I had purchased this software few years back. Compare to that old version, this new one became more complex.

Aml Pages version 9.88 build 2805 will work correctly with the license key from Giveawayoftheday-version.

After reading prior comments, then reading the info on this page:
amlpages.com/faq_portable.shtml
...I downloaded the "portable" version from the amlpages.com website, placed those files within that ZIP file into a folder on my FLASH drive as E:/Aml Pages Portable 9.88 , then copied the file amlpages.dat from the GOTD ZIP file into that same folder before successfully registering using the GOTD info in the Readme.txt file.
(NOTE: today this comment tool seems to not let me enter a backslash character -- for the path -- into my comment. I keep getting "wrong parameters" then the comment box empties altogether!)
From the instruction on that web page I then first tried Solution 1, then later tried Solution 2 (for good measure).
I confirmed the selection (in Tools, Settings..., Misc) is set to save "To ini-file" and that any "update" settings were disabled, toggled and changed some other settings, then entered some text as test information and saved it as "Test 1". A new file appeared in the folder on E: , Test 1.apd
It is now working on this PC -- thanks! However, I see no new "ini-file" created anywhere on that FLASH drive E: .
Also, I don't know if this is significant, but I noticed this in the log file:
MSPTLS.DLL: MSPTLS.DLL not found by GetModuleHandle
I clearly see that file exists in the same folder with all the others. No error is otherwise reported.
If I use later use this FLASH drive on another computer where it shows up as drive D:, will Aml Pages still work as a registered copy?

The file MsPtLs.DLL is need for using of RichEdit 6.0 in text editor only. This file is not needed all the time.

Is there any mobile app that can synchronize notes created in this program?
In 2019, I would like to have notes created on my desktop available on my smartphone as well.
If this is not possible, the program is useless.

-6? Wherever someone accuses the program, there are disadvantages. I bet it's the producer and his bots. Only someone so self-assured and interested in their product can think that synchronization of notes with a mobile device is not necessary.

Aml Pages Not Portable
Run in portable mode [as a portable app] Aml Pages adds roughly 200 entries to Windows registry and does not retain activation status. There are a few ways to get a portable version – from the File menu choose Portable & then restart as portable, download the .zip file with the portable version, or copy the program’s folder, and under Tools -> Settings set it to save settings in an ini-file rather than Windows Registry. The portable version from the .zip file includes a “RUN_PORTABLE.bat” file that starts the app from a command prompt with the /portable flag – I had to open the command prompt, navigate to the Aml Pages folder, type “AmlPages.Exe /portable” [w/out quotes], and press enter, because the .bat file would not run. It didn’t make any difference about retaining activation, though when I activated it this time a key file was added. There are 2 ways to activate Aml Pages – enter the name & key or import from .zip file, and there is a “GOTD2019_License.zip” file in the installed app’s [not portable] folder, which is by default located in the C:\Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Local\ folder.

Registry used for integration only. E.g. extension "apd" handlers, or registration of Aml Assist pane for safe mode of Internet Explorer (very thanks for the Microsoft)

I have a question on importing my info from evernote. The program looks like it might be better but I am getting an error when I try to import.
The error I am getting is a low on memory error.
I have plenty of memory as my computer has 64 gigs and I shut most of my other programs so I currently am using 8.1 gigs which leaves 56 gigs which should be way more than what is needed.
I have 7+ gis worth of files in evernote if that matters at all.

It starts to do the import but at some point the process quits and I get a pop up window telling me I am low on memory. It seems like the program is choking on the amount of files and spitting out the error message but like I said lack of memory is definitely not the problem.

It is the file you downloaded when you clicked on the "Download Now" towards the top of this page.
1. Download the zip file
2. Unzip the file
3. Open the readme
4. Click on the .exe file to do the install
5. Click on Help and then on Enter License Data
6. Copy the license info from the readme file.
Some of the GTOD's have a bunch of hoops to jump through but this one does not. It does not ask for anything at all, no emails or filling out forms which is cool as I have a low tolerance for hoops and usually just skip those.

The button "Get License From ZIP" extract *.dat file from the ZIP with license info.
But Giveawayoftheday-version already installed this *.dat file into the Aml Pages folder.
Copy-paste info from the file ReadMe.txt and press OK. The registration is done.

Vem Helst, I'm not sure if you solved this or not but here I go anyway. After you push the green Download Now button, put your email address in the box asking for it. A download link will be sent to your email. It's safe, it's a GAOTD option for you (if you don't want to use Facebook).

Had a bit of trouble getting it registered on Win10h64. First off, Windows Defender "protected" me from not running an unauthorized program. It looks like the installer is not signed or not recognized by Defender. I "ran anyway" and it installed fine. I followed the instructions for replacing the amlpages.dat file in the install folder with the one from the zip file. Upon running the first time it wouldn't accept registration data and gave an error that (among other things) mentioned I had to try as Administrator. Restarted app as administrator and entered registration data successfully. Now when I run it (not as administrator) it works fine and is fully registered. Thanks Aml Pages for an update to your wonderful program!

The AML Pages window sways and flickers. Beside, when keying in text, it would jump to the top. It's annoying to get back, repeatedly, to where text is being keyed in, wasting much time to get text keyed in. All these bugs have persisted in version 9.88 build 2804.
