Well, as per my original comments, it seems a lot of people are having the same problem where discs cannot be found. Also like others it totally wrecked my PC so it wouldn't boot up. Had to restore it from a system back up I had. Luckily that was only a couple of days old, so didn't lose much.

I installed this last night, and it completely corrupted my Windows OS. Not happy as I lost a lot of files, and had to format / reinstall windows.

Can't detect any storage - internal or external! Uninstalled.

does not work! It can not find the hard drive! Like many other here say

I've tried a few similar programs and none of them turned out to be very reliable or very slow when it came to doing the cloning process. Now I don't use any software to close, instead I bought a dual docking station where you insert the drive to be cloned in slot A and the drive to clone it to in slot B, then all you do is press a button on the back of the docking station. A 1Tb drive (mechanical) takes approx. 10-15 minutes to copy and the cloned drive is partitioned and resized to accept the data. Has never failed and all cloned drives are bootable.

Blackhat, Interesting.
Do you take your PC apart ie Take out the hard drive to do this?
What is the make/model/name of the docking station?

I downloaded and installed. The program did not find my HD and crashed my Windows 10 laptop. I had to restore my PC to get it back up.

Downloaded and installed on Win10/64bit laptop. Didn't recognize 512MB SSD. Uninstalled.

Worked correctly on my HP desktop, but my Lenovo laptop not so. It seemed to install fine, but when launched I get a "Failed to open partition or disk", then the splash screen came up and the source panel is empty.
Same issue as several other comments.

The launch gives a "Failed to open partition or disk" error message, then the software main panel opens but the "source" section is completely empty. I see others are having a similar problem. This is not good.

The giveaway did not see the hard disks on my laptop, nor on my virtual W7. So it is useless.
Some time ago we got FlashBoot. You can get a free version on
https[:]//download-basket.giveawayoftheday.com/disk-management/flashboot/
That works fine. I used the paid-for version to clone the C-drive of my laptop and install it on my refurbished desktop. Apart from the obvious drivers, the desktop runs fine. And Windows 10 finds the necessary drivers in a few weeks.

krypteller, Hi, make sure your computer allows you to install disk clone software. Then completely uninstall the old version, and then restart the computer and reinstall it.

DoYourData,
a) how do I make sure my computer allows me to install YOUR disk clone software, when I had no problem with FlashBoot?
b) This is the first time I installed your software, so there is no old version to remove .
Save | Cancel
Works fine, just make sure you motherboard main drivers are installed, so it scans your drives.

Source disk selection failed for both clone and partition Windows 10
I use Acronis True Image, thought I would try this as an alternative.

Is there a portable version to bypass the o.s. ?
Something like Symantec ghost?
Save | Cancel
EDDIE, Wasn't ghost a great application, way ahead of its time, it was superb for ghosting machines easily. They don't make them like they used too.
Save | Cancel
EDDIE, so sorry that it does not have portable version.

Downloaded, installed, registered, and ran it. I didn't actually use it, but I ran through all operations, and it appears to do exactly what it's supposed to do.
Thanks, GotD!

Downloaded and installed - Win10/64bit (20H2). Could not detect the Samsung 1TB SSD in the system. Uninstalled....

Bernd, It is possible (I've not checked as I only installed this under Vista laptop not my 20H2 laptop) That the programs installer may not have attained the permission to access protected locations under the Windows 10 specific ransomware protections. You'd need to go via settings to Update & Security to Windows Security to Virus and Threat Protection to Manage Ransomware Protection then to Allow an App through controlled folder access and Click on "+ Add an allowed app" and select "Recently blocked app" and see if this had been block in the recent past. If it had then clcik the "+" beside it's entry... and while your there check to see if any other known good programs have been blocked as well and may need to be allowed access to work properly. Of course I could be wrong but the above will be useful at some point if you frequently install programs from sites like these on latter feature update builds of windows 10.

