I find this a great offer. As I use both Windows and Mac at home, I occasionally has the need of accessing the other OS's drive. This software comes in handy with external drives, as formatting with FAT32 imposes the 4GB file size limit. This Paragon suite makes you able to format the drive according to which system will mainly use the drive, instead of compromissing so that both systems may access it.
@Poorman; this is not the first, last nor only application/driver that experiences compatibility problems. If you are going to complain, do complain to both vendors. As is, both programs act as drivers to gain access and it is therefore not possible to have them both installed. If you removed MacDrive, installed Paragon and tried to install MacDrive again the same issues would rise.

I have MacBook running Parallels. It can boot Windows XP or 7 and see both Windows and Mac drivers. I'm able to move files between both without any other software. For users like me use Parallels not bootcamp. Much easier and you can see everything all at once.
I tried this kind of software in the past and found it to be second best. I found to easier to network two systems to transfer files. Until the Intel Mac came out. Now all-in-one. Life is good. Just a thought.

Loaded on Win 7 64 fine. You need to mount the Mac drive via Computer Management/Disk Management. Then you can see the files quite well. Nice product. I'll need to check out there Mac to NTFS software as well. Thanks Paragon and GOTD

Great software, install was easy for both of them.
(The only thing that puzzles me is if I have NTFS for Mac active I can not select my xp partition as a startup disk)
Thanks for supporting OSX users around here.

I remember that my brother used to have a external harddrive and was formatted in mac ,and the external harddrive can't be access/regconize in windows. When he format the drive in windows and the drive can't be access/regconize in mac again.
Does this software help to solve the problem in such situations ?

For some reason I downloaded this (brand new Windows 7 x64) and shortly after I entered the key I go the Blue Screen of Death.
I was able to reboot and quickly uninstalled it with Revo Pro and got rid of tons of stuff it installed except for two files that wouldn't deleted until reboot. I rebooted and WinPatrol still keeps telling me this program is trying to run at start-up.
I've always like Paragon but this has been a nightmare for me.

I got this alarming notice on installing to XP PC. "Hardware Installation Warning! Has not passed Windows logo testing" STOP Installation.or Continue Anyway"
Microsoft strongly recommends you only use device drivers with the Designed for Microsoft Windows XP logo. Installing device drivers that have not been digitally-signed by Microsoft may disable the system, allow viruses onto your computer, or otherwise impair the correct operation of your computer either immediately or in the future.

I'm sorry so many found my comment not useful, but it was an honest question/concern. So I did download the program, installed it and still don't see the drive with Ubuntu installed. I'm guessing that what I thought it was intended for is not what it's intended for, but without a clearer description, I didn't know until I tried.

Just my opinion but I have tried the Paragon Partition Managers and they seem too bulky and GUI seemed a bit out of date. I really like Easeus Partition Master Pro edition for Windows systems up to Win 7. The Easeus Partition Master 4.0 pro has been given away here at Giveawayoftheday.com as well as Easeus Partition Manager 6.0 at MajorGeeks.com
Thanks to all the Giveawayoftheday staff and software vendors.
I like to test software to see how well it performs as well as games but I don't like the tracking used by many social sites, shopping sites, games, and software. Enjoy Rabbit's game comments and extra links also.

Downloaded and will install shortly as I view Mac drives occasionally.
Maybe I've been lucky, but if Paragon put up hari kari by USB software, I'd give it a stab. Their software has never disappointed or failed me.
Thanks Paragon and GOTD.

I have both XPsP3 and Ubuntu on my hard drive. I can 'see' the C:\ drive in Ubuntu but cannot see Ubuntu when in Windows. Can someone tell me the advantage to this other than seeing Ubuntu? I'm guessing it won't emulate so I can run some of my Windows programs in the Linux environment. (I'm still learning to work with Wine.) So I'm curious how this would benefit me as I don't see much in the way of a description on Paragon's site.

#2: "Every Paragon product packed with .msi (windows installer package) comes with a fatal error while installating..."
If Windows Installer itself is not messed up, this seems to make sense [to me anyway ;-) ] http://goo.gl/mJGHU.

#4: "... it is not compatible with MediaFour’s MacDrive program. I would have to uninstall a $50 working program to try a $40 dollar program that may or may not work?..."
Unfortunately incompatibilities like that happen with different apps from time to time. I don't think there is a perfect solution, but if or in case it's of any use, what I usually do is fire up something like Returnil or Wondershare TimeFreeze [from GOTD], do the uninstall/install bit, & see how well the new app works. Or I use a VM [Virtual Machine]... In 7 only a couple of versions come with the XP Mode VM, but AFAIK there's no restrictions on the hosting app, Windows Virtual PC, so you just have to install whatever OS on your own. Alternatively VirtualBox is free, in some ways better, & a portable setup is available that doesn't alter your Windows install, & also works from a WinPE type environ. For trial installs that can *really* effect Windows but might not work so well with any sort of virtualization, I use Paragon's backup apps, installing to 7 on a dual-boot rig -- if things don't work out, booting into XP Pro it takes ~1/2 hour to restore a backup of 7, & I'm right back where I started. :-)

#6: "It should be pointed out that this is for Intel based Macs running bootcamp so that XP etc can read the local hard disk that’s been formatted in HFS+ . If you run a normal Windows computer then this isn’t for you."

