Just an FYI until you, hopefully, get an answer from the vendor.
Like you, I have a few PCs that I'd like to donate. I cannot comprehend how this can be installed on the actual hard drive you want to wipe. (Will it work? Won't it wipe itself? Vendor can you please explain?)
Therefore, I tried installing it to 2 different USBs and the installer said something like 'drive not excessable, choose another'. (For the record, both drives have plenty of space, are excessable as I ran other programs from them and there was no issue so not sure why they see them as inexcessable)
I then tried on a portable WD Passport drive and it installed and ran from there without issue.
I hope that helps some in the meantime.

I want to be clear. Are you saying that the program must be installed on the PC that you want to wipe? I have a few old harddrives that I removed from their cases that I can connect to my desktop via usb. I'm wanting to erase the data before even throwing them away if I choose. Is this the right program for this or can anyone suggest the right one?
