Activation Problems, last couple weeks: Error Message: "Failed to Connect"

I have tried to install 6-7 programs in the last couple weeks, without success. The downloads complete; Zip files extract properly; Installation can be started and completes normally; But when beginning the "Activate" step, I keep getting the "Failed to Connect" message. Any programs, such as today's "HD Inspector," which require Activation to get properly "Registered," DO NOT, and continue in "Trial" mode.

I had never had problems with GAOTD programs in the past year+, until a couple weeks ago.

What can be the problem, and what can I do about it?

Sorry for the late reply. If you are using a browser other than internet Explorer, you need to make sure I.E. isn't set to offline working. to find out just click on file and look to the bottom of the drop down menu. If the work Offline is checked, un-check it. That should cure the problem.

Other possible solutions are to clear your internet cache. sometimes the cookie related to the giveaway site may become corrupted. this can then cause the failed to connect problem when trying to activate the giveaway.

finally, try rebooting your modem/router.
