Building Panic 1.3Mb
This is a re-post with screenshot/video from Week 52, HERE by Wizzard. The game download link wasn’t working earlier today, but did work later, so I’ve included an alternate link just in case.
Who can get their construction workers to dominate the building? You can jump, shoot and build, and when you defeat an enemy or opponent you get their building materials. There are two kinds of enemies, ones you avoid walking into and bosses, who are more pro-active in attacking you. You defeat enemies by jumping on their heads Mario-style, hitting them with your hat by jumping up under them or throwing various things at them. You can also get weapon upgrades too.
There are bonus stages where you try to break all of the walls for extra coins/points. The main scoring is as in Othello (build each side of enemy blocks to reclaim them for yourself) and if you let enemies or opponents build around the edges of the building, you may not always be able to reclaim these blocks. It’s a rather better game than Othello, as you have to jump around the screen and have enemies to avoid/deal with as you go. It’s also real-time, not turn based, which adds to the fracas! You can play against the computer alone, or two players can play (on one keyboard) against themselves and against the computer. New opponents appear as the game progresses. The (cheesy) music suits the game.
Very enjoyable fun and - a seriously under-rated game!
