Programs such as this need to have a least one feature that's not found in other "To-Do List" programs to be successful.

hussein,
Not sure about an alarm but this (Remember The Milk) app gives you reminders by phone, email, IM etc. etc.
Recommended by Kim Komando ... if that means anything?

I suggest looking into All My Notes it has a lot of options in the tools section.

@ maurice,
AllMyNotes Organizer is an excellent program and can be used as a To-Do list, etc. I bought the program, but it's available for free. Try it out!

The freeware version for non commercial use is on their website. The giveaway license is for those using it in business use but doesnt appear to change any features. It is nothing more then a checklist typing in an item and then clicking it or checking it moves it to another section completed and you can print the list.Thats all currently if your just looking to jot down a few things to do and check it off and nothing else. There are no multiple columns such as making a list of movies, games etc only a todo. You cant reorder or drag and drop, you cant click it to see a note, you cant set an alarm or set times, you cant reset the list for regularly repeating tasks except to uncheck each completed one at a time, no calculations, basically missing these and many other features.
Currently the program I use for lists is listpro for windows from www.iliumsoft.com and it does sync to listpro for iphone. You can make both basic easy checklists or shopping lists, or can create custom lists/databases with multiple columns. There are thousands of premade lists/databases of things like games, movies etc as well. There is a trial and the lifetime license for pc I see now is 19.95.

I STILL haven't found a To-Do list better than the old reliable Palm Desktop, you can have about 15 different to-do or Task lists, each with a 1-5 priority system and due date and completion checkmark. Runs on my Win7 and syncs with my old-school Palm PDA. 20 years old, reliable and free. I prefer the 4.2 (also known as 4.1.4) version.

NOTE: it takes a fair amount of tweaking to get the desktop to sync with the handheld on Win7 or later, the conduits don't work out-of-the-box.
BUT for a laptop/desktop-only system I haven't found better.

Webmaster, I appreciate your attachment to your reliable Palm. For everyone else, there's Todoist.

Webmaster, I use it, too. Works fine on Win 10 for me.

Webmaster, I agree with you, but Palm stopped working on my W-7 system months ago. I miss it greatly.

Developer - You need something special to break into this area. I suspect like me most already have an organizer with lots of stuff already logged and that alone would make a change quite challenging. I tried the personal free version of this some time ago, along with a few others, and having a phone; ipad and PC plumped for Google keep because of its ease of use and fast synchronization. Someone mentioned Excel which I use for spread sheets but I found it is not quite suited for day to day stuff. So I would need a particular feature I never knew I needed to make me change.

Being a programmer of limited ability (I'm never going to have Apple and Microsoft fighting for my services) and also a frequent user of the programs of other authors, I have to ask,
"What is todays program giveaway about"?
You could do what this program does on a piece of paper and do it quicker. I took the advice of an earlier correspondant and downloaded from the site.
221mb when opened up to be able to achieve virtually nothing.
You can't even set it to start up with the computer. Perhaps they have another program that reminds you start up their ToDo prog.
I wrote a reminders program which I think is a lot better, but I wouldn't have the chutzpah to try to get it on Giveawayoftheday. The savaging would be more than my fragile ego could take(g)

Elementary level notepad, nothing more nothing less. To install this on a business computer is laughable.

TWO issues, two comments -
ByteScout, where are you? 100+ MB product with no features? Got a link or a reply? I don't want to install this but perhaps some of these reviews are less than thorough. If you can do APIs then maybe this is worth a second look. Where's your marketing people to fight for credibility in this day of instant feedback?
GAOTD - something needs to be revised about your review system - Almost all + are agreement about how weak this product is, NOT in favor of the product itself. How about a 1-10 rating of the software itself and + - rating for the comment? Simple but much more accurate....

Downloaded this out of curiosity after reading some of the comments. There is no way this software is worth the asking price of $19.99. There no ability to set dates times or reminders it is nothing more than a single purpose notepad.

No different than writing a list on Notepad, and printing it out. It has no menu, no real functions and really no point. Sorry GOTD, Thumbs down on this one today :(

It says limited time offer but doesn't say how long.

Dorny, You have limited time to download and install it. Usually 1 day. As I write this 18 hours left. This has nothing to do with how long you can use it.
