Fotosifter 2.6.0 is stuck trying to install vc_runtimeMinimum_x64.msi, I'll let you all know if I ever get to run the program itself.

Note, the version from the vendor's website has a many as 9 hits at VirusTotal ... at least the installer we get through GOTD appears clean at VirusTotal.

Alternatives: free google Picasa ( XP through Windows 10, Mac ), virus free, can import from iPhones, SD cards, drives, thumb drives, TWAIN scanning, it can scan our drives, including our network, organize with or without copying files ( leave them in original place or move them ) can ignore gif and png stuff, reads raw, has terrific and intelligent global automatic exposure adjusting ( no Photoshop-style local editing inside an image ), plus effects ( I like filter-conversion black-and-white, as through a red filter, or through a green filter, or just desaturate ), leaves the image alone and writes a script of changes so the original file is always untouched and sacrosanct, prints really well, has high quality print mode, allows right-click to edit a file in anything you want, such as IrfanView or Photoshop, a great screen blanker/slide-show, we watch our vacation pictures daily, can make collages, has face recognition and matching to address-book, more, more, more - did I mention free, including virus free?

Someday, a company will try free Google Picasa and teach themselves where to begin, instead of reinventing from scratch, and still not being anywhere the equal of free Google Picasa.

In my view there are at least 2 major negatives with this program. One is the very inconvient way to delete unwanted pictures. Another one is avoiding import of picutes that are intergal within Graphic's programs and visited websites. I don't think I am the only one that has opinions about this.

If it freezes upon installation, contact their support via the chat on their website. They will email you an offline install that works. Then just enter the activation key given in the readme file from your initial download. You will be good to go within seconds.

I need a photo program that scans my drives and find the pictures and organize then in 1 place. will this do that?

Larry Watkins, yes, it has Full Scan function that can find all pictures on PC.

It has photo editing features as well. I am not downloading and trying it , since I already have very good editing software, On1 Photo Raw and Luminar, and don't need anything other the basic functions.

All I get is an opening screen which says it is conneting to the Internet ....been like that for 45 minutes and counting.....How do I get to Install the Program?
