Dash-Da-Dash DX (34.9Mb)
Want a game that’s oh so interestingly different, and still great fun to play? Dash-Da -Dash might be just the game! It has very addictive gameplay, and a ‘normal’ - and ‘thrash’ mode, to wake you up on a Monday morning. Second thoughts, better not download it if you’ve a stack of work to do; you might still be playing it Friday afternoon in the unlimited dash thrash mode! As I’ve heard about it in a couple of places recently, now seems a good time for it to make an appearance here in the free Games forum.
You do need a 1.5GHz or better processor, preferably 1Gb of RAM and a DirectX 9 graphics card. It runs fine on an XP, Celeron laptop with 256Mb RAM. Install first. Load the game, set the play screen size, select mode (DX or EX) with the mouse, type your name then press the ‘Enter’ key twice to play. It takes a few moments to start, at least on the laptop.
Gameplay (at least in theory!) is simple, in that you move a pointer with the mouse and as your energy meter builds up, you can fly your ship to the pointer location, collecting any gems on route if you can. But, and it’s a very big but, in so doing you are subject to a ‘bullet hell’ environment, with no ability to shoot back! Each game is different and you get random bosses (and sounds and music!) while playing. Collecting gems gives you bonus points, replenishes your energy meter faster, and very importantly runs down the boss’s life meter faster. Purple gems are worth more and increase your score multiplier, and clear the screen of other gems.
The screenshots can’t really give an impression of how frantic the gameplay is, do look at the videos for a better idea of just how quickly things happen in the game! Or better still start playing the game and find out for yourself! Things happen . . . fast!
Unlimited dash mode is more intense, much more intense. Suffice that I lasted just a few seconds (or less!) for the first several goes or more in Normal mode! It’s a fast-paced game however you play it!
It keeps you coming back for more, that's for sure!
It’s an innovative and interesting method of moving around using the mouse, and because each game has a different combination of bosses and enemy fire to avoid (sometimes at a different speed too); and you can make longer or shorter jumps in any direction, it encourages ‘I’ll just give it one more try’! It tests both your reflexes and your anticipation of all the shots fired at you. One mistake and you start all over again! Or at least three chances in the thrash (EX) mode.
You might find you need to allow various files/processes as, as with DG2 and Impossiball Mission, some AV/Firewalls throw a bit of a hissy fit (Heaven knows why!) at Macromedia Fusion-made games. It might be easiest to temporarily turn off AV resident shields to install/play these games. The games are tested and clean/free of viruses or any harmful processes.
It has you trying to survive as long as you can, and beat your previous best high-score! As well as an in-game high-score table, you can enter really high scores online via the game home page. Tremendous sound/music too!
It’s a really great and brilliant game; Do yourself a favor (. . . if you haven’t got too much work lined up, or important tasks to do!) - Download this one right now!
Let me know if it takes up too much of your time!
