The spin is wrong, as it spins in the wrong direction. For example it should be CLOCKWISE why ? simply because the Sun rises in the East and sets in the West (FACT) so put a static point on say America and your spin backwards would be the other way around.
CHECK IT OUT !!

An idea to improve the layout would be to remove the light blue cloudy affect as there is none like this in the solar system except outside the milky way. The existance of nearby planets would be more realistic, BUT don't forget the direction of the spin !
Another thing is for to include a magnifying feature so as some days you can blow up or reduct the size of the world.
Please get back to me and report your findings.

Is there a way to turn off the automatic startup of the software? I would like to keep the software but want to be able to choose my wallpaper.

The animation is very unrealistic.
Uninstalled.

This image is pretty poor quality, I hate the way the "rotation" (or imitation thereof) looks.. as an alternative suggestion there was a Windows feature called Dreamscene, it was removed but you can find how to add it back in via google, it allows the ability to set a small movie clip (ex a highdef spinning globe) as your desktop background.. requires the use of Aero though (standard on all Win7 computers, although it can require large amounts of memory to run and make the computer slow at times)

@SK (Comment #13): What has probably happened is that your install of the software was most likely set to automatically update to the newest version (typically a setting somewhere in one of the menus for the software). Since GOTD's Terms for giveaway versions of most software don't allow for free upgrades, the software will revert to the trial version during the update process!

I've lost a LOT of really good software because of this "feature," which has resulted in my going thru any giveaway software I get from GOTD and turning the "auto-update" feature OFF if and when I find it.

The problem might be that you did not uncheck the Box "Check for

This does not work right on Win7 Ultimate SP1. I get a nice background, with what looks like a spinning sphere with different colored bands around it. It looks nothing like the Earth.

If I set it to "Stretch" I can see a partial image of Earth behind the sphere.
Nice idea, but doesn't work for me. Uninstalled.

I had no problems downloading or installing but, when I started the program, I got an error message about the 3D rendering program. I was not able to start the wallpaper even though I tried half a dozen times to rectify the issues. I am sure it's a great wallpaper, but, I was not able to enjoy it. I wound up uninstalling it. Thanks anyway GOTD, I'll be checking this site tomorrow (Sunday).

Fabulous Fantastick and Absolutely breath taking...
It's Free... $30 bucks worth it? I think I could find better uses for $30 like a 30 pack and a globe to sit and spin, but hey it's FREE!!

Definately a big thumbs up from me.
It worked perfect, it is the BEST wallpaper for the computer and is perfect for use, I have a lot of icons on the screen and all are completely visible.

For the record, I have a Windows 8, 32bit Vista, operating on a Toshiba Equium Lap top.

A big thankyou to all concerned

I also rotate images of my home state for my wallpaper. It would be nice to have it as a separate program or screen saver to look at when I'm in the mood.

Very disappointing, uninstalled immediately.

For anyone interested in much more realistic astronomy try http://project-metis.com/SolarSystem/ ...and it is free.

Has many but I found the view from Mars of the band between earth and mars plus the sun on Mars horizon, for our future Mars inhabitants, most interesting.

Interesting but not very good graphics. The control panel for the application provides few options and doesn't even allow you to disable the wallpaper. I was unable to save the changes I was able to make on the panel as when I closed and reopened they were reset to default. I'll stick with 3PlaneSoft.com for animated wallpaper.

Installs and runs beautifully on Windows 7. It is silly to complain about the "art", as every person on the planet can have a different opinion. I quite like animated wallpapers, and grab everyone I can. This one is nicely made, and does as it is supposed to do. Two thumbs up from me, and thank you very much ! :-)

What's needed is a animated wallpaper manager. Able to cycle through, let say every 30 minutes or every hour or so, from one animated wallpaper to another animated wallpaper within that folder.

HELP FROM PREVIOUS SOFTWARE AISEESOFT BLU RAY RIPPER. 3.Hello. I wonder if anyone could help me. I have correctly installed Aiseesoft Blu-ray Ripper 6.3 and correctly activated the previous day (May 10th) BUT today when I clicked on it to start it in order to test it, it says UNREGISTERED.

Could you tell me what has happened? The previous day (installation date) was running perfectly (registered version).

Thank you so much.

It make me laugh how they describe the planet Earth "What a Beautiful Place". Just a shame its ruled by despots and criminals.

Well, that was a waste of time.

What an appalling image, all I got on a windows 7 Pro 32-bit machine was a nice star-scape with a rapidly spinning ball of coloured bands. Looked more like Saturn but extremely accelerated, nothing like Earth at all.

@Tars comment 6. You are correct that you can set it not to start with Windows. But when you exit the program and restart it, it has reset to start with Windows. Try it and see for yourself.

There's no screenshots. We get to see one cheap inaccurate picture that shows few stars and they're distorted when they shouldn't be since there's no atmosphere out there to distort them
This is just plain cheesy.
Have a look at the picture and tell me what that big glaring mass is behind the earth. LOL!
A big thumbs down.

Installed on Win 8 pro. Quality is not good. The earth is not a true 3D object, rather a flat image that's being warped in a circular mask. Not realistic. At 8 bucks I guess you get what you pay for. Uninstalled.

@#3 Program can be set not to start with a Window's session in the settings.

download and setup was easy, these work great as long as you have the power to run them, good graphics, smooth running, does not slow my Dell N5050 Windows 8 Pro laptop at all, going to there website they have some really awesome active wall papers, is there a way to make a bulk purchase of all of them?

The last 3 or 4 of these animated wallpapers have been good but not great images. The worst part in my view is that they are always set to start with Windows. Meaning this will always be your wallpaper. I may like some of the images but I don't want this to be my permanent wallpaper. I use a wallpaper changer and a folder of close to 1000 jpeg's that change every 30 minutes. Why should I be stuck with this one? If you like it, by all means go for it. For me, I will pass. Thank you GOTD team for your hard work and to the publisher, AnimatedWallpaper7.com for your offer.

Why cant they include the panning function in their wall paper manager. The background could also have had more stars, moon & even Saturn. This is similar to astro gemini's 3D earth screen saver. Having both is quite fun. Its OK for someone who doesn't have their wall paper editor, but a pain for me who has their editor and both of their extension packs. I would love it if they could also include space ships and aliens.

For the price of a couple of these you could actually buy the Wallpaper Creation software for $29.77 and that would give you more bang for your buck versus purchasing some of these pre made animated wallpapers. Professional these are far from however if users think the price of the animated wallpaper is justified because of the visual stuff here. Maybe its good for XP users but otherwise I'd pass.
