I've set up the software on Win8 PC, which has the latest iTunes installed. The app recognised my phone, connected in Advanced Mode and then spent hours and hours scanning data with no result. How long is this supposed to take!?

I did give it a thumbs up anyway, even though I don't own an IOS device. Looks like people like it that have used it and it is a good idea, after all.

@Nuran-Normally, if you connect the phone and then run the product, it can recognize the phone without problem.

Please try the iTunes first, if it cannot recognize your phone, our product will not work, either. You can update your iTunes and try again.

If you are using ios7, you need to trust the computer in order to back up with iTunes.

Even though I don't have anything Apple, I am happy to see GAOTD offer software for smaller markets. For example, I would like to see more music creation software (sequencers, synths, composition & scoring, ear training, chord libraries, etc). Musicians might like this stuff a lot, others might unlock their "inner musician" or at least have fun with it for a while, while most would simply give it a thumbs down. It would be nice to see more specialized programs at least once a week, something more unusual than the latest way to convert this to that, or clean the registry, or... I'd gladly give up a day or two each week of filling up my hard drive with something I already have, to be able to try things I _don't_ have!

I got it to see my iPhone by waiting until it said "plug in your device" and THEN plugged it in. This worked in both Windows and Mac, either if I already had the iPhone plugged in, or hadn't plugged it in yet. I had to wait for the "?" to go away and for it to ask for the device.

However, I have YET to get it to actually show me any data to recover - after processing the data on my phone, it gets stuck on "Analyzing data". I've left it there for at least an hour twice on my Mac and now for at least 20 min. on my PC. There's no progress meter, or any indicator. This really is a pretty poorly done piece of software. I've had decent apps from EaseUS before, but between the flaky-ness of plugin, the "never ending analyzation of data" and the auto-shutdown of iTunes on startup, I have to round-file this one. I'd be horrified to pay $80 for this. Really.

Asking for the latest version of itunes (which I already have) and shuts down.

Well... this doesn't personally have any usefulness to me whatsoever considering I don't have any Apple products... It seems a bit skewed for Giveaway of the Day to release such a limited usefulness (As in, if you don't have an IOS device it's completely useless to you) program without a general purpose one as well... Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow to see if there is something useful. They have had double giveaways in the past usually when they offer stuff like this... too bad not today as well...

Still no good professional audio editors, sequensers and so on ? That part seem to be a huge black hole among the giveaways...

No amount of plugging, unplugging, privilege escalation or anything else gets it to work even re-installing iTunes. If a piece of (expensive) consumer software doesn't work when you turn it on there is no reason to keep it. Come back when you've ironed out the bugs, Easus

No software can recover 100% of deleted data. I back up daily and is all automatic and is done in few seconds. If this software can do auto back up as well it will be a great addition.

@8 - When you have a password on your device and you have kids that will try relentlessly to unlock it. Too many tries and the phone locks up and can NOT be unlocked until 4,999,999,999 minutes. The only way to resume activity on your device is to do a full system restore. That in which not ALL the data is backed up by iTunes. Yeah, not speaking from experience or anything... Wish there was something like this when that happened.

As for android devices, there was a previous giveaway sometime ago for data recovery.
So, this program is still useful.
Thanks.

Metalhawk, I tried:
a) Plugging in the phone, then starting the software
b) Starting the software, then plugging in the phone.
c) Plugging in the phone, starting the software, unplugging and plugging in

How exactly did you get it to work? At this point I'm tempted to round-file the thing, which is a shame.

Addendum, I was able to get it to work by waiting for the software to say the above, then unplugging and replugging in the iPhone.

If I had an iPhone, I would try this. Everything on my iPod is already backed up. EaseUs Data Recovery did a great job recovery data on a bad external hard drive a few years ago. I give the company a thumbs up!

As to the android comments/negs, there was an Android data recovery software here on 9/16, so... :)

However, this software doesn't seem to work for iOS 7.0.2, iPhone 5s. At least for me. On both my Mac and PC, it just says "Please connect your iOS device". When I initially connect it, I get a ? as if it's scanning the device, but then get nothing. Also, it force-quits iTunes, which is just crappy coding. It should ASK you to shut down iTunes if that's what it needs. After it did this on my Mac, I could no longer start iTunes and had to reboot. TD.. it's nice they're offering this for free, and I know I Can't expect tech support, but it should at least work for the newest devices at first go, I'd think :)

Obviously this GAOTD is addressed to a narrow circle of users.....and given its ridiculous low rating score, it looks like most people here don't use IOS devices....

"What about support for Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry???", asked Ashraf!!

Well, the reason is very simple: MARKETING (and $$$$$$)!!!

It's more profitable for a company produce one recovery program for each device rather than an all-in-one software concerning all platforms....as simple as that!!

But if you own an IOS device this GAOTD is a great software, and even the FREE version is very good: give it a THUMBS DOWN simply because you don't own an IOS device is simply ludicrous, silly and senseless!

So if you own an IOS device, my suggestion is to install it in your machine and enjoy it, since the only FREE alternative I know is the FREE (and obviously more limited) version of this tool!

If NOT, to recover photos, videos, files and even emails and archives from your ANDROID Phone/Tablet and SD Card, try this brand new product (still in BETA stage but pretty good as well):

http://7datarecovery.com/android-data-recovery

Enjoy!!

Program will NOT start if iTunes IS installed.
I have the latest version of iTunes. "Check for Updates" says so.
When I try to start Mobisaver it says iTunes has to be installed and quits.

Not good.

Carefully read the above description to avoid the obvious disappointment experienced by others and installed and registered the download without a problem on iMac. The software quickly accessed my backups and attached iPods and iPads with a clear and precise control panel. Recommended to those who would find this useful and certainly worth installing for the day it's required. Clearly not suitable for other devices or non iTunes users hence my lack of comment regarding my choice of phone or opinion of related software. Mac version particularly welcome.

Sigh...there are so many more Android devices out there now that IOS devices. Fortunately, it's easy to just save data by plugging in your device (on most of them, anyway) and saving it to a folder on the hard drive. My contact list is saved on Google automatically, as are photos (Google Drive). Emails are archived automatically, as well. I don't know if IOS users have similar advantages. But a version for Android would still be great just in case...
