I must be missing a screen somewhere. Installed fine (win 7 64x), and I also get a small screen that says 'enter activation code to activate,' but where do I go to give company my email address so I can get the activation code? There is no place to enter my email address on the small window that pops up. And yes, I DID read the "read me" file and followed instructions. I seems to be missing a step somewhere.

This is the Pro version, I don't think there is a standard version. On the site I could only find the free lite verison and the pro.

After install and register, mine shows as 3.1 Pro.

To #37, Comment by mike,

You are wrong, any watermark can be removed with right algorithm and reverse technology, apparently you have not come across with such software and have no experience with it.
I personally have removed TMZ watermarks and anything in between, but will not let you know the software that does that, it is not free and is not for direct use of the general public.

Never, ever saw this before -- but when the form comes up to enter info to get the code the form goes almost totally BLACK and it's a real challenge to see what the heck you are typing and what goes where -- click again and it is white but you cannot type in it. Very weird.

BTW, it crashes often. Is there a fix?

What a lot of bother for a load of nothing!

At the end of installing Easy Watermark Studio on my fully-updated Vista Home Premium, my Zemana AntiLogger gave me a security alert warning me that irsetup.exe was trying to inject code (code injector Type 9 with a risk level of 4/6) into one of my applications and could gain full access to my system, and that I should not click allow unless it was a legitimate application (after having to uninstall GOTD's giveaway Mac Blu-ray Player just last month after MS-Essentials repeatedly registered that it contained the Virus creating Tool Win32/Obfuscator.XZ even after I'd let MS-Essentials remove the tool every time, I'm not so trusting anymore.) When I clicked on 'Ok' to close Zemana's 'More Info' window down, Easy Watermark Studio then opened an IE window which asked me how much I would like to pay for the software. When I tried to close down IE it just stopped responding and I couldn't even open my Task Manager to kill it.

I eventually gave up on trying to close IE and just clicked 'block' in Zemana coz I've no idea what kind of code Easy Watermark Studio should need to write in another [unidentified] application. At that point, IE closed down the window, but then opened the GOTD activation successful IE window.

I then followed the instructions to obtain the license/activation code, and whilst this was easy enough, actually activating the program wasn't. When I entered the code and tried to activate, I got a Microsoft Windows pop-up telling me that a problem had caused Easy Watermark Studio to stop working correctly, that Windows would close the program and notify me if a solution is available - we all know how often that happens!

The program will run in trial mode only.

If the problem I'm experiencing is caused by blocking the program from writing code in another of my applications, then I suggest the developer forewarn users about what this code is for and where it's trying to write itself.

No thumbs up from me so far.

UPDATE/FOLLOW UP: (to my comment #30); I have received the activation key in my email, just took longer than I expected, but for free software, a little patience is in order. I have been wanting something like this (watermark program), can't wait to try it out. Thanks for the free software!

Installed fine with Win 7 x64 HP, IE9 after I turned off the ISP firewall. Got my key almost instantly.

Initally the progress bar didn't move after I pushed "Execute" even thought the program was processing the image. It just stayed at 0% until done, but it works fine now.
-It seems to me that I can only save the last profile. #35 (mike) mentioned that one can save multiple profiles. When I push the "Save" button on top it says "Save profile," but I can't locate a list of saved profiles to load.

-In "Output settings," there is a box "Use this mask to create filename" and a list. The items on the list aren't links, so I have no idea how to use this.

The type for the tabs is too small, but I like the various ways the watermark can be set. Very nice look. Also like that output can be B&W or sepia.
Thanks Refero and GOTD.

I pulled the original pics I needed watermarked into a separate file folder before importing. That seems to have solved the access violation errors. I am not getting anymore of those alerts. Not sure if it had anything to do with it or not.

Hi #31 Mas Awee

I hope this reach you.
After you press the button get a free GOTD key a activation key windows will open, put the licence code here.

You CAN NOT USE the registration link from with in the program, that will generate an error.

Also, NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER post your lisence/sctivation/serial/registration key in public.

If above do not work now, it can be that the key is now in use by someone else.

Part from that, your mail is genuine, mine looked some thing like that and worked.

Unable to register using IE9...but TY Mike #33 for suggesting use of Firefox. Registered using Firefox...but still was a pain.

I don't think v3.1's user interface is an improvement over previous GOTD ver 2.1.

I have not fully tested all of ver 3's alleged new & improved features...BUT SO FAR, I think I may regret uninstalling v2.1 for this latest greatest version!

(Personally, I wonder if this developer is using GOTD folks as guiena pigs...because today's EZ Wtrmrk v3.1 feels like a beta!)

#25: "... EVERY WATERMARK CAN BE REMOVED FROM ANY PICTURE WITH THE RIGHT SOFTWARE... This software creates a single layer on top of the picture which can easily be removed."

The image is altered -- the original pixels no longer exist under the watermark(s) -- the *.png &/or *.jpg output image formats for example do not store layers like *.psd does. To remove a watermark the watermark's pixels have to replaced with data interpolated from surrounding, untouched pixels, & that process is not by any means foolproof. It might work OK on smaller watermarks on smaller images, but getting rid of something like the well known TMZ splashed across the center of an image would be a bit of work & usually detectable to boot. IMHO the work involved may be the greatest deterrent to theft or unauthorized use -- like a thief walking through a parking lot looking for unlocked cars, hopefully they'll look for a non marked image, passing up yours.

#28: "...filled out the form and was told I would get an email with the key. After 3 hours, no email. I tried to repeat the above but was told Duplicate email address. What happened?"

