Many thanks to the users for their comments.
By the way, you can avoid all this nonsense in a simple and good way.
    Just spend some money.
Buy a piece of HARDWARE which is quite cheap nowadays.
You can buy a 3.5 Inch Dual Bay USB 3.0 To Sata HDD SSD Case Docking Station Hard Drive Tool Free Duplicator (up to 16TB) For PC.
Or you can clone a 2.5in/3.5in SATA drive without a host computer connection, or dock the drives over USB 3.0 for easy access.

Hi ricohflex, you are making sweeping statements, where are the links to back them up. Although I don't think a 16TB HDD would be a good idea, it would be like putting all your eggs in one basket. Which would make you a basket case, just saying. You had me on the cheap hardware, but where can I get it?.

Reply   |   Comment by Mike  –  12 days ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

For those who do not understand English.
The statement says (up to 16 GB). Which means the hard ware is capable of duplicating a drive up to that capacity, if you have one. Your drive can be 1 GB drive or less.

For those who are too lazy to do a simple Google search, and expect to be spoon fed, too bad.

After installing, it continually rebooted Windows 10 Pro in a loop. Tried Safe mode but it didn't. Tried a System Restore and it didn't. Finally got Windows to fix errors at boot up. Managed to get Windows back again and immediately deleted this trash. Pity as it had sector by sector copying which I wanted to use to clone a PS4 drive, when I saw it run on initial install. Use this program at your own peril.

App requires an internet connection to register. The system requirements do not include this.

The big difference between cloning a disk/partition & an image backup is that the backup image takes up less space, because normally the free space isn’t included. Transferring the contents of one disk/partition to another, cloning requires a single step, with the requirement that both disks or partitions are connected to the PC [or whatever device] and online. Restoring an image backup doesn’t have that requirement – just need the backup archive connected – but requires two steps.

Considering that most all image backup apps also do cloning, the potential usefulness of DMclone that occurs to me is that the popular Macrium Reflect backup app does not yet backup or clone USB sticks – you could clone the USB stick to a .vhd file that you created & mounted in Windows for a backup. That said, DMclone uses Easeus drivers [which is good], so the question is why not just install the free version of the Easeus backup app instead? You get more functionality for free. Or any known brand of image backup app that has a free version if the Easeus drivers have some sort of conflict on your system, e.g., Paragon, AOMEI, Macrium etc.

Note: Windows assigns a GUID to every connected drive partition, and those GUIDs must be unique. That means that if you clone a disk/partition and have both the clone & the original connected to the same device, Windows will not work with both until you fix that [Admin Tools -> Computer Mgmt.]

DMclone itself is stored only in the programs folder – no other folders added – and I recorded 100 new registry entries in my Win7 32-bit VM. Uninstall appears to remove the Easeus drivers that were added and requires a restart – curious since the installation did not (?).

On a side note, one of the comments on the GOTD page asked about merging partitions… some partitioning apps do have a merge function, which puts the contents of one partition in a folder on the 2nd. That’s obviously not what the person wanted – “Specifically old(er) Os(that is not Windows 10) games and game data with keys to a current Windows 10 Os” . The way to do that would be to upgrade that OS to Win10. If the old OS was on one machine, and the desired target was another, I’d suggest upgrading the original device, then attempting to transfer that copy of Win10 to the new device, since Win10 will automatically try to evolve to work on the new hardware, adding drivers etc.

Thks GOTD. Appreciate your efforts and time getting us software, but sometimes, some of the developer's need to read through and offer support when asked.
Three things come to mind when reading through various comments.
A: There should be no need to restart a system for a simple clone program. Not done on AOMEI BackUpper, IM Magic Backup, or Macrium Reflect, all of which I have.
B: #4 comment, the developer's only comment, states this "If you have installed old version of this software, no need to install it again, and if you install it again, it will be activated automatically." I am hoping that their "install" in the second sentence is actually "activate" ie If you have installed old version of this software, no need to "activate" it again,"
C: Read through TK's #10 comment as it reflects upon this program. Again the developer has not added much support to indicate where the improvements were made.

Installed and activated without a problem, it recognized my drive(s) as itt hasn't on others, I'm using Windows 8 on a laptop so maybe the problem oters are having is a Win 10 issue. I don't have a free partition or external drive to be able to test it though. Anything like this is always risky, use with caution if it actually does work on your pc.

Run Program: No issues detected. DMclone found all hard drives internal and external, excluding iPhone.
Partition Clone option found all drives in source and destination (I did not test functionality since I didn't have time to add a blank disk).
Disk Clone option found all drives in source and destination (I did not test functionality since I didn't have time to add a blank disk).

when you check the reviews on google there are none that tell you it works.
The biggest booster of DMclone 1.2 (Win&Mac) is www.domemax.com which is the company that wrote the program.
The rest is articles about giveawayoftheday and the fact that it is free.
Can anyone point me to an actual non-biased review of this program where it actually works?
It still can't recognize my drives on my computer.
To me, this is a big problem for cloning software if it can't find the drives to clone.
I haven't even got past that point so I don't even know if it will recognize the drive that I want to clone to.

jim, reboot only made matters worse as I noticed it wouldn't recognise attached usb portable drives after the reboot and more worrying was causing both my AV scanner and Google Chrome to fail. Eventually had to do a Windows Restore to rectify the situation with the USB, and re-install both Chrome and the AV software. Checked all HDD and SSD drives to be sure it wasn't a hardware problem and all passed. This software is seriously dangerous.

Going by the previous giveaway of DMclone 1.0 unless there is some comprehensive version history adressing the serious show stopper bugs revealed in that giveaway I would not risk installing even a newer version. Unless this offers a WinPE bootable media builder to permit offline cloning of the system drive/disk it is just too unreliable to try and clone several hundred gigabyte partitions using something like VSS to try and isolate the live and changing filesystem from the desired clones filesystem. Invariably over the many hours required fies will be left in inconsistent state and the clone will fail to be a true working clone of the original online filesystem.

The developer needs to address here the serious bugs that were exposed in the previous giveaway and assure the readers here those bugs have been resolved and extensively tested in private and public beta tests and that WE are not the unpaid unwarned beta testers of this particularly risky program!

    MOV,
No, it doesn't merge. It's a program to make an identical copy (i.e clone) of one disk ONTO another (which implies overwriting of the destination.
I know of no program which will 'merge' the contents of two drives.

Reply   |   Comment by EDDIE  –  13 days ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+14)

    EDDIE,
    Simple answer - No.
It's just a program to 'clone' one of your current disks to another.
Thus you can have an 'image' of your boot drive on another drive (USB or HDD) so that if your boot drive fails you can replace it directly and not have to re-install anything.

Reply   |   Comment by Jay  –  13 days ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

EDDIE, it installs two dll's. If you only copy the programme folder, I assume it will not work. The Giveaway is meant to clone data on the PC you have installed it.
