Great product. I downloaded the free offer and after my first video was created, I was amazed how it created a showing like a theatre introduction. Sweet.

I have a previous free version 1.2 and as I recall this version also had the problem with correctly resizing videos to fit on one disk. Liked the ease of use and templates but you would think the newer version would have fixed something as major as a sizing problem. I believe a typical DVD movie required more than 1 DVD Disk, growing a file to nearly twice it's size.

As mentioned though this was with a previous version. Knowing that a resizing problem still exists is enough for me to pass on this offer. Thanks anyway GAOTD.

Installed and registered fine on Vista but ran into issues while using the program.

During my first attempt to use it, the program hung for almost 10 minutes while importing my videos. It eventually recovered and I was able to edit my clips list and menu without problem.

When I attempted to burn my compilation however, the program immediately said (Not Responding) in the title bar. I waited approximately 15 minutes for it to recover but it did not. It resisted all attempts to close. Not even the task manager was able to end the program. The computer had to be turned off to close it.

I attempted to compile my DVD again in Admin mode but got the same result. (Unresponsive, even to "end process". Computer had to be rebooted.)

Refused to work for me (and at 57, I'm old enough to know how to install software). I asked for a key, got one, and then had it rejected. No idea why, but life's too short for an application that fouls up. Sorry.

Not all that useful really. I tried several times to get movie sized (1.5-2 hour clips) avi files to fit on several different discs. Every time I got the 'too large' error.

So then I tried with 3 small 55 meg clips, and it will burn those. So while it does burn teeny tiny files it doesn't seem to like anything big.

So if you're transferring anime to hard copy, then this is great for you. If you're backing up larger family vids or trying to condense series into single discs, you're out of luck.

Also, it's slow, as in VERY slow. So I think I'm having the same results as Josh above, in that 1) you won't get the full space on your discs and 2) other freebie programs out there just might be faster.

Downloaded and installed smoothly. Got registration email immediately and it even removed my prior version for me!

Have not burnt a DVD for years, do not need this software

It looks pretty good and easy to use. I tried it out and discovered that the free film I had been supplied with (legit I hasten to add!) in mp4 format had DRM and could not be converted and burned. However, I was directed to the offical site where they offer a heavily discounted later version under a different name for £16.22 to GAOTD downloaders only.

I downloaded the trial version and discovered it would convert and burn. It was as easy as pie too, but it only allows 3 minutes of the film so that you can see it works. This was good enough for me as the result looked great so I bit the bullet and bought the full version. I am a happy bunny. But if you want to remove DRM you cannot do it with the free version.

is this software just for videos and pictures? can it be used for general data backup, i.e. if i wanted to plop my documents folder onto a dvd, could i do it with this software?

Daniusoft products are excellent - no fuss to use them either. This sets the bar high for GAOTD for the rest of the year.

Installed and updated with email registration, and it ran in Win7 (64) just fine. I didn't actually burn a disk.

Went online and downloaded the add-on templates
- just grab them all, it adds them to the choices in the program automatically.

I am on Windows 7 64 bit and the drag and drop didn't work.
It's always nice to have a program that creates DVDs that have menus and plays on any DVD player but I only got 3 clips [436mb 215mb 664mb] on a 4.9GB DVDr (not double layer) but I usually can fit 5 or 6 full movies on one if I have them converted to DivX / Xvid (average of 700MB) which will play on my $40 DivX compatible DVD player that I got from Wal-Mart. BTW I use the lowest quality setting just to fit those three vids on there.....but that's kinda' standard with programs like this.

It's still a keeper. I wonder if anyone else had drag and drop issues.

It took 40 minutes for the three clips to be burned but I purposely used 3 different kinds of videos - .MP4, .WMV and MPEG. It took all three which is good.

I'm not overly impressed. Yes, its good enough for "free", but I wouldn't pay for it! It definitely does not compare to Nero or Roxio but like I said, as its free its good enough.

Daniusoft products are mostly reliable and good.
This one is a definite keeper.

I like this software and am interested in the do-everything bells and whistles version which, when you register, you find they're offering us today at 65 per cent off, but it is mighty hard finding what this price would be and how to actually access this offer. If they are going to make these offers it would be great if they wouldn't leave us on dead end streets.

Oh and you can put custom music on your menu as well.

Sorry for two comments - but I found many more customizations that I like.

On the preview of the main menu you can click on a frame and edit the text as well as the location of the frame. It autoadjusts nicely when you type in something larger than the default size of the text box.

Also, on the bottom left under that preview you can click the customize button. There are many features there, including putting a custom background image on the menu, and a lot of the other features ConvertXtoDVD offers.

Also, upon clicking "Burn" it gives you a few more options.

Very nice program, really worth the download.

Installed without a hitch, following directions. It's always nice when you fill out a form with your e-mail and actually receive the e-mail immediately.

Fast loading, doesn't seem to hog CPU. I can't speak for all of the features though - I haven't completed my first conversion.

It's pretty, kind of like a Nero or Roxio program. It's drag and drop based, and I think that's fine.

Although I definitely wouldn't be able to use this every time, as I'm very used to the performance and incredible customization available using ConvertXtoDVD. Nothing...I mean nothing, beats ConvertXtoDVD.

Nevertheless, it looks like a nice program and a little simpler to use. So I rate it well, from what I've seen.

* Has the ability to automatically create chapters.
* Allows users to preview what the DVD will look like after it has been created.
* Supports DVD-5 and DVD-9.
* Users can select from a handful of DVD menu templates, and can download some more.
* Allows users to automatically shutdown computer after processing has finished.
* Supports drag + drop for importing files.

The Bad
* Does not properly scale/resize videos.
* No features to customize audio tracks or add subtitles to videos.
