Lay looked good but it would not let me choose the burn speed.
That option was blank.
Deleted the software.
Thanks anyway

Downloaded and installed without a problem in less than a minute. My only gripe is that this publisher, like others, insists that their app be installed on the "C" drive. That needs to change to allow the user to determine on which drive an app is to be installed.
Save | Cancel
D J,
Of course programmes are installed on the c: drive
It has been so since IBM came with the PCG in 1981
thus making this the standard, but even before that
predecessor companies did that if their computers
had harddrives (at that time called Winchester drives)
Floppy disk drives used a: and b:
c: for programmes and the OS
d: for data
e: for external drives (USB etc.)
That's what normal people do !
Save | Cancel
Tobiasson, so anyone who does not use the above configuration is not "normal"? Then there are a lot of abnormal people out there, including myself, who like to partition drives and have them dedicated to different types of software, like a games drive, a movie drive, a music drive, etc, etc. But hey, that 's just because we're not "normal", apparently...
Save | Cancel
Tobiasson, I am not normal! Since my C: drive is an SSD an my D: drive an HDD, I install all programmes which are not mandatory (or do not need extreme velocity) on D:

What are these "CD" and "DVD" things I keep hearing my parents and grandparents talk about? Does anyone know?

Alexander Manuel, a and b drives are even more of a mystery!

Alexander Manuel, It seems some people do not read you properly! They consider CD and DVD as drive names!!!!

This is yet another software development company that thinks nothing of windows security measures and stepping outside the protection of Microsofts instructions, on where to put executables to help preserve their integrity and help to make it as difficult as possible for malware to change and infect executables with malicious payloads, by placing the executables in unprotected locations where non-elevated rights are required in order to hack the executable. They put unsigned FFMPEG.EXE and Proxyffmpeg.exe in a subfolder of the logged in users Documents folder. After installing this look in your Documents folder for the sub-folder EZBurner and in that for a folder called ffmpeg and there are the old unprotected ffmpeg executables! They have no business being in the users Documents folder it also means if any other user on that computer tries to use EZBurner installed by the current user it will fails because the ffmpeg executables that convert the media files added to b e put on the optical medai are not accessable to the other users... What was this developer thinking? They also put in this same EZBurner folder within the single users documents folder another folder called "Burn" that contains the temporararly converted video files prior to burning... Has this developer never heard of the per user system variable called %TEMP% and the per user temp folder heirachy? Come on this is not rocket science! design and install your programs so as to NOT compromise your customers systems security and make your software work properly on windows systems with more than one user account!

TK, I am still waiting on PCWinsoft comment and reply to your post!

Paul, please don't hold your breath, they won't... hopefully they will have read the comment and will swallow their pride and rethink their programs design and construction and produce a safer better program. I do not need a response from them but would like them to use the scathing constructive criticisim to make a better product.

Since when are BluRay video discs NTSC or PAL video standard? Yes seriously this program when one selects the Video BluRay tab and press Video Settings it only offers TWO choices... Video Output Format of either NTSC or PAL... Video BluRay discs video output options should be 720p, 1080p or 2160p not 480i and 576i which is what NTSC and PAL video standards mean in reality respectively. And the Audio Output Format is either Dolby DIgital or MPEG-2 what? those settings are only relevent for Video-DVD formats and even then are a tiny subset of the Video-DVD possible profile settings, differing bitrates, differning resolutions for much longer duration Video-DVDs and AC3 codec audio and the option of different bitrates for the audio encoding... This apears to be so easy it's unusable if you want any controls over what you want to burn...

I have and EZBurner on past computers and loved it. It's simple to use, especially when I need to put a lot of pics on a CD for someone. Thanks for a chance to put in on my newer computer.

Anita, It fails to re-encode many videos on my system making complaints in the settings.txt log file of wrong encoding bit rates when asking ffmpeg to encode 448Kbits mpeg2 audio and attempts to put DVD spec mpeg2 videos on bluray discs as video blurays... not to mention other bugs and design flaws I've mentioned.

Jst FYI - this is the exact same version 1.02.41 I installed over a year and a half ago. So if you've downloaded it before this appears to be the same version as the previous one.
Save | Cancel
Dennis W Comito, are you sure it's 1.02.41? as the previous giveaway title lists it as 1.0.1.41 and the setup.exe today is sporting the Product Version of 1.0.1.41 so this apears to just be a re-run of https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ezburner-1-0-1-41-2/
renamed slightly to apear like a fresh giveaway and not a re-run. So that previous giveaway should be a good place to go to see many questions about the programs abilites answered.

Dennis W Comito, comment https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ezburner-1-0-1-41-2/#comment-598285 apears to have interesting information about the version numbers...

why do you have to register a 'free' version of this program?

walter eccles, you don't have to register this offering, it is merely stating that it is a registered version, registered to Giveawayoftheday.

Pre-activated -- installation is a breeze! It takes up 3.64MB of HD space -- does anyone know/use anything smaller?
It's my favourite years ago, it was portable, I carried it in my USB drive. until I got lured away by newer ImgBurn, BurnAware, etc freewares. I'm delighted it's offered here! Heartfelt thanks indeed!

Anonymous, who still uses floppy disks apart from museums and nostalgic people?

Anonymous, There is a reason you had to resort to using archive.org to get that file... the website it used to be on removed the file from their server presumably because of the executable packer they used was a HUGE red warning flag for many antimalware systems probably because it produces non-PE format executables as well as throwing up MANY warnings on sites like virustotal:

I just unpacked this Upack packed executable using a trial edition of PE Explorer as it has a Upack unpacker plugin and the resultant executable is far from 1.4Mbytes its really 13Mbytes! No wonder they thought it necesary to Upack the file even if Upack is often used by malware producers too.