Most likely your e-mail service blocked it as spam. E-mail services do that invisibly to the user -- you have no idea in many (most?) cases that the e-mail was ever sent to your address. For today's GOTD just use another e-mail service, & *possibly* a slightly altered name -- no idea if it lets you use the same exact name with multiple e-mail addresses or not.

Easy Watermark Studio is one of the nicer, more complete watermarking apps that have been on GOTD over the past few years. It uses layers so you can add multiple text &/or image watermarks, you can turn individual layers off/on, & you can control the stacking order [i.e. which layers are on top etc.]. The program's window is resizable, though only from the lower right corner, & it's pretty well laid out -- there's a lot there however, so it is worthwhile to spend some time fully exploring all the features. Text watermarks can have gradient fills, backgrounds, shadows, glows, borders, noise &/or a sinus FX, & reflections -- while like most of these apps you only get 9 quadrants to place your text, all but the center spot can be freely adjusted using 2 margin sliders. Add an Image Layer to enable image watermarks, which can also have one of several FX applied, including an "Alpha shadow" [import an image with transparency, & the shadow will ignore or not reflect transparent parts of the image]. Easy Watermark Studio lets you round the corners of your output [watermarked] images, & you can set the background color for the image frame, including Transparent. TO more completely obscure an image you can add lines or tile watermarks, and you can resize output based on height or width as well as crop or stretch. A nice production oriented touch, you can save & load profiles.

Tech-wise installation isn't bad at all, but you might not feel that way when it comes to registration -- you use the app to get to the registration page, which doesn't appear to be ie9 friendly... ie8 & Firefox work fine, & *maybe* ie9 will too if set to compatibility view(?). Once you receive the e-mail with registration info [which should be immediate], you copy/paste the number into the dialog, Easy Watermark Studio contacts the server, & that key is activated for that Windows install... you need one unique key for each installation. Setup was for the most part identical in XP Pro SP3 32, win7 ult SP1 32, & win7 HP SP1 64 -- the only difference between win7 64 & win7 32 was the 64 bit OS used the Program Files (x86) folder. Basically a one file app, the "Easy Watermark Studio" program folder holds 7 files, 1 folder, taking up ~3 MB, while a 2nd folder under User Application Data [User AppData Roaming in win7] with the same name holds configuration data & a Temp folder... an empty output folder is added to My Pictures, & a log file's added to C:\Windows. Once activated the registry has 3 new keys: 1 for the app, 1 for uninstall, & 1 for ASProtect. Running Easy Watermark Studio I didn't see anything of note using SysInternals Process Explorer other than it uses Internet Explorer. It did take more horsepower to run in XP than win7 VMs, up to 12% CPU idle vs. 1 or 2% in win7. Also saw some minor display problems in the XP VM when today's GOTD was closed -- there was an offset copy of desktop icons/shortcuts, & a portion of Windows' Explorer was blacked out, but the icons went away with a display refresh while Explorer was fine once I minimized & restored it's window.

Thank you Refero for:
a) offering this as a freebie
b) getting rid of that awful maroon interface

Now if you would only realize that not everyone has perfect vision and there really is no reason or purpose served in using such tiny fonts in your interface it'd be ideal. That said, of the many watermarking softwares i have tried thus far, this (pro 2.1, anyway as haven't had a chance to try this new version in any depth) is my favorite one.

Lastly, as always, thank you GOTD!

To all users of this software:

EVERY WATERMARK CAN BE REMOVED FROM ANY PICTURE WITH THE RIGHT SOFTWARE.

Your only defense is to hide your watermark in a pixel elements not seen with naked eye and only you know where that mark is.
Anything else is just farce and wishful thinking. This software creates a single layer on top of the picture which can easily be removed.
Exif can easily be manipulated and replaced, so don't count on such protection either.

Jeffrey B @13 and 17

Please try this:

Click>Start>Control panel>system>advanced system settings>in Performance section click Settings, click Data Execution Prevention tab> now click Turn on DEP button (if it is not selected), next click Add button near the bottom of the small window, now browse to your program files (C: Program files), find Easy Watermark Studio, click Open, click ewStudio, click Open, click Apply. You are done. After registering today’s giveaway, repeat the same procedure, but this time instead of clicking Add button, click Remove button in order to prevent data execution by this program, if you so wish. You will have to repeat this action every time you use this application though, but at least you can now use it.

It worked for me.

Hope this helps.

Have a great day everyone.

Since the version history on your website only pertains to the "standard" versions, please tell us what the difference is between today's (standard) v3.1 and the current "Pro" version, which is also available. Many thanks.

Installed without issue on W7 64. I have been waiting for this program to become available again as I upload a lot of images to the internet. While this is my first comment on GOTD I have installed many programs from GOTD and have a couple of comments.

The readme file is included TO BE READ! If you read the file BEFORE installing most of the "problems" can be avoided.

Just because an offered program doesn't interest you, you should not rate it a thumbs down, it may keep someone that is interested from trying.

Have NOT recevied license key yet and have sent the company a message in their feed back and have yet to receive anything. Yes I have checked the junk mail and nothing. I guess they dont want me to use or advertise their product. Too bad as I have well over 50,000 pics...

I always have the same question about this type of software as it never appears to be explicitly stated anywhere.

Will this batch process using exif data as part of the watermark?

One of the screenshots on the company's website suggests that it will, but, again, it is not explicit.

What I like the best about 3.1 is that it doesn't completely crash the way 2.1 did 95% of the time. The best new features are the resizable window and the removal of those silly sliding drop-down menus... albeit, it can still become extremely CPU intensive for no apparent reason. Simply moving the cursor around can put it over the top but it eventually settles down.. if you're willing to wait. The registration procedure is also a challenge (filled with ambiguity and confusion) but entertaining, if you're in a good mood.

All in all, the output quality is good so I'm calling this one a keeper.
