I downloaded and successfully keyed, registered, my account shows all my ashampoo licenses. and then today, Ashampoo Backup informed me, or maybe windows, that my copy is not digitally signed and the drivers will not be installed. Help, what are the courses of action to remedy this. I have contacted Ashampoo about this but no reply yet. I was looking forward to learning this. I appreciate your time

I cannot get the training Videos to work. Clicking this option does nothing, while clicking other options gets a response. Maybe I need to download these videos in addition to the LARGE download of the program?

Also, I'm the program itself it does not seem to recognize that I am already registered, both with KEYS and ACCOUNT!!!!!
Unhappy...

Weird. I assume this took 3~4 hours to download (that's what it said before I left for work). Got home and installed it a few minutes ago, and it's all in German. I'll have to translate eventually so I can figure out how to turn it to English
Very slow to load after clicking on the icon. Thought it might have frozen.

Just wanted to say thanks for this program. Been looking for something like this for some time and here it is. THANK YOU GOTD.

Download failed again this time @ 16% and was only getting a 20 - 60 kbps download speed.
I think it would be a handy application to have in my "toolbox" but not worth the time and wasted bandwidth trying to download the full copy.
Sorry but thumbs down from me simply because of the download issues

I am so pleased Ashampoo finally did a re-run of this amazing piece of software. I originally used it (the trial version) for the floor plan of my house but then started using it to re-arrange furniture, work with design changes to the outside of my house and planning garden changes. There might be a problem with the examples which seem to come up in German despite me having changed the language to UK English (!).

I'd like to design a geodesic dome home, but have been unable to find any software tools that allow diagonal walls, which are necessary for the exterior walls. If you add that ability, it would help greatly.

The download stalled for me @ 37% and despite my download speed being rated @ 55.09 Mbps - best speed I could get on the download was 137 kbs.
Will try one more time but if it stalls again I'll give up..

Fully downloaded after 4hr slow, steady progress. Now I can't get the password! Will that take 4 hours?
Always happy with Ashampoo but the initiation ritual is pure hell.

truthfetish, Unzip the program, run setup, it will pop up a splash screen for activation code..click on get free activation code and it will take you straight to Ashampoo's website...fill in all the data needed and send, making sure the received Ashampoo emails dont end up in spam folder or worse yet, getting trashed as a possible fishing scam by your email agent...if you already have an Ashampoo account it will be faster..copy and paste it into the activation key box and click "activate"...and yes I did mine today since it took blasted forever to download.
It took me 5 minutes and had mine.

I'm on my 3rd attempt at downloading it. First 2 wouldn't un-zip, said the files were corrupted. And each took 4 hours to download. Now I know my internet connection is just basic (nothing else available round here), but it plays the likes of YouTube without a stutter, so it can't be That slow...

I just keep getting an error message - that the files
are corrupt.. download again.
I disabled firewall and system security and still no
go?
suggestions will be appreciated

Horribly slow download speed and it's not my internet connection. I know the size is in GBs but still, this is a stone age or what? Why not just giveaway the serial instead?

Someone,
use download manager
Save | Cancel
jsilva, I'm using a download manager and it's still horribly slow...a 1.4Gb zip file should take no more than 5 minutes at my speeds (done before with much larger files).

nigel oldale,
Can I use this program to make a floor plan drawing of our existing house? I'm competent with a tape measure so I could measure each room's dimensions. Will the program let me easily put those measurements together in the shape of our house?

Tried this last time as a GOTD - didn't find it useful.
It is designed for new construction, not remodeling existing homes.

It may be a good program, but my new house is already built. So it comes about 3 years too late to really do me any good at this time.

Gargantuan download size of this software resulted in much frustration last September for some GOTDers; hopefully this re-run will be less troublesome.
My wife actually trialed this direct from Ashampoo last summer when we were in the process of moving house. She found it to be an impressively comprehensive home design program, in much the same way that Adobe CS is an impressively comprehensive image editing program -- for which reason, she uninstalled: not because the software was deficient in any way but because it was much, much too feature rich for her needs.
It's a point bearing in mind for anyone contemplating today's re-run. Although Ashampoo has done its best to make everything as intuitive as possible, the learning curve here is as substantial as the download size. It's therefore not a program for casual toying with and especially not by those who, like my wife, have never experienced home design software before.
She eventually installed the open source Sweet Home 3D, download size currently around 43Mb. . . and, finally, went back to old fashioned graph paper.

What export options does this have?
Images? Videos of a walkthrough?
A 3D obj file with materials?
No details of this on the home page and file too big to download just to check.
If it has no export options, it has no value to me. I would think all of the suggested formats should be available at a minimum - extras would include other 3D formats, but obj is the most universal so should be the first choice.

Noah Body, did you take the time to go to the website and read it's description of what the program will and will not do?

I agree... But, this is the pro version so I can't imagine that feature not being available.

Noah Body,
The manual from Version TWO says:
2.4 2D DXF/DWG IMPORT AND EXPORT
Both of these plug-ins are available separately. After loading a file a preview is presented in which you can choose the contents you would like to import. On export you can modify details of the elements being exported. After and during import you
an adjust the scale and representation of lines. The DXF file will first be imported as a single element, a 2D symbol. When planning the symbol can, if necessary, be resolved into individual elements, edited, and then saved in the 2D catalog using standard functions.

Noah Body,
I didnt test it thoroughly, just a quick try. Images are saved (2d as pdf, 3d as raster), but no export of the model to other formats, only homeDesigner native ones. Help says that there are exports to 3ds, truespace, dxf, vrml, lightwave, wavefront formats, but for me they are not available. Probably this is only limited version, not fully functional "pro". But for 20 bucks this sw is quite affordable, if you need these exports. About imports I did find dxf/dwg import in help file but not in installed GOTD version of the software. But I looked on it only very quickly, it is possible that I missed something...
