Today Giveaway of the Day
$29.95 free today Create non-annoying reminders and manage desktop notes with just one or two mouse clicks. Excel Merger is a handy Excel file and workbook merging utility for Windows. It enables users to merge Excel XLS/XLSX and ODS/CSV/XML files into one single workbook file without installing Office or MS Excel. Excel Merger supports a variety of common worksheet output formats like XLSX (Latest Excel Format), XLS (Excel 2003 Format), ODS (Open Document Sheets), CSV (Comma-Separated Values file) and XML (eXtensible Markup Language file). In addition to merging multiple Excel files into one file, this brilliant merging tool could merge all workbooks in a file to one worksheet, or merge all workbooks in multiple files into one workbook in one single file. That would be very useful when you need to combine all documents, files, worksheets, tables and forms together. If you want to merge some sheets in a file only, the sheets range option allows you to merge only selected workbooks instead of the entire worksheet document. Besides merging files and workbooks, Excel Merger also allows you to merge rows and columns in dozens of table files or spreadsheets in bulk. ### System Requirements: Windows XP/ Vista/ 7/ 8/ 8.1/ 10 (x32/x64) ### Publisher: PDFExcelConverter.com ### Homepage: https://www.pdfexcelconverter.com/excelmerger.html ### File Size: 2.9 MB ### Licence details: Lifetime, no updates ### Price:$29.95

Oh dear. A lot of confusion according to the comments.
This does not produce a PDF file.
This is for merging Excel worksheets.

According to the software developer website this software is already FREE for non-commercial use.
(hence no need for a "giveaway" actually)
You can pay for a license if you deploy it for commercial usage.

As for merging Excel worksheets.
Formulas in merged worksheets still need to be edited to link properly.
And that means you DO need Excel in order to edit.

The description says it merges them into 1 WORKBOOK file.
Which means the different (merged) worksheets appear as various worksheets in 1 workbook.

What is so difficult about that?
Any Excel user can do that.

The idea is IF you do not already have Excel in your PC, then maybe this software is useful to you.

If like most of us, you already have Excel, then don't bother.

I was hoping this would do what the title indicates, but it doesn't come close. I have 5 Excel files with identically named sheets with mostly the same columns but a few have some additional columns (all columns have a header). I expected the output to be a single XLSX file with all the sheets from each file, and each sheet containing all the combined columns. All this does is create a single XLSX file with each sheet appended onto the same sheet, regardless of the column headers. This is absolutely malarkey...not even close to merging an Excel file. If you really want something that does what it claims, take a little time to learn PowerShell and then look at he ImportExcel module. It does this and SOOOO much more. Don't waste your time on this giveaway...it's just an exercise in uninstalling programs from Windows.

To the developer you have a design bug. You are putting the files emsound.dll and emlan.ini in a wrong location. You are currently installing them in the user wide %appdata% location NOT "%appdata%\em1104"

This means other applications just as badly behaved could interfere with the operation of this program by interfering with it's files.

e.g.
Source: "{userappdata}\emsound.dll"; DestDir: "{userappdata}"; MinVersion: 0.0,5.0; Flags: ignoreversion
Source: "{userappdata}\emlan,1.ini"; DestDir: "{userappdata}"; DestName: "emlan.ini"; Languages: "English"; MinVersion: 0.0,5.0; Flags: ignoreversion

into something like:
Source: "{userappdata}\emsound.dll"; DestDir: "{userappdata}\em1104"; MinVersion: 0.0,5.0; Flags: ignoreversion
Source: "{userappdata}\emlan,1.ini"; DestDir: "{userappdata}\em1104"; DestName: "emlan.ini"; Languages: "English"; MinVersion: 0.0,5.0; Flags: ignoreversion
for consistency with the folder name you use in "{commonappdata}\em1104" or C:\ProgramData\em1104\

And obviously make the program refer to the user specific private location of the files for writing and reading.

I watched the video at the top of the page and...found it colorful, but not informative. The speed of the video was so fast that there was no time to see "what" it was doing, much less understand what it was trying to tell me. If that's the best they can do to explain the product I think I'll skip it and use cut-and-paste instead.

The program either crashes or sends me "unhandled exception" errors. NOT a "must have" for me. Uninstalled.

Il n'y a pas besoin de ce logiciel.
Il suffit de faire Edition/Déplacer ou copier une feuille d'un autre classeur.
Et vous pouvez ensuite faire les liens pour actualiser les modifs dans les 2 classeurs.

Thank you. Looks like a super useful and specialized tool for Excel! Even though i don't work on Excel like i used to, or will need this Excel add-on now. I always come to giveawayoftheday.com and search their software to find useful apps like this when i need them. Usually means i have to pay for them but it is worth it if the software is valuable. It's just too bad there's no amazon type reviews for software, but that's a tough thing to implement since rating often vary by ability of the user as well. Either way, this software is pure genious and i wish i had known about it before.

Yeah- you are right- I don’t know either one single person who doesn’t merge hundreds of Excel files- every day!

John Hulligan, how so? not everyone uses Excel and certainly even less need to merge disparate spreadsheets and books!

In fact the more someone makes use of Excel features like formulea and macros merging other books and spreadsheets is likely to just create a non-functional mess that just throws up loads of erroronous answers and script errors.

There is no need for this software, just print to PDF all the files, presentations, whole or partial documents or pictures and so on into a PDF format, then just combine any or all PDF files into one, that is it.

Converting to pdf will not yield a functional set of Excel worksheets. When I finish a draft Excel model, I often want to put all my worksheets into one workbook so that it's easy to update the model months later without casting around for bits and pieces. It's awkward to do that combining in Excel, as cell sizing doesn't easily copy and worksheet copy between workbooks is clunky. This software sounds like it makes that work easy. I'm going to download it and give it a spin.:-)

bob, Once you convert Excel files into PDFs, you can no longer edit the data.

PDF's are worthless if you need to continue working with or adding to the data.

Reply   |   Comment by LadyoftheForest  –  Last month  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

bob, I believe the purpose of this is so that you can actually work with the merged files not just see a picture of them.

Reply   |   Comment by rww  –  Last month  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

bob, that might be fine if you've finished with the workbooks or sheets and you just want to archive them, but what if you want to keep working with them...? Surely you don't expect people to do all this converting to pdf, merging the pdf's and then converting them back (with probably questionable results), when this software will (apparently) simplify the whole process...
