Has anyone tried this software on their voice?
There seems to be a lot of comments on installing the program not no comments about this use of this program. Maybe it's like someone said in the comments that there is no help in how to use this program.

Brian, there is an online user guide and in program tips and if you disable the in program tips you disable the way to get to the online user guide and some other useful pages. I have posted relevent inforation some time ago during the giveaway... when it apeared to the public I have no control over. The program for the most part functions but did on one occaision crash but I did not spend much time trying to reproduce the crash so cannot be certain it was an actual repeatable bug. For me it is a toy since I do not need to disguise my voice.

Instead of downloading to Downloads folder the zip file landed in C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp
Checked browser settings & downloaded files from other sites. All other DLs went to Downloads.
2 questions: Has this happened to anyone else or is it just me?
Is this something worrisome?

Ursus,
Where files get downloaded is not determined by the file you are downloading. It is controlled by your settings on a browser per browser basis. Browsers can be set to ask where you want to download files to, or they can be set to a specific location. You or some other software you have installed can control the default download location. Also, if your browser is updated, it may revert back to some default setting that you did not expect. Try downloading any other file and see where it is downloaded to. If it is not to your liking, go into settings and change it. To avoid any other issues, you could set the browser to ask you where a file should be downloaded to. That way, you have total control. If you notice any other changes, look at any browser extensions you have installed, or any other applications you have installed lately, especially any download managers.

Can you remove a voice from a recording?

Reply   |   Comment by dan  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

dan , not using this software no but it can be done provided certain criteria are met using other software with the right type of source file and the voice to be removed recorded in the right way...

Does anyone know if this version supports changing your voice on Steam?

Also as someone else has mentioned the help section does not work in the program. Is it possible to get this fixed?

Thanks.

AVSoft Corp, from what I can find out is based in Vietnam, which doesn't mean it's bad software, but the fact that one comment I read alerted his antivirus is enough for me to pass. I can see how software like this could be useful in certain situations, but I did the search because, to me, this just sounded like shady software. I'll Pass.

JonE, This software has been around for eons it seems. It started out as making your voice sound like a duck and progressed all the way up to "fool your friends". I wouldn't read too much into it. . . especially on the positive side. Being concerned about ethics here gives it way too much credit.

From the price this is apparently the BASIC edition which should be a good introduction.

As referenced on their website (Homepage link in blue box above), comparison with the more advanced GOLD and DIAMOND editions can be found here (to see more details of the differences, expand the sections of the table by clicking on the "+" on the left):

My first impression was that this looks really old something that would have been downloaded during the Windows XP days.

I've read everyone's registration instructions, now I ask the big question. How does it work, good, fair, poorly....If it works well I'm going to have some great fun with it. Thanks in advance.

Dave, AVG is so bad it should be considered malware.

Dave,

Please add Voice Changer Software to except list of AVG.

Dave, the screenshot states it was detected by "Bahavior Shield" which is another name for Heuristics... which is at best an advisory algorithm and should never be given absolute authority to quarintine without the operater approval since there are MANY types of programs performing unuusal functions ... much like this and what AVG should do is describe the suspected behaviour and present it to the user and ask the user did you intend for this software to try and do this operation... like link into the audio subsystem in some way. From your screenshot AVG did NOT detect any known malware by any concrete pattern detection.

On Virustotal there are several heuristics detections, some crowd reputation based detections and one from Microsoft that seems quite specific but when I scan the programs installation folder with Windows 10 Windows Defender which is supposed to detect that specific threat it detects nothing. I am inclined to believe that this is not a trojan or malware. I also do not put much weight behind crowd reputation warnings since it is too easy to get a bad reputation by having competetors seeding complaints as well as people with personal gripes against a vendor or their product. Popularist votes are the sort of thing that brings people like Donald Trump into POTUS or nearly Bumbling bafoons like Borris Johnson into the role as UK top political job... people, in general, are too easily manipulated.

Hi
I was actually very excited about this software and installed it until I discovered there are no instructions anywhere I could find for using it, no tutorial, nothing, not even on Youtube! Surely the authors can do better on this, ... or am I wrong? Any link?

xprt007,
https://support.audio4fun.com/index.php

I agree with you as even after clicking on help in the program, it gives you "click here" and it does nothing.
I am thankful that I copied and pasted the link above from the registration page.

xprt007, there are some in program tips that initially pop up on clicking on the gui controls that can be left open as you continue to use the program but may have been inadvertantly hidden because one assumed it had to be closed to continue accessing the GUI and the do not show again was checked because it pops up on every click of the GUI... but it can be just left on screen as it does not block access to the program. one can skip through the 3 available tip screens. The support subdomain link can be reached from the More link in the tips dialogue.

PS don't forget to uncheck the autoupdate check box in the preferences dialog.

xprt007, I'll wager that all you that had an issue with Help Topics doing nothing have already checked the do not show again option on the Tips dialog so the program could not show the help topics dialog which uses the same tips GUI method... and presents the online manual link in the dialog: https://www.audio4fun.com/ug/voice-changer-software7/ There are plenty of other pages with various information linked to in the Help menu but not all are relevent to this edition and version of the product.
