Is there Atmosphere Lite for Mac?

to the Common Dialog Font, Print, and Help Property Page Objects registry entries. I have about a thousand programs installed (including a number of VB6 apps), and no other installers have added such an entry, which gets deleted when other software installs ComDlg32.OCX entries, so the problem is with Pixo. I know that no one will see this, but I didn't see your post earlier.

Love the program, but no matter what I do, I can't get the sounds to turn off.
The 'mute' option just turns down my computer volume control, therefore muting everything on my computer, not a good idea.

The sliders for background and random sounds volume, even when turned right down, do not stop the sounds.
The master volume slider is very hard to control, if I click on it, sometimes nothing happens, other times it goes to zero, but the sounds continue.

And even after I exit the program completely, I still get some random sounds popping up. I've got one now, coming up now and then, which sounds like a truck on a distant highway, and sometimes a woodpecker. It's very disconcerting.

Same issue as #141. Worked fine yesterday, now I get "Run-Time error '429.' You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality." What's up with that? Oh and #149, I did reboot same old error after. This is one GOTD that I enjoy and now, I can't.

The deluxe version is normally $34.95. The Lite Plus version is normally $19.95.

The discount is for the deluxe version, so instead of the normal $34.95, it is available at $20 with the $14.95 discount.

If you want to still download the Lite Plus version, please download and install the trial from our site and then the patch here:

Copy the patch into your Atmosphere Lite PLus installation folder ( you will be asked to overwrite ) and this will ensure the trial is turned into the full version. I'll leave the patch up for another 36 hours.

NICK- i just saw your comment in #147 offering a 15.00 discount for the next 48 hours....so i tried downloading from your website through the link http://www.vectormediasoftware.com/atmdeluxebuy.htm that you provided.....here it shows the price of 14.95, obviously netting a negaqtive 5 cents, however when i tried to go into the buy option after downloading and installing it, the price now shows at 19.95 when i choose the buy button...how do i work around this to register??? as your intention is obvious to keep this version free an additional day.

Thanks Nick for adding the slideshow patch as I was also having a bit of trouble with that. However, as #160 - Ben pointed out, you can only set the times by minutes. Most of my slideshows I do at 6-10 seconds/pic so will not be using this feature.

I had also been having issues with the recording but have sorted that out now and it works well - even converting to mp3 is very simple. Will use an audio editing program to layer the sounds with music then create the slideshows in Windows Movie Maker.

As I said yesterday (#90) this is a great program and I am really enjoying playing with the various sounds and listening to them. I was raised in the country but now live in the heart of a city so this is very relaxing and takes me back to some wonderful memories! Thank you!

Just as a follow on from yesterday's giveaway: it was great that the developer decided to give a discount for the deluxe version :), as it tempted me - and others - to buy it.
Now if other giveaways could be tempted to include discounts I can see a lot more sales resulting. Thumbsup for both GOTD and VectorMedia.

Regarding the interval being only in minutes and not seconds, this is an option in the deluxe version. I have to try and keep a balance between the two versions, but I'll try and get this added in a patch for tomorrow ;)

As far as muting goes, you can mute/unmute the application by right clicking the Master volume slider in the coloured area, but I'll look at adding a mute button also. As for more preset buttons and buttons to which soundscapes can be assigned - This is also already a feature in the deluxe edition. I have to ensure the deluxe version has enough features over and above the plus version to make it worthwhile ;)

I'll do my best to sort out the patch with the above included though!

Thanks for the swift patch Nick. It solved the issue of not being able to select a folder with the 'Select Slideshow Folder' button. Now a window pops up as it should.

Unfortunately.... Only now that this worked did I notice that you can set the interval between images only in minutes, and you cannot type in fractions like 0.2 which would give 12 seconds interval. I was looking at this to use as a nice way to add ambient sounds to slideshows of my own photographs. Something many, MANY more people might be interested in. But one minute as the minimum interval is a bit too long. So I'd like to suggest a very small addition to the program making it possible to set intervals in seconds too. How 'bout another patch tomorrow? ;)

And a real mute/unmute button. Now you have to use the 'Master Stop' button. As far as I can see currently when you use a soundscape that's not under one of the preset buttons but is loaded using the 'Load' button you have to load it again to restart the sound, which is a bit of a hassle.

Oh yes... And more preset buttons. Why such a small window? Plenty of room on my monitor for a few extra columns of preset buttons. And buttons to which I can assign scapes stored/saved on disk. Alternatively you could use banks of preset buttons using the same principle as the 1-5 buttons for the Random Sounds banks.

And a lot more suggestions but I already mailed you a few of those.

I've been playing with this software all night, much to my wife's dismay ("Turn off that *#&$ cricket!!" LOL). What a creative, original idea for a program!

Thanks for the discount, and for the great program! If one of the reasons for offering a program on GAOTD is to get people interested in purchasing and upgrading your products, this is a great example of success. It is just the second program that I have found here and actually sprung for the enhanced version (or extended license), and that's after two years of using this site. (The other program was the invaluable Anvir Task Manager - thank you GAOTD and Anvir!).

