It is called AVI Toolbox. It does AVI files.

Since it does not say here or on the homepage what type of video files it works with I will assume from, the name it is only .avi files.

rww, Apparently you presumed correctly. I downloaded and installed and it only opens AVI files.

FWIW, AVI is just a container format -- it can contain all sorts of audio & video. A demuxer will strip out or extract audio, video, & optionally subs from a video file, while a muxer will combine audio, video, & optionally subs into a new file. e.g., take the audio & video out of an MP4 file and put it in an AVI file. It's just a matter of copying, so it takes however long it would take to copy the file normally.

That's Not saying AVIToolbox is the best tool for whatever job, nor is it the worst -- just saying there are ways around the limitation of only importing AVIs.
