I found your software concept a good one.
Although your desigh is clean it is not windows stardard in it's layout.
Nice software non-the-less.

A couple of things you might want to add in upcomming versions.

-Auto-resume. (This is a biggie)
-Auto-disconnect and auto-shutdown

It works well so far, and converting no problem and very fast.
I would like to know if there is a way to change the number of
simultaneous downloads, seems to be a set 10 and that uses up to
much of the computers resources. Besides the fact that usually 2
at once, 5 times, will download faster than 10 at once. A way to change that would be nice. Thank you very much.

To capture anything that is on you monitor you can try Applian Replay Video Capture or Ashampoo Snap 3. HOWEVER, it is illegal to download some sites such as Hulu. For everyday downloading use Orbit which will download sites Realplayer and the like will not.

Why not just use TVRSS.net? Then either download direct, or queue it up to uTorrent or something similar. Just like TIVO.

It would be nice to have the cropping feature without the need to search through the format list to get back the same format after cropping.

Right now, the first format is avi. So, if one has a flv file and just want to quickly crop it, one has to scroll through the format list to get to flv format. That is a tad troublesome.

Another useful feature to have is resizing video, not cropping.

This software is great stuff. Only thing is the interface color. It is too dark and had to read.

Activation says "cannot connect, try again later" and the program loaded but remains unregistered. The activation link wont work for me.

Also another program is piggybacked. It is a "programs viewer" and now I need to try to delete all of this since repeated tries yield no way for me to activate the registration. 6 hours left, cant get it to work yet.

Try Ashampoo Clip Finder. Quite a good interface for search on different websites simultaneoulsy , has good converters and fast for multiple downloading. Is a decent looking software, easy to use. Check if it is free on Ashampoo.com. They offer full version free time to time.

The program works ok, but be careful what you search for. Even then you will have to weed out the pornography. How do you remove items from the list? So, if you have teen children, best hide htis program if you dont want them looking at porn!!

Tried it. It failed to run on my W98SE laptop. Install was apparently OK. No error messages, but failed to start when the install finished. I then clicked on the desktop icon and saw briefly a windows title bar which vanished and then zip, nada. I clicked again and the same short sequence repeated. The program closed with no messages of any kind. So, I never got to run the program. I had been hoping to at least use the conversion functions. The requirements do NOT say that it does not run on W98SE, which last time I looked IS an x32 Windows Operating System. This package sounded promising; too bad it failed to run on my test platform...

Installed fine on Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I -really- like this software, having tried litlerally dozens of other programs trying to find a nice 'search and retrieve' program that did not require a techinical degree to run it. This one is PERFECT! Only thing I have had any problem with at all is when I play a file in the built-in player in "large window" mode, I can't seem to stop the playback. Not a big issue, may be something I'm doing wrong. Great job, author, and GOTD.

Can anybody comment on what IE7 TIF is. On quick google did not find anything. On another note I just tried uTorrent and was able to download 3 of season 5 lost, so I am also going to try this later.

Joanne, let me give you at least a partial explanations. These aren't real titles, just euphemisms. Basically, people mean a clip downloader when they say tube downloader. The sites that have full episodes often stream them down and stop them to add in a commercial when the episode reaches a certain point. Almost always where the show was set up to have commercials when it aired on commercial tv originally. That gives the software an extra issue to deal with, since those episodes don't come down, obviously, in one continuous lump when you stream them. What the other commenters are saying is that, even though it's called an episode downloader, it doesn't seem to address these extra issues, and isn't any different from any other downloader that's used to take clips off a places like youtube. Those will work on some full episode sites and not on others. Although there's probably nothing now that will grab episodes off of every site that's out there.

This is a excelent 2-1 software. Didn't need other "free" converters or downloaders any more. I agree with #4 though.

Be careful this software installed ok, but screwed up the folder that under Documents as My Videos and connect the linked to Videos directory that is different area under \user\xxxx\Videos and \user\xxx\Docouments\My Videos these two are different area. When I open Documents then open My Videos and that said not permit to open that My Videos under Window Explorers software. I have not change any permit yet.
It showed on the right column but not showed on the right column of Window Explorer I am using Vista.

NOTICED 'xxx' is some name of my directory.

Thanks for offer. Not for me since easier to just use TV & recording for the few series I miss. Less good new series anyway this season plus maybe cable channels repeat them like White Collar. Some channels do a back-to-back rerun the next week combo of prior one and new one - Robin Hood.
btw rumor going around that some sites like HULU may try to impose a
small use fee along with a few journalism sites trying that. If happens then someone will make a fortune w/ program to get around it.

Under "Miscellaneous" in the license agreement a correction is needed. Below is the entirety of the text under part D. It is obviously incomplete, and requires finishing.

"D. LANGUAGE - The original English version of the terms may have been translated into other languages. In the event of inconsistency or discrepancy between the English."

I guess this program isn't quite what I was looking for. I think if the search had more options such as: Length of episode, where to search, etc.

For instance I want to download the full length episodes of "House" not clips or the show "Full House" or the cRap music of "In da House".

Something more like the Hulu.com software only for the entire Internet would be what I thought this was.

It would be good for my neighbor though. He could set for hours watching Anime shorts in his shorts. (shudder).

I am confused by the definition tube downloader ? when I search for things on youtube it is usually just short video clips with low quality. If I was looking for a tv series episode for example I don't think I could find it on youtube. Would this be something I could download on todays gotd ? If so I would love to get it. I have no idea how I would go about searching the internet for things like that. I know channels like the bbc allow you to watch their older programs online but they can detect which country you are in and will not let you watch if you are not in the UK. Thanks in advance for those who can explain this to me.