This program is COOL! Downloaded the deluxe trial..HAVE to have it! I like the binaural brainwave portion on the program! I use this feature in a different program all the time! A+

In case it might help anyone else with the same problem: After installation, I could not hear any sounds when I pressed the buttons. It took a while to figure it out but it turned out there was a conflict with another bit of software called SmartSound QuickTracks. I think this might have been part of Hollywood FX, an add-on for Studio video editing software. After uninstalling SSQT, everything is delightful!

I had to make a DEP exception and the program window opened - but no sound came... and now I have this strange noise coming from my speakers which I can only get rid of by turning off the sound. even after exiting Atmosphere lite. Any suggestions please?

Great giveaway. The sound quality is decent and the footprint is not big. $20 is a little on the high side, but I would consider if the user license include occasional upgrade to new version which may add new sounds, etc.

Very nice. It gave me some trouble during installation, but I actually think it was the GOTD parts of setup that caused it. Had to do setup 3 times before it came out ok. But then it was fine. XP sp2 here.
I like that you can turn certain sounds on or off, instead of being stuck like the maker wanted it to sound.
The sounds are very good, but I must also say- the sounds are too fast. Nature isn't that fast. Yes, tried adjusting that & it didn't make much difference.

Try restarting your PC. I'm using exact same system as you and a restart frequently clears out all sorts of error messages, and next time round the program runs just fine. I didn't get any error messages with this install but have often used the above procedure to fix other troublesome post-installation errors.

I'm about to download it. Sounds like fun. This would be a nice program to make sounds to add to home made videos in eg Windows Movie Maker.

I am sorry but I discovered that it was the sound on my speakers that was shut off.The sound works well on XP too. Also I had suggested turning to the lowest the background sound to turn off the sound but this is not the proper way to do it. Under Random Sounds there is six boxes 1-5 and stop. Just click on Stop and the sound goes off. Sorry for my having been misleading.

A few people have written commenting that their is no sound volume.When I installed the program on my XP desktop the sound does not work no matter what I do but when I installed it on my laptop Windows 7 the sound is working without fail. Someone also commented that they cannot shut off the sound even when they close the program. Turn off the background volume by putting it on the lowest it can go.This worked for me. Thank you GOTD and Atmosphere Lite Plus for this very interesting software.

Downloaded and installed on an aging laptop running WinXP SP3 and was up and running in no time. Love this, and have recommended it to a friend who I know will love it too! Thanks guys!

The program installed correctly, but when I tried to use it for the first time, I got a window with the message:
Run Time Error 429

but...for those that play sounds for specific actions this comes in handy. oral confirmation for many many different actions. quite useful to keep track of what your PC is doing. heaing a chime for cloing certain downloads- priceless:))

Atmosphere Lite Plus is versatile and truly unique, if a tad quirky. It does take a bit of playing around to learn how to use it, and as noted by a previous poster, the help file could use some more work.

Downloading and installation presented no problem. I assume that registration is not needed, since I could find nothing about it in the program.

Very nice gotd (listing to the lovely rain, right now, in the desert)!

I had to uninstall/reinstall to be able to hear the sounds. Upon launching ALP after the first install, windoze (XP Pro, SP3) returned a demand for the Dell Resource CD and made multiple attempts to install something before I clicked "cancel". ALP launched and I could see the visuals and use the programme, but I couldn't hear anything.

The uninstall asked permission to delete a lot of shared files that it said were not being used by any other programmes I said "no" and after the uninstall finished (it didn't delete the programme directory, btw) I reinstalled ALP, didn't receive any more demands to install anything, and now it works perfectly.

Warring: this is so much fun to play with that it could easily become a "work alternative".

Unfortunately I could install, but then not load the program. I have win 7 64 bit. Windows automatically tried to run this in compatibility mode, but that did not work either.

I like it. Perhaps I can use the wind noises to teach my dog not to be afraid of the wind. She has a little anxiety problem when it comes to windy days. It's not even the storms that bother her, but just the wind. Not exactly sure how, but I think this might be helpful in some way. At least I can simulate the wind with it.

Tested this app on another XP Pro machine with SP3 and also couldn't select a Slideshow Folder. On the same system under W7 it finally works. Hopefully the announced patch will fix this on the XP systems.

Installed fine on my Vista, but on my laptop with WinXP it looks fine and the pictures are there, but no sound. Have not had time to debug.

Wonderful little program. It is now running while I type. Atmosphere Lite Plus installed/licensed very well on Windows XP Pro SP3. No problems. I also suffer from tinnitus with a volume that is louder than an "Interstate freeway" and this is a welcomed program to help mask that noise. I use the Alpha, Beta, Theta and Delta sounds and was extremely happy to see that it is also included. Thank you so much Vectormedia and GOTD. This is definitely a keeper for me

When I depress the record button, I am getting error message 'Object variable or With block variable not set' too bad, I'd really like to use this feature. Also, the alarm is not loud enough and my settings are at 100%. Aside from these issues, I am enjoying this program. Using Win 7.

Using win xp and not able to select any of the slideshows. The button for select does not work. Installed it twice and gave up.