TK, Even went as far as running as Administrator....nope, can't find the drive.
Save | Cancel
TK, I don't have the "Manage Ransomware Protection" option...
Save | Cancel
Bernd, runing as an adminstrator is the default mode of execution of this and this type of program it's the only way it has a possibility of accessing the drives directly in order to clone them and create partitions etc, much the same as recovery drives also request admin rights.
Another possibility could be if you never "unblocked" the download and just opened/extracted the "blocked" download that you had to aprove against windows defenders advice in order to install it in the first place, windows may have put restrictions in place to try and sandbox the potentially risky downloaded program... (that is just speculation based upon what I would do as a developer if I were microsoft)
I have 2.6 running ok under Vista from a previous giveaway somewhere... never installed it under Win10 as no need to clone the relatively new drives it has.
Just for you I installed 2.6 from the other giveaway on 5 Jan 2021 on my 20H2 Win10 laptop with GPT drives in it and it found all the physical drives and logical partitions including the unknown partition types.
Appart from the fact the installer is unsigned which did not cause a problem here and I got no trouble from the built in ransomware protection as speculated might have been a cause of problems... it's a mystery as to why it fails for some people and not for others, far more information would be needed to diagnose it properly like drive infrastructure type weither SATA based or NVME or emulated SCSI based subsystems, MBR or GPT partition schemes... any 3rd party security software that might interfere... and the list of things that could go wrong goes on... and on.
Save | Cancel
Bernd, it is also quite possible if your SSD is a NVME SSD that this program is unable to see certain NVME devices... some drive tools like this are only able to talk via SATA and PATA API and are completely unaware of NVME access mechanisms.

Works fine for me. It took a few seconds to scan my drives and recognise the partitions, then a popup asked me to select the source and destination drives.

Installed & activated ok, but does not show any source disc (blank).

Bertil, Hi, make sure your computer allows you to install disk clone software. Then completely uninstall the old version, and then restart the computer and reinstall it.

If you have old version before, you don't need to activate it again. If you can't load disk or partition, just uninstall it completely, then reinstall your computer and reinstall it. It is 100% safe disk cloning software for Windows 10/8/7Vista.

DoYourData, are you saying that I have to reinstall the Windows OS, so I can install some program?!
Save | Cancel
DoYourData, can you clarify what "then reinstall your computer" refers to?
Save | Cancel
DoYourData, reinstalling your whole computer then re-install your software, so it will detect drives/partitions?!?!
That kinda defeats the whole purpose. I'll stick to using HDClone and PartitionGuru. Those do it right the first time around.
Save | Cancel
DoYourData,
you said "then reinstall your computer and reinstall it". I would say no. I do not reinstall my computer just to install this software.
Save | Cancel
DoYourData, I think I've found a potentially devastating bug with 2.6 IF you launch the program normally and DO NOT select a source drive partition and go to select the destination drive FIRST it rightly displays ! Please select a source partition or disk first in red under the button which IS correct. BUT it also activates the previously deactivated NEXT button which it should not. If the end user then presses the now active NEXT button a destructive set of options on the system drive is offered where it suggests it will remove all the partitions of the system drive. The bug is the on click method always activates the NEXT button even when it is an invalid option and the red error notice is displayed.
TK
NOTE I have not tried to apply the potentially destructive operation as for some inexplicable reason I prefer not to risk destroying my system debugging your program for you ;-) I prefer to do non-destructive debugging.

DoYourData, I assume you meant to type "then RESTART your computer and reinstall it".
Save | Cancel
Pazlamiaga, No. No need to reinstall Windows. If the application has failed, it's the application, not your Windows installation.
Save | Cancel
Installed & activated it but when you run it, it doesn't select/show any source disc. Just stays blank. Disabled my av programme but no difference. Of course you cannot select a destination disc until you have selected source one.

Brendon Bunker, An addition to my previous comment, when you open the programme it shows a message "failed to open disc". Why is this?
Save | Cancel
Brendon Bunker, did you click on the square under source? All drives appear after clicking. It's working for me windows 10 64 bits.

detenova, Yes, still the same.