Installs and runs fine on Win7 x64. Some comments:
- The program window cannot be maximized - it's fixed size. This is a bit annoying for those of us with giant monitors. Why limit this?
- It looks like the search results cannot be sorted. That means if you are looking for the latest 'Jimmy Kimmel' on YouTube, it's hard to find it among all the results from 2008. Am I missing something? If not, please add sorting at least by 'date posted', or add options 'show only results from past day/week/month/year'.
- It would be nice if YouTube ratings and view counts would be included in the search page, as well as the corresponding search options.
- There are two unclear buttons in the title bar, and there are no tooltips for those. The letter 'R' stands for 'registration', and the second one brings you to 'settings'.

Other than these issues, so far it looks like a good piece of software.

#8 is in error. More moral people will not download this because it links to porn sites. Once I read that in #4's review, I decided not to download the app. These sites are loaded with spyware, viruses, trojans, and other malware. They attempt to get your financial info and steal from you. Everything I read says that porn sites are very effective at getting your financial info, even recording your keystrokes, so they can get passwords and more. So, for your own safety, stay away from this kind of software.

Very nice program and pretty fast, activation went very easy on XP SP3..

NO SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL TEXT. I does the Latin alphabet well, but if you're looking for more, forget about it. Most Greek letters show up because they're part of the standard Windows Latin Extended set, but Σινάι, Кириллица , ქართული დამწერლობა, Hebrew; just forget about it. I was hoping to have found something that can do better searches of the "feed" sites I like to watch (legal) Chinese CBC and Korean KBS TV shows since series are placed on multiple sites. But I have a hard time figuring out what %9517%3057%8012 et al means. Oh well, was worth a try.

This works very well for me and found and downloaded something I've been looking for at a variety of places but couldn't find. A big thumbs up from me.

Is it able to download from Hulu or real TV episode sites ?
I'm betting it doesn't.
I have YouTube downloader but I usually just use the IE7 TIF & copy the video from there ,No downloader required for that.
That doesn't work with Hulu though.

Looks a useful way to find episodes other than using a torrent, say.

2. BEX (DEP error) on Apowersoftconverter.dll in Vista HP 32 bit when trying to play a downloaded video. But the exe requires DEP enabled.

Has this been fully tested for Vista compatability?

Thanks to mow123 I won't even bother trying it, because I would be in so much schtuk with "she who must be obeyed"(still very much in love after 32 years) if any of that kind of stuff started appearing on our pc.

The program isn't so much of an episode downloader as it is an Internet video downloader. On the positive side I've found is that unlike many downloaders it does have access to many sites. However, it doesn't seem to access Hulu or any of the network sites. From the homepage it appears it's designed for downloading anime episodes that someone has taken from a fansub and posted on a video sharing site. It's more likely to find videos related to non-anime shows than actual episodes. And it doesn't even link to Viz or Crunchyroll which are the main sources of legal anime on the Internet right now.

It also appears to be limited to 1000 videos and there's no way to change that. It's fine if you're looking for something very specific, like a specific episode, but not an entire series. And even for specific episodes you have to guess at how they would be listed, such as "S01E01" or "season 1, episode 1." And even if it does find an episode, you're more likely to find various parts of it rather than a complete episode.

Overall, it is handy for finding something you have in mind but very poor as an "episode downloader." But you're probably better going to the show's network site to find a specific show.

Well... for what it DOES.. it seems to be good. HOWEVER... many downloads I get are via sites that specifically take measures to prevent multiple and bulk downloads. Particularly, have a look at the type of protection that Megaupload uses. The key is skewed in such a manner as to confuse a TOC.. text recognition.. routine. Lou.

I found it can search High Quality videos and download High Quality videos.This function is very useful,cool and good,but some videos is too short.
The video convert is very easy to use and you can batch conversions.
I change the language to French,but i found some spell wrong.
In a word,i highly recommended to download this software.

I have not tried this, and after mow123 mentioned it connects to a lot of pr0n sites, then I won't bother - however thank you for the offering. Personally, my wife would kill me if she saw me do a search, and a bunch of pr0n popped up.

The program doesn't open on my pc. It's just a little old athlon64 (and it is plugged in, figbar) But I get a systemreflection. targetinvocationexception. Same thing when I try to this vendors Streaming Video Recorder. There's all this technical program stuff about a page long, at the bottom it says Created by .Net Runtime

Nothing to shout about although it does what iT says it does. There are many others that do just as well and are always free with no spam or spy ware at all. If you do not have a good downloader then this may be what you need.

Personaly I use the downloader that comes with REAL PLAYER and FREE DOWNLOAD MANAGER plus FORMAT FACTORY. i FIND THAT HAVING ONE PROGRAM SUPOSEDLY TO DO IT ALL IS NOT QUITE WHAT IS REALLY NEEDED.

CHOOSE WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU AND YOU WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER.

I am going to try this to see if the converter will convert mkv files to .avi's.

reads like it will download any vid that has a url.

Its one of those programs that searches a bunch of video sites. It doesn't seem to have alot of useful things other then being able to search alot of different video sites. It also lets you download the videos and convert, crop and trim them. it doesn't seem to display non english characters as well. Also the search doesn't seem to have very much organization. I don't think it lets you add video site either, or get rid of them. Half of the sites it searches are porn sites (and remember you can't remove them from the search list) so use at your own risk. It is bsically very hard to find what your looking for.

Iam not impressed with it at all.
