I had the previous version so I was glad to get this. I found if I try to move the startup icon elsewhere it didn't like it. Minor point. Good app. as is BackUpper.

This software will not install. It will only activate. Then it stops. I disabled my antivirus (Windows Defender) and that made no difference. Never had this happen before.

glnman, just the same for me, only activated, but what? No program installed.

johnny, Yes, it does nothing after activation and now it's too late to install it. Wasted my time.

I have version 6.1 from a previous giveaway... it has ext2 and 3 support and no support for ext4 apparently the same with this 3 major versions on but at least it has a non-expiring license so I am sticking with the version I can rely upon being functional should I need it in the future.

This is my go-to partitioning app -- have it installed on all of our machines. It's not that I rework partitions that often, but when Win10 version upgrades required a complete install, at least one or two would randomly wind up with a 2nd Recovery partition. The WinPE version, included in the program's folder, also works with the generic WinPE USB sticks created with the Windows ADK, so no problem is the bootable USB sticks created in-program don't work for your hardware [my only *sometimes* complaint with AOMEI].

Question: If I go ahead and back up Windows system to a USB, this Giveaway says license good for a year... Does this mean that after a year, the data on the USB will no longer be usable?

AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro is Not a backup app -- their backup software is called Backupper. There are free versions of their partitioning and backup apps, & if the license expires they simply revert to the free versions, which are enough for many people BTW. That said, I've never had an AOMEI app expire before a new version was available on GOTD.

Used an earlier version of the tool on multiple occasions (e.g., to migrate partitions between drives and to manage partitions of the live drives), had absolutely no issues, the UI is clean and intuitive - look forward to upgrading to a newer version today, although 1-year license may be a deal-breaker.

I can't regested because I can't find a place to fill in the license

It may be using the registration info from an earlier version.

Hi. I have just installed but it is showing as the standard edition, and not pro. How do I fix this?

psg, I clicked on the Register button at the top and entered the Activation Code from the readme.txt file and it converted to the Licensed "Pro" edition.

Kurt - Is there a way to install this program directly onto a USB stick exclusively as a portable version WITHOUT first installing it on my PC? If yes, please explain how.
The download has only the typical "setup.exe" AND with a warning that anti-virus programs won't like it.
Thanks.

Partitioning apps use drivers so they won't work portably as-is. A WinPE version is included if that would work for you, &/or there are one or two apps for converting software to run portably, in a case like this installing & then removing the drivers when the app's closed.

is it possible to keep the time unlimited version 5.6 alongside this new version 9.3, or will the new version overwrite the existing one?

Kurt OM,
Given that v9-3 can now be run as a 'Portable' application, you can 'install' the newer version onto a USB stick and run the newer version from there - without it affecting your previous installation (which will be running from your HDD when you click on it).

JayUU, Just tried exactly what you suggested - Inserted USB drive, downloaded, ran install, changed path (sneakily hidden in right corner of install box) to USB drive letter and folder, hit install the program immediately detected and wanted to uninstall previous version. Unfortunately that suggests this is NOT possible to install as portable. WISH it would - that's basically all I'm using now.... I will check back later so see if anyone has guidance as to what I've done wrong. LOVE Aomei Patition programs. They are powerful, easy to use and have never failed me. Sure wish they were portable too!! Portable programs don't write to registry and I credit my preferential use of them for a glitch-free Windows computer that is over 10 years old and runs as fast as day one!

GAOTD fan, not really, if you have a previous version already installed on the system. Installing onto a USB drive still installs the program as if the USB was a permanent drive letter with start menu and uninstall database entries... The way to create a portable installation is via the option in the Tools menu. Assuming your systems system restore works flawlessly... you could create a restore point prior to this installation and removal of the non-expiring previous version, create the portable version on a USB drive that is activate and then restore back to the previous restore point without the current version and with the non-expiring version intact... and just to be sure you could also have made a backup copy of the non-expiring version program files (x86) folders just to be sure. I used the freely downloadable installer from the vendors website to ease complications.

TK, Correction on trying to create a portable version using the giveaway pro license I am interrupted by a little interstitial popup stating:
"Sorry. Create Portable Version is only available in Unlimited or Tech
To continue using it, please upgrade now."
Therefore the next best thing to a portable version would be to instead create bootable media. Next I have to find a USB drive with disposable content I can reformat.... to test to see if I the bootable media creator is available to Pro license users... and if it is possible to extract a portable version out of that...…...

Digit64,
i wanted to create the portable version on my second computer: only works with the technician or the unlimited version. Too bad

TK, how about installing it on a VM system and creating the USB from there? You can setup a VM system in very little time, install the new version, and then create a USB from the licensed version.

TK, now I'm confused... I installed Pro 9.3 on win10 system that did not have non-expiring license 6.1 version and used runasdate to wind year forward to 2023 and it still launched as Pro 9.3.... so created backed up Pro 6.1 under 32bit vista and installed Pro 9.3 in its own folder and let the installer remove the original Pro 6.1... created a 32bit WinPE under Vista and a 64bit WinPE under Windows 10... rebooted to BIOS setup changed date to 2023 and rebooted into the WinPE with the program only having the system date to go by as no network connectivity is configured for the bootable media... and it retained the Pro 9.3 license...
I am not sure what AOMEI are saying is licensed for 1 year... but the Pro facilities seem to be none-expiring as fir as I can test conveniently...
Generally with media partitioning software it is safer to use WInPE based offline version of the program than a portable online version since online partition manipulation is always a significant risk. While I do have working backups of AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro 6.0 and 6.1 I think it will be safe to keep 9.3 Pro and suspect the 1 year license is for updates to 9.x minor updates but cannot be certain unless a spokes person decides to clarify what is the 1year license for!

Kurt OM, you can keep both but why would you need to? They both do the same thing.
