration times are adjusted to match the total music time. This program does not do that. If the music is longer, then the slideshow images ends but the music plays on without images. If the music is too short and you chose to time the slideshow based on the music length, then it quits when the music ends, regardless of where in the slides it has reached. I was lucky to have a piece of music that I could cut to be exactly the length that the slideshow durations totaled, then faded the audio in and out so that the matchup was less noticeable. If it weren't for this one frustrating issue, the software would be worth installing. If you think you can live with that then by all means go for it.

Each uploaded project that is hosted on there server generates a log file with the IP Address you used to upload it, whether it's your actual IP or a Proxy that's used.
Here is the root folder that is publicly accessible where each .html with .swf file also has a .log file of the same name.
This particular flaw will not prevent me from using there software, as I find iPixSoft Video Slideshow Maker a very capable tool that does many things well.
Besides using a proxy to address privacy concerns I have, one might be able to upload the project from a non-personal server that is hosting your webpage (so in essence that IP is the one seen in the log file). Not sure about that being a option, as I didn't test any uploading features but do admire the Spam free service.
Another message to the developer:
A simple syntax error (or bug) after creating a video states "click OK" where there is only a "Yes" and "No" button is shown for the mini-window that asks me if I want to open the folder containing the created project. To those unaware, "Yes and No" has different return codes from "OK and Cancel", but it could be just a typo.
Since this software is newer than the one available at the web site, I'm sure any newly found bugs are appreciated, big or small.
I won't uninstall this, only because I plan on making the best of it.

IMHO, it sounds like your file was saved to a illegal path, e.g., maybe the path is too long or offline.
For step-by-step guiding, I would recommend good old Google to point you in the right direction.
Side-tip: Zip-up a text file then decompress it to make sure your archiving program is okay.

UPDATE: On a different PC running Windows 7 SP1 x64 that has the current version of Avira Free Anti-Virus protecting the PC, this error does indeed show up and the offer from GOTD can not be installed.
I needed to disable Real Time Protection in order to install this Give Away of the Day which then prevents the "The system cannot find the file specified" error from happening. This error might occur with other Anti-virus or malware solutions as well.
To be sure, there is nothing flagged for this GOTD Setup.exe as noted by VirusTotal (or for the remaining two files from GOTD), so it must be a file extracted during the installation process that is automatically removed by the anti-virus software.

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1.3 Pro 64 bit system. A clean install.
A company without name and address:
"Our mission is to help customers make their photo lives efficiently and easily by providing them with innovative, powerful and easy to use photo software products."
We had a previous version iPixSoft Flash Slideshow Creator 4.2.5 on November 28, 2013. Here are the old reviews:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/flash-slideshow-creator-4-2-5/
You can download a set of free 47 templates from here, it is offered in a pop up window after program start.
http://www.ipixsoft.com/download/VSM_templates_pack.zip
A fancy blue, resizable interface opens. In the option you can change the general timing for the default slide show, font attributes and
default path. No options to change the language. The German translation is bad, partly simple not understandable, what it should mean. Somebody should really control the translation...
Two sample slideshows show the basics to create your own slideshow. It uses (in my test, output EXE) SWF Flash animation, you can expeort to HTML5 and upload your slideshow to their servers, where it will be kept for one year as a registered user. The output as video is useless, because it shows the slides on the left side, where you can not use the controls. The video should only show the animated window -> an error in my eyes.
A rather complete slideshow maker with a lot of effects. If you don't have any, you can take this. I made a short test, uploaded it to their servers. No, no pizza this time.

Thanks for another excellent review Karl.
In my eyes and as a recommendation to the company, they should take action to lock down the root /giveaway/ URL folder to prevent anybody from publicly accessing the log files, which currently contains the up-loaders IP Address (just replace .html with .log to view it).
