just i gave review about this standard when it was last given away. the standard edition is useless. it is a rip off of the perfect 365. When you buy their product they had annoying online registration. there is no way to register offline.

I used a few different Arcsoft programs over a decade ago and only stopped using them when I couldn't find the programs to reinstall on my various Windows iterations.

I assumed the Arcsoft company had been dissolved or absorbed since I just never saw the products I had used upgraded or for sale anyplace except Ebay.

This is just some upselling crippled shareware smearing the Arcsoft name, and everyone knows what happens to crippled shareware.

Sorry, Giovanni, nice try but no cigar. Cosmetic Guide (http://tintguide.com/cosmetic.html) is NOT free. Sure, it offers 'free' licenses as a reward for winning a monthly photography contest, but that means that winners have to pay for their licenses by means other than cash (namely, some work and some luck).

Hi again - another thing in Standard Version, when you try to "upgrade" and activate using Activation Code, message in the box to fill the 2 lines - underneath states: Save your photo to original size: "Thank you for chosing Perfect365. Activation REMOVES(!!) the LIMITATION(!!) of saving original photos edited by Perfect365"

NOW! - in Comparison of Perfect365 Standard v Perfect365 (Full Version), on their Site you'll find down the Lines "Export": Output formats supported (JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF) - all the same in BOTH Versions, and further: Output resolution supported (ORIGINAL!/640x640/screen) - BOTH the same for both Versions!

In Ashraf's Review of Perfect365 Standard under "pros" you'll find: "Print and save your pictures in their ORIGINAL (caps used by me, sorry Ash) resolution".. (that most probably WAS true once, but no longer!), I saw today, but don't remember where now on ArcSoft own Site - the same "promis" about saving being ALL THE SAME regardless of P365 Version. ???
ArcSoft - what kind of blatant PORKY is this?!!

Used an Arcsoft program for several years, a long time ago. It was okay but nothing special. This program and their other newer programs I would not download due to the negative reviews. Don't really know what happened to Arcsoft of years ago but it was way better than their new 'efforts' of today! As to even trying this giveaway, no thanks, too many problems by the sound of it. And what is the use of this program to 'clean up' male portraits? Nothing.

I had a paid version many years ago. Every time I needed a feature I get a message that I needed to upgrade and pay more. They have two versions now and they are giving us the limited version. I am guessing the same thing will happen again. I pass on Arcsoft products.

I installed this last time it was offered on GOTD. Apart from the presets, I can control whiten skin, soften skin, remove shine, blush, slim face, lift cheeks, whiten teeth, enlarge eyes, deepen smile etc. etc. with sliding controls from 0 to 100.
The program occupies 31MB on my HD.
Love the program, and don't understand some of the previous comments about it. Using presets, obviously some of them give strange results on photos of men, but with the sliding controls, one can select the effects one wants.

I come to GOTD everyday. I read the reviews before I D/L anything. I like the graphic software because it can make my job easier. I have Perfect 365 Standard on my PC. I wish I had seen the Perfect 365 without the standard, from what I have read on here. I have gotten other ARC Soft software from GOTD I uninstalled it all. It just doesn't compete with other free/open source software. I would not pay for upgrades. I have 2 PCs I use, and it would be nice to be able to transfer the software from GOTD to another computer. I have tried but they will not work for me. I know the software is free, but I like to back up my programs. If my PC crashes. I lose all of my GOTD programs I have gotten over the years. I have bought a few of the programs through the years. The software programs lately have been poor quality. I so not download software if it has many more bad reviews that good ones. I will not be D/L Arc Soft programs as they do not do what they say they do. There are a few others I have D/L and had trouble with uninstalling, and not just Arc Soft. For the most part GOTD does give some pretty great programs. They really need to test the programs that we D/L themselves if they don't already. That is just my 2 cents!

Hi, Janet @26 is most probably Spot On! Most probably relates to that Full Version given here first on Dec 2011 (v.1.0.0.49), full of features, room for realistic full control and possibility to SAVE picture in Original size! I am not sure now if Janet's version has (later added) more makeup Presets, or not - regardless of that, I wish I still had that version! (sadly lost in few PCs back)

What I have now is Version 1.1.09, it has 24 makeup Presets, the last one called "Frosty", on the right hand side I have loads of automatic features (ticked in boxes), arrows going back if I don't like what I see, as well as manual control for adding or adjusting smile, lipstick, eye color a.s.o. I would be happy with what I've got, if not for the fact - I cannot save Output in Original Size (it says "Upgrade to Full version"..), so what's available is "up to 600 x 600" only, and that's pretty shabby. Might work on huge size Portraits (face only) reduced to smaller size. Otherwise - what one applies (with ease and control) in this Version - is LOST in 600 x 600, let's face it - tiny(!) picture.

