Unless it has the ability to create custom interactive menus for DVD and Blu-Ray discs (not simply allow me to choose from 3 preset ones), then it does not really do "anything I need".

All kinds of memory carriers are better for storing photos, videos and all kinds of documents. Burn on a CD, DVD, Bluray is old -fashioned for dialing data, especially if the burner is worn out. And then there is the fact that PCs, laptop's are mainly sold with an optical drive. That is why PCs, laptop's and netbooks nowadays have a recover partition where the installation files are needed to install Windows. And, with that recover partition you are nothing after that if you have received an upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, or this PC that has received an upgrade twice in a few months. And, this PC cannot be upgraded to Windows 11 because there is an Advanced Micro Devices CPU on board.

So you are saying, I have to throw away my AMD 5600G, my CD?MP3 player in my car and throw away my old DVD unit of my kids now? And on top of that, my good camera, that has been used in the past, telling my life story?

Tools like these are great. Plus, a Lifetime one, that I can still use older media, for in the future. Nothing to throw away, and not to throw away fun.

Ray, You have not read well "AMD is the CPU". And with that CPU (Central Processor Unit) you will not get upgrade to Windows 11 from Microsoft.

All Zen3's from AMD can do Windows 11. Even the AMD"s 2600. Not the first ones from AMD's 1000 series. All Intel's processors from Gen 8 and above can do Win11. No idea what you are talking about?
My AMD's CPU, runs fine and is compatible with Win11. Forget about Intel 7the Gen and below or the 1000 series of AMD. Even though, you can still 'hack' them, to make it work with Win11. And on top of that, Windows 10 are fine without the 'hack' till 2024/2025. And they don't stop working after that time.

I still have my old PC, that I use with Windows 7 64bits. That PC is hooked to my LAN(+hardware Firewall) Disk-storage with a DVD burn unit. Storing my own music and having my movies. Burning the MP3's for my car, until I have my AUX ready.
I do feel that you don't like ÁMD (growing) and forcing people to use Windows 11? I love my 5900X very much. Get your facts straight 'Tony' and

Actually CDs & DVDs when stored properly have Very high longevity, with no mechanical parts to age, break, or fail, and no bit rot like memory chips. BD writeable discs are unfortunately the exception.

Not really... The recovery & install .wim files are different -- you cannot install Windows from the recovery .wim file -- and you still need the setup files on whatever media [including HHD if downloaded] to repair reinstall / restore reset Windows.

FYI the official requirements are detailed at the following links. Only newer AMD & Intel CPUs are included because they have features to help minimize the performance hit if you enable VBS for better security. There are also readily available official & unofficial workarounds to install Win11 on unsupported hardware.

I have an "AMD" Threadripper CPU on a ROG Zenith Extreme MOBO and had no problem installing Windows 11. My Son's laptop has a MSI MOBO with an AMD Rysen 9 CPU installed. No problem with upgrading from Win 10.

As far as the GOTD, lifetime is great. I use Ashampoo's burning suite which I have used well over ten years. But I will check the website and decide after that if I install and try this.

The AMD Ryzen 5600G is the latest generation [for a little while] & qualifies for Win11, as do older generations like the Ryzen 2700. If an AMD or Intel CPU doesn't qualify it's just too old.

To obtain Windows 11 you need an account at Microsoft. I never had an account and I never want an account at Microsoft!
