Driver Techie is a powerful yet simple Windows device driver updater that can help to fix computer problems that are caused by outdated or incorrect drivers.

So even if you’re not tech-savvy enough to figure out why your computer has no sound all of a sudden, why your monitor display is distorted out of the blue, and why there are constant blue screen of death errors when you didn’t even make any changes to your computer, Driver Techie rolls up the sleeve and get these problems sorted out for you in just 2 clicks: click Scan Now and then Update All your drivers.

Even if you have the knowledge that needed to find the correct drivers for your computer, you’ll still have to spend time searching, analyzing, and installing the drivers manually by yourself.

With Driver Techie, all of these are taken care of for you. So you can save your precious time for something more valuable and worthwhile.

Apart from that, our ever-growing driver database ensures that the drivers we have are good enough to fix your computer problems. But we didn’t stop there: we always make sure that the drivers we provide are certified by WHQL and have passed our tests. During these tests, we manage to find as many hardware devices as we can (which is quite convenient when our driver testing team is located in one of the biggest hardware device hubs on earth.)

Give Driver Techie a try, and see how good a problem-solver it is.

While driver backup option is nice, no option on where to store the backup, nor any option to compress said backup.

As to the "requirement" in the readme.txt file to use facebook, that is not necessary. You just have to use the same browser that you used to download the program. That is, download the program, unzip, then copy the link to get the license key in the readme file. Giveaway site will then send you the key.

Reply   |   Comment by 11bravo  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

11bravo, well, there is indeed an option as to where the backup is saved, if you don't change the backup path yourself, it'll be stored in the default path, which is shown in the software.

If you have any questions, would you please reach out so we can better help?

Thanks in advance.

That worked great! First I downloaded and unzipped the file. I read the READ ME, which made things oh so much smoother since for some reason I had to use the same browser as the GOTD download link (emailed to me) to activate and get the serial number.
Once installed, the software found >80 drivers, none of which needed to be updated - but then offered to back them up, which I have never done.
All in all a very good experience. Thank you!

Downloaded, installed and activated like a dream. I've always been someone who tried driver updating programs and I've had every result that we all know can happen when messing with drivers. I always try to keep a couple good restore points and my personal folder backed up in a couple places and life goes on.

Thanks to everyone at Giveawayoftheday.com and to Techieware @ https://drivertechie.com/ and a special thanks to our members who not only download and test these giveaways but then they take the time to tell the rest of us, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Same as # 17. "When I try to enter the activation code by hitting "Go Pro" there is no place to put the code in. The screen shows the "Buy Now" button, but no other place to activate".

Very Disappointed.

I have a Toshiba Satellite C850X18. Running windows 10. Dynabook supports Toshiba Laptops , but only has bio update and PC health Monitor. So to some a driver updated may be necessary, unless of course someone knows where I can get updated drivers.

Rick_S, hardware information tab grayed out until you run scan then just gives computer information, no activation slot

Reply   |   Comment by tex  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

tex, I didn't have that happen to my install. The greyed out bar may indicate that a service isn't running that needs to be running when you try to activate it.

Installed and registered to Pro version without issues on Windows 11 Home.
Ran the program and out of 120 drivers discovered, none were flagged as needing an update.
Nice to know that my manual checking of driver versions is working fine; and I shall run this nice little utility weekly from now on.

Many thanks to Steve @ Techieware and GOTD!

Your program has two problems. It was developed with online registration in mind. What this means is that simply having a registration number doesnt give you access to register it. There isnt a place within the program to register it. Maybe a workaround? I haven't found one yet. #2 - The interface/GUI was written with a specific screen resolution in mind. What this means is that it doesnt scale well on a different resolution. Im running 1920x1080 and the interface is too small. Why wasn't it programed to scale to what ever size the enduser wanted? I will try this version. Possibly I helped in making the next one better.

Reply   |   Comment by Jerome Jackson  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+27)

Jerome Jackson, thanks for your comment.