FWIW, Paragon HFS+ for Windows works when you have separate Mac & Windows systems as well. Unfortunately our Hackintosh laptop is down with screen problems so can't test this version [what's a Hackintosh? Google/Bing or see: http://goo.gl/epNN ]. Also FWIW, if you have a Mac formatted external drive, & if the reason it's Mac formatted is that's how it came on sale, the ones I've seen could all be re-formatted for PC or *nix. I *think* Paragon HFS+ for Windows *might* also work for you in some cases when you want/need to boot a Mac to a WinPE type OS & access the HFS+ drive(s),

Thank you Paragon! I really needed this! (both sides of it) I didn't know in advance that it existed, but I would soon have needed to try to find it anyway...
It seems so "dark ages" not to have such a thing available.
Thanks again.

#1/Tony - Good point. That is why I'm not going to download today's offering but I have friends that do use both systems so I've emailed them the link to this one. One friend uses PC for home and Mac for work and I imagine there are times he would like to transfer files...
I'm wondering if this would allow two computers with the differing systems to be connected and sort of networked through USB or does it have to use an external Mac drive connected to the PC? It would be a bummer to have to pull the HD from the Mac in order to use this program. Paragon's little picture showing two screens with an arrow pointing at both does not quite answer this.

@MarkP, yes, this driver will let you mount the HFS+ formatted drive like NTFS drive in Windows and read\write to it without any problem. Sure if the HFS+ system is healthy and not corrupt =)

I agree with Poorman, as I also have MacDrive installed on my system. I have windows at home and Mac at work/school, but MacDrive is working just fine for me. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Not sure if this would be useful or not in my case - have a lenovo s10 with Win7, Mac 10.6.6 and Ubuntu 10.10 installed. Win7 is NTFS partition, Ubuntu and Mac have their own partitions. Then majority of the large partition is FAT32 where all files are stored. These files can be accessed by all OSs - each running one at a time. Somehow, I keep using Ubuntu 10.10 more often than others.

Arturo - if you use both PC's and Macs can you tell me if I'd need this to mount a Mac HD as an external HD on my PC? I'm my family's tech support, and some of them use Macs, and I've often worried that I wouldn't be able to do any hard disc rescue heroics on their drives if they ran into trouble, as I'm firmly PC based. I do have a (rarely used) Linux box if Linux can read HFS+/HFSX, which I suspect they might be as I know that MacOs X onwards are Unix based.

For those of you that don't get why this program is necessary let me explain. I'm in the data recovery business. There are times when I need to access files from client drives of other OS such as mac. Since I don't use any mac's, software like this is great for easy access to their files. Thanks GAOTD!!!

@Poorman:
You can't have two drivers for the same job, as you can't have two different versions of graphics card drivers installed at the same time for example. That's why Paragon is not compatible with MacDrive. You need to disable one of them, to actually use the other. :)

@Xorutis, you have problems with your OS. Please look this article of Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894510
or this one: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292582/en-us
Also, do you have Microsoft's AppLocale installed?

@Poorman, my Kaspersky antivirus is incompatible with many software. A question, should I remove the Kaspesky or kick off all the other drivers and software?
I am using this NTFS for MacOSX + HFS for Windows bundle on my Macbook for 6 month already and never had problems with any other software than MacDrive.

I can see it may sometimes come in useful in an IT support environment but as it's not OK for personal use only it's a pretty limited audience out there for it.

A keeper, but installation canceled, as it was adding too many services and startup items to my computer.
Will install later on, if and when required, as Paragon installations can be postponed.
Note: One has to start the installation and click Next a couple of times in order to arrive at "Get Free Serial" screen. However, once you have the serial, just click Cancel.

This driver bundle is really nice and useful for owners of MacOSX with BootCamp Windows installation. As you get complete read\write access to both HFS+ and NTFS partitions in both OS.
If you have only Windows then it is good to get access to HFS+ formatted external drive (if you have one of course =))

It should be pointed out that this is for Intel based Macs running bootcamp so that XP etc can read the local hard disk that's been formatted in HFS+ . If you run a normal Windows computer then this isn't for you.

Question of the hour, is this really necessary except for those that own both a PC and Mac? Those of us that do use both know that file transfers are not a major problem and don't require extra software.

Ok so it says it will allow for full read/write between a Mac and a Windows based PC. Alas, I was unable to install as it is not compatible with MediaFour's MacDrive program. I would have to uninstall a $50 working program to try a $40 dollar program that may or may not work? Given it is incompatible with one working program why chance it wouldn't dislike another? Or a different driver already installed on my machine? Just how many "incompatible" programs/drivers doesn't this one like? Hope it isn't your video or sound card driver or software? Maybe it won't like the ide/sata driver on my system or the raid driver? Sorry, stopped me dead. When a program isn't compatible with one, most likely it wont like another and I've only had problems with those types of programs before. Once bitten, twice shy. My hard drives contain too much work and time to chance losing it for a "Special Edition" program. Thanks, but no thanks.

Every Paragon product packed with .msi (windows installer package) comes with a fatal error while installating, the message goes like this:
Error 1324. The path Paragon HFS+ for Windows? 8.0 Special Edition contains an invalid character.
According to the webpage, it might be the registered trademark symbol, the circled letter R. But in my system, it becomes an unknown symbol, and this could be avoided if correct Unicode character is set. At any rate, it's a pity not having a chance to evaluate this product.

Not too sure why I would need this, unless I had a Mac as well as a Windows
