   I remember downloading and activating this game when it was offered but it wouldn't play on my old computer. Today BFG offered it so I downloaded the demo from that site. The game plays fine on my new computer. I was surprised that my name was still in the game even though it's a different computer so now I'm wondering if there is any way to activate the game from the original offer. I looked through my e-mails to see if I saved the activation code but I don't see one and can't remember if they had sent one. Does anyone have any suggestions? What is the link to the original site?

   It was originally from White Zebra. The original site is: http://www.gregory-phoenix.com/. I don't see how it could know you if it was a different computer! That's wild. Are you sure you didn't try it on this computer?

   If you still had the original GOTD package, the serial number is in there. You just need to roll back your clock to use that code. Or bypass it entirely and add that one file it needs (I forgot what it was, but it was just a blank file that dictated whether or not the game was activated). If BFG put their own wrapper on the game, you probably can't use the code.

   Do you use your name for your windows account? If so it is that that has caused the game to throw up your name.

   If you still have the original game downloaded from the Game Giveaway you should be able to copy it over to your new computer as most giveaways since it went to weekends only have been free standing.

   I've had the name of my computer's "ID" (not my name) show up as the "default" name of a game player (7 Artifacts did that today) and I've had the name of my computer (different name entirely) show up as the licensee of a product. In these cases, the game is just stripping something from a standard place in the registry. It's not hunting or or passing along any information about you. It THINKS it's making life easier for you. SURE!!!

   Sometimes if you download different trials of the same game from different places the games will reuse your previous profile.

   I guess you need to use revo-uninstaller in between to be sure the extra garbage is cleaned up before you try from another location.

   Except that Revo Uninstaller Pro is $30 and the free version doesn't work on my computer.

    Why, Terri? I've got the free version on my machine and have no problems. I turned off the auto creation of the restore point because I sometimes use it to remove several products one after another and the extra restore points is a pain. If I want one, I'll create it manually first.
