Unable to get this to work on win8. Did not install the directx9 because I have a newer version on my system and also because some users of win8 have issues with directx9. Seems to me like if this was coded properly it would recognize a newer directx version and continue without any problems.

Does anyone REALLY think the output of this actually looks good? I guess it might if it was 1986.

"here throw out some examples ??????"
I have "made" 2 examples.
The first one is a failure:
[3Mb]: https://ootjegotd.stackstorage.com/index.php/s/zNcHBJgAtN11EjV
And the second one is made with a example of the program; I only put a puppet in front of the bicycle:
[29Mb]: https://ootjegotd.stackstorage.com/index.php/s/lPtCg2j0GfbrXUK
And this one I made last spring with another product:

Well too late I discovered it won't work on XP..........not old fashion but with over 100 programs in my xp system, not to mention that over 100 MILLION others won't give up on XP, there's STILL a market for programs like this.
In fact I have a few Win3.1 Pgms that work on XP that there is NO substitutes........The day I upgrade, it will be to APPLE - I'm fed up with MS.

iwontell,
It works on XP

Reply   |   Comment by McGregor  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+5)

iwontell,
It can work on WinXP, but do you have a good graphics card?
Graphics Card: NVidia Geforce GTX 400 Series/ AMD Radeon HD 5000 Series; Video Memory: 1GB RAM
This program has to render a lot a pictures to get a smooth movie, 30 per second.

iwontell,

"Well too late I discovered it won't work on XP... with over 100 programs in my xp system... In fact I have a few Win3.1 Pgms that work on XP that there is NO substitutes."

While the minimum system requirements are Very reasonable, if you're having problems I'd lean towards Ootje's comment re: your hardware. Even if it meets the published specs, some of your hardware components are likely should I say past their prime, and so might not be performing as well as they did out of the box.

Min specs:
Pentium4 2GHz
1GB RAM
2GB free hard disk space
Display Resolution: 1024 x 768
Color Depth: True Color (32-bit)
Graphics Card*: Support for DirectX 9.0c and Shader Model 3.0
Video Memory: 256MB RAM

And while I'm Not going to say that anyone should spend money that they may or may not have, IF the reason you're holding back from upgrading is the apps you have installed in XP, I've got software that originally came on floppies running just fine in 10.

I've tried it before, it is OK for people with lots of time. It take hours to do 30 second clip. It has so many option because you have to get involved in every step of the movement and it is not for people without nerves of steel. You have to go back and forth hundreds of time to get the natural movement and I have never figured it out how to add synchronized sound to it.

Registered and installed very smoothly on Windows 10 Pro x64.

This is another well made and unique product from a very professional company. Like Crazy Talk 7 which was given away not too long ago, it has a wealth of full and interesting features and effects which will likely take me all winter to get a handle on!

Great fun to play with but powerful enough to do some serious animation work if you're in need of that.

Many thanks to Reallusion and GOTD for an outstanding offer today!

Two questions:

1. Does this actually have the ability to capture motion? The website for iclone 5 doesn't seem to indicate it does have this ability.

http://www.reallusion.com/iclone5/iclone_matrix.aspx

2. Can we export the skeletal meshes or only movies and images?

Will the version work on Windows 10.. Splash Screen only show up to Windows 8

Reply   |   Comment by Jack  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-3)

Jack,

"Splash Screen only show up to Windows 8"

Came across this on the Reallusion site in case it helps...

"This is known issue for Windows 8 in which the Hyper-V windows feature is turned on. You may have Hyper-V as part of the Windows Phone SDK or Windows 8 Pro version is turned on Hyper-V by default.

Anyway, if your system has Hyper-V turned on, please help to disable it before you install Reallusion program & enabled it back after you've installed Reallusion program."

I nearly passed on this because of the name iClone I thought at first it was something to do with iphones, should really consider a change of name, otherwise downloaded installed etc. without any problems, still to try it out properly but it look like it could have it's uses, looking forward to playing with it.

Quark,
I thought that the program was another one of those hard drive cloners to copy the OS to an SSD.
I didn't know it was for previzualization (sic)

Same here. Haven't had a chance to really get into it, but in playing around with it I'm impressed enough to want to upgrade!

Reply   |   Comment by Dingo  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

JohnL, Well I'm not that good at it to be honest ,,,,, one thing i don't like it that you can't import any new content like 3d models at least for free, so you can't get any new characters or objects there.

For learning i suggest youtube they have some official tutorials on their channel.

Free alternative is DAZ 3D
from https://www.daz3d.com/.

Reply   |   Comment by Evgeny  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Evgeny, Thanks for that - I've used Daz 3D but you do end up buying stuff (models and bits of scenery) pretty quickly I find :-)

Reply   |   Comment by JohnL  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

JohnL, heh heh heh, ain't that always the way ever since Poser went from a sketching aid manniquin to 3D dolls...lotsa bucks in externals....

Reply   |   Comment by bobbystahr  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Evgeny, Actually it's called DAZ Studio, and yes you can buy a lot of content from the DAZ 3D store, but there are many other sites to get content for DAZ Studio and for Poser, and a lot of that content is free. I'd say that also a lot of it is well done content, definitely on a par with much that is for sale. Most of my content for both applications is free stuff.

For free content check out sharecg.com, renderosity.com (click the free stuff button at the top of the page), to name a couple. Be warned; there's a lot of free stuff out there, especially at those sites. Also, at those same two sites you should be able to find iClone content.