Regarding #1, it seems that there's some misunderstanding about the process:

You'll need to get a license key from GOTD here, and when the key is sent to your mailbox, you'll need to go to the installed Driver Techie to activate the Pro version with it, as instructed here: https://drivertechie.com/help/#activate.

Regarding #2, we do have a lot to catch up to, and we're working our best to make sure that Driver Techie becomes better and better in the near future. What's more important to us at this stage is to make sure that Driver Techie is powerful enough to solve computer problems with updated drivers.

I hope the above helps, but if you have any other questions, please feel free to let us know.

Steve, the key that I received with the format :

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-#fxx

was said to have the incorrect format. I copied and pasted it so there couldnt be an error. What happened? This is after I figured out the the input line was hidden where scaling the gui would have solved the issue. The textbox was hidden below the "get pro box". I could email you the exact reg code if you like so you may get an idea what happened. thx

From experience these type of programs will tend to cause more harm than good. They remove the original drivers and replace them with drivers which 'probably' are not be entirely suitable for your particular computer. If a driver needs updating you will no doubt receive a notification by the manufacturer. Replacing an original driver with another which is not suitable can cause problems elsewhere. It's a risk that I'm not willing to take.

Reply   |   Comment by John H  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+30)

John H, first of all, we totally respect your choice and that of the others. And we won't press you or anyone else to do anything that they don't want to. The choice is all yours.

Secondly, we need to clarify this fact: Driver Techie doesn't remove the original driver files as you said - the older driver files are just replaced by the newer ones. In other words, they're still on your computer if or when you need the older drivers back.

And Driver Techie makes it easy for you to roll back the drivers: there's a system restore point created before the driver update, so if you need to revert back to a previous computer image, you can easily do so within the software.

Thirdly, drivers we provide are also from computer manufacturers, but it's not our only source. We also have drivers from chipset manufacturers and hardware device manufacturers. The latter usually update their drivers more frequently and timely than computer manufacturers. This is why our sources are wider than just the computer manufacturer you mentioned, and therefore provide more driver suggestions.

A very convenient example for you to better understand this would be the driver for the display card.

Let's say you have a Dell computer, and there are two display cards on your computer, one from Intel, the chipset manufacturer, and the other from Nvidia, the device manufacturer. As you can probably tell, Dell's SupportAssist won't let you know that there are newer drivers from Nvidia faster than the Nvidia Control Panel.

This is because when there's a new driver for a certain device, Dell has to customize the driver so it works fine on their computers. And this process can take quite some time to finish. The same logic also applies to the other hardware devices.

In all, thanks for your comment.

Have a nice weekend.

Kind regards,

John H, The bog standard uneducated comment from someone who hasn't used a program like Driver Booster always irritates me. As mentioned above by Audrelis , I too have used Driver Booster for man years and never had a problem.

Reply   |   Comment by laurie  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-16)

laurie,
....and replies from people like you 'who profess to have superior knowledge' to anyone else irritate me. Calling the fact I was only expressing my own opinion a 'bog standard uneducated comment' is quite rude. I am entitled to an opinion, and I did state 'from experience' in my comment, so what gives you the right to imply that I've never used a program like this one. I have... which is why I expressed an opinion. At least Steve was courteous in his reply to my comment.
If anything your attiude to people comments is 'bog standard'.

Reply   |   Comment by John H  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+11)

John H,

Couldn't agree more with your comments. I ran two or three of these programs several years ago and encountered all sorts of problems. Never again. My "old" drivers are working just fine.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

R, thanks for your comment. You're indeed quite an expert in this area!

Yeah, we of course thought about that, and we have our ways of dealing with such circumstances, for sure. We just didn't specify everything we do on our end here in the comment area, as long as you get the gist, all should be good.

Once again, thanks for sharing this with us and the others here at GOTD. :-)

Is Driver Techie 1.0.1 compatible with other driver updater software on my computers, such as Auslogics' Driver Updater. I would hate to have these two products fighting.
