I'm sorry, but having to complete tasks to be entered into a drawing isn't giving away "free, licensed software," it's complete BS.
I'll visit the GOM site and download the free version to evaluate whether or not I'll spring for a license, so I guess I'll be getting ten entries anyway. But completing tasks to have your name be one of many competing for a very small number of time limited licenses is crap.
For that matter, time licenses are also crap; it's just a way to sell the same software to the same buyer over and over again. If you buy software you should then own it, period. At least with a car you can get a lease-to-purchase deal. With software it's just greed.

Michael McConnohie, I think you can get a lifetime license of GOM Encoder if you purchase it on GOM Lab as you can find the description in the body. It seems that we don't have to buy the same software over and over again. I'm not sure if I will keep using this software before trying it, so personally think it is good to try for a certain period of time and hope it can be 1 year!!!!!