Concluding - Looks like I too have "some" Standard Version, full of features and probably more Presets that Original one (that o Janet's and Others) - but pretty useless for saving. Should Anyone had the same as mine version 1.1.0.9 and already downloaded Today's Giveaway AND that Version has even LESS control, but, say, more presets - What would Their advice be. I'm in "catch 22", as it is. Please Help!
Secondly - can Today's Giveaway be installed in different Direction, and BOTH versions still work independent from one another?

Shame on You ArcSoft! You had something nice, easy going, fun and affordable(!!) As usual - deciding that Market for Vanity has no limit in pricing.., correct??

It wasn't for pure vanity I found Your "Perfect 365" useful, it is in clever (read: sophisticated, read: discrete!) enhancement of face natural features and assets - I'm interested in. Yes, often automatically here (ease) applied. Purely funny, fun, funky, ridiculous even - can also be obtain in so, so many other Programs, not just this one, cheaper or for free.

I am ArcSoft loyal, old customer with many paid Programs. What's going on with Perfect365 is shameful!

Arcsoft Perfect365 installed an unwanted service, called Arcsoft Exchange Service, in Windows 7. The service was to start automatically, and log on in the Local System account. The service was to start executable files in the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Arcsoft\bin. The executable files in the Arcsoft folder were signed drivers that could have done anything. The service and the executable files were left behind by Arcsoft's uninstaller. This program seems more like a Trojan than a makeover program. Anybody who has installed this program very likely has the Arcsoft Exchange Service running now.

Hey Gimpites... you obviously don't need this tool, BUT... for the rest of us, I have 33 prebaked settings to play with. That's more variations than I could dream up using Photoshop, so this works for me... fast and repeatible. It does what it says it does quickly and easily. I probably won't upgrade beyond the "standard" version anytime soon.

Here's how the Standard version compares with the others offered by Arcsoft:

The program is good for Drag Queens or women, but not usable for men or children.

Unfortunately it does not support the most commonly used file types such as PSD - nor in the company's plug-in version for Photoshop.

I therefore continues using Portrait Professional that works as intended.

Agree with #6 Matt Byng that the installation and activation procedure doesn’t work. Required to close the program that never loaded based on an alert that appears to be a Windows error message, but isn’t. The message states that the program will not run due to a missing Windows component and requires shut down. After two installations/uninstalls due to this failure to start the program, I quit and highly recommend that you do not download or attempt an install of this program. Using Win7 64 with current drivers and updates.

This "Standard" version does not give you individual settings control over the templates, and does not work on Windows 8. The previous giveaway of the "Perfect 365" (without "Standard" in the title) DOES give you control over the individual settings on the templates. So if you already have the giveaway version _without_ the "Standard" in the title DO NOT UPGRADE.

My Perfect365 from GAOTD Dec 2011 is the full version i.e., Perfect365 (v.1.0.0.49) and not "Perfect365 Standard"! It has millions of settings/controls! So if you installed it then, DO NOT replace it with today's offer! PS It still works and does a great job.

In January of 2012 Giveawayoftheday gave away Perfect365 that I do love but can't afford it if I crash. Regular Price for it is $99.99.
This is Perfect365 Standard Regular Price is 39.99. Both are on sale. I won't take the chance of downloading todays offer and mess up my license on the better deal.I do think the program does a real good job. I do men photos on the Perfect365. I will never install another Arcsoft product.

It includes a service that runs at start up every time you turn on your PC. the name of the file is esinter.exe or esinter.sll

In a HijackThis log it's identified as ADExchange;ArcSoft Exchange Service. Sounds fishy, Ha?

For a photo program, why would this be necessary. ?

Look up ADExchange;ArcSoft Exchange Service through a Google search

Truly disappointing

Avoid it. Awful Product!! Two giveaways ago here gave a much better version. Activation process, one of the worst I've seen. Many complaints on their website forums about it - from PAID customers. From three giveaways ago, no improvement in the activation process - except they blame users - saying we insert a space before or after the number. Well I didn't.

I use ArcSoft software for a webcam. It was very good. After installing Perfect365 last give away here - Arcsoft - without permission downloaded TWELVE 14-day trial programs onto my PC.

Took an hour of online chat with Arcsoft getting details on how to remove them. Primary concern of the Arcsoft rep was did I have a valid license for PerfectStandard and the web cam software? (I DID) Then the rep wanted to take over my machine. No thanks.

I was sent three pages of instructions. The updater is installed as a PROCESS not a program. You must manually delete folders and files from Programs Data and elsewhere. Not for newbies. Those never installed programs still show up in my programs menu despite assurances they were removed from the registry.

Arcsoft was a good company with nice, helpful, support people. Then their prices became ridiculous and they started this auto install sales strategy which takes over your machine.

