In regards to TS transport streams digital TV recordings, can the app do simple lossless editing without need of recoding for say editing out adds in a program?

ray hines, no lossless editing of that content is not possible with a FFMPEG GUI front end. The program knows nothing about the content encoding and relies entirely on FFMPEG to do the actual grunt work as this is just a GUI on open source and public domain command line utilities so cannot edit the TS encoded files without decoding and then lossily re-encoding them to whatever output format you select, even if you go from TS to TS at the same bitrate ...

TK, TS files recorded from a Smart TV screen screen cannot be played on a PC, let alone a video converter that can convert the TS files.

Emilie Kuri,
I can play them as i get them off my PVR. Not of smart TV. Also some older smart TVs did not encrypt them and they could be played ok, ie the .TS files.

Emilie Kuri, some can and some cannot... I have one Smart TV whose SD and FHD recordings are unusable outside the device there is no known decoding package for it, but I have had PVR's that use TS files that are the channels demultiplexed transport stream and that is easily decoded but that is on an internal hard drive with ext2fs with 64kblocks so they do not expect end users will take a drive out of the PVR and load it as an external drive in a linux machine or a windows machine with an ext2fs installable file system driver. It all depends on what the makers have decided to do. It is VERY likely the Smart TV makers have made the external USB hard drive PVR function non-compliant with industry standards to prevent pirating digital streams without preventing the end user time shifting the digital streams. I have yet to test the internal hard drives recording format on my FreeviewHD PVR as I think it is still under warranty.... I'll have to check when it expires and consider opening it up to see what it does.

Does This Convert To VOB AND BUP?

" Transcode AVCHD/MTS/M2TS/M2T/TS files to editable or playable formats"
ROTFL, they are already editable and playable. As they are lossy compressed any edit, except I frame cut and wit some editors, causes quality lost.

So this is for strictly Sony and Panasonic vids? Or am I missing something?