If you plan to try it, now you know what to expect. :(

Facts:
-This version it is called "Standard" does not have all the control like in the advertisement
-Very easy in use but with a few features

-It is a make-up software so it very useful if you are a woman or you need to edit photos of women :/
Very expensive in my opinion for a standard program. You can find many freeware programs like Gimp , Paint.NET OR PhotoScape which is an organizer and an editor with lot of tools all-in-one FREE

Downloaded and installed perfectly.
Very easy to use and if you are looking to change some photos for a laugh it's a bit of fun. This is not a serious tool to do anything other than for a bit of fun.
Needs to be far more 'customizable' if it's to justify the hefty price. Probably best to package it for the younger market... 'make your mates laugh!'
Uninstalled after having a laugh at my 20 year olds expense!

I downloaded and installed the very first offer that GAOD gave away almost two years ago onto my Win XPsp3 computer. That version did everything it was supposed to do Thank you giveway. Then when I got my new computer about a year ago Win7Pro 64 gig this software (version 1.8.3 was offered again. I immediately downloaded and installed onto my this computer. That is when I was disappointed because it was the standard version wherein you could not operate anything manually. You had to choose different styles but could not individually do anything else. When I registered the product, it gave me a license number but didn't change anything as far as what you could do with it. I have to use my XP to make beautiful pictures! However, I also downloaded and installed it from ITunes on my IPOD Touch; and everything worked on it.
I believe it was offered for free also on ITunes; and I put it on my IPOD touch and now with my new IPADmini, that same app works great on my IPAD mini allowing me to do things manually.

Agree with other critiques. The giveaway version seems useless. For developer: you have guaranteed that I will not consider your product. Practical notes in this giveaway - no gender selection, and no before/after viewing options. Without gender appropriate filters, some of the filters produce grotesque results in men.

I've installed Arcsoft Perfect 365, and now must uninstall it. The activation procedure doesn't work, and on closing the program I get a message that tries to look like a Windows error message, but isn't. The message says that the program will not run due to a missing Windows component and asks me to go on line to seek a solution. This looks like a scam. Much as I love Giveawayoftheday, I'll quit using the site if it keeps offering crapware like this.

So, after downloading the program, installing and activating. No problems encountered.

This is what bothers me.
"gives you complete control over every detail of your face in your portrait photo."

No. Complete control is reserved for the "Full" 49.99 edition. This is implying that it's 39.99 for a set of lame filters you can get for free elsewhere or if you are inclined to, learn how to do in photoshop in about an hour.

I love shortcuts, but this program isn't a real one. For the price I would never consider buying it.

Another complaint is the actual filters included with this version of the software.
They're all but 100% useless for men and folks of darker or yellowish skin tones.

Unless you prefer your males looking like effeminate drag queens before their wigs and costumes are applied. To each their own. I'm not judging anyone.

I honestly think I would have better things to say if this version wasn't so restricted in what you can possibly do.

Pros:Really easy to use.

Cons: Laughably overpriced.

Some of the available filters are hideous.

Customization is locked to the "Standard" version.

Only 3 of the filters are usable on males.

Lip Key points are horribly misasligned by default to anyone who isn't caucasian. ( Hilarious results with big lipped caucasians though)

Ease of use is not worth the price.

I'll take a look at Perfect365 later, as I recall the last version was crippled but broke the fuller version, so I'll have to uninstall and reinstall. It's now listed as freeware, but may be an upsell ploy. No, I'm going to comment on yesterday's animated Earth wallpaper, since no one reads late posts. The comments were atrocious. If you don't like that sort of thing, skip it and move on. If you have crappy graphics, you have no one but yourself to blame if you didn't invest in a decent graphics card or didn't update your drivers. Um, hello, it's animation of still images. It's designed for artistic effect, not realism. It actually looks decent on my monitor. Low-res, and generic "space" background, but OK. If you don't run security software, that's your fault. It never had a chance to set any startup entries on my PC. If you want realism, you can install massive programs like Celestia, Google Earth, etc.

The description is a lie. "Perfect365, one-click makeover software, gives you complete control over every detail of your face in your portrait photo." No ... it does not give me complete control. I have a set of presets and that's all. I tried it with a picture in which there were 2 dark skin spots. Using a filter it would remove one of them, but it would always leave the other. If it can remove one of them, how comes it can't remove the other? And if I really have "complete control" how comes I can't deselect any boxes or select others? The title has some impressive presets, but it's worthless if I have no control. This is the second time I attempted at activating this product and yet again, it doesn't fail to disappointing. I'll just keep using GIMP, that guy is completely free and does give me "complete control".

PS: The only way to get this "complete control" is to actually buy the product, but considering it doesn't show any sort of possibility of selecting certain areas to cover or etc. no matter how much you try to put this as "complete control", it just isn't.
