Please read this guide if you are not sure how to register the software.
Step 1. Download Zip package from GOTD. Unzip the Package and run setup.exe to install the software.
Step 2. Run this software and a pop-up window will appear, which you can see the comparison between free trial and registered version. Meanwhile, just find and click the "Register" button at the bottom-right corner.
Step 3. You will be prompted to the register window, where you should click the “Get Free Registration Code” to visit the registration access page (https://www.aiseesoft.com/special/gotd/mobiesync/), where input your username and email address to receive the registration code for free.
We will send the free activate code to the email address you provided, please check your mail inbox in due time. If you don't see it in your inbox, just check the spammed emails.
Step 4. Return to the software and copy and paste the received registration code under “License Key” and click “Activate” to activate it successfully.

It works only with cable connection, no WiFi connection and it needs iTunes. Too many limitations for normal users and also considering the higher price. I haven't checked further, only uninstalled it.

On the website, MobieSync touts itself as an iTunes replacement. But in the technical specifications it states that iTunes Version 10.7 or above is needed, in order for the software to work.
The GOTD page says: " NB: The offer is valid for NEW users ONLY! "
But how would they know a user is "new"? This is a clear evidence that the software leaves behind remnants in your PC Registry. Then when you try to install this giveaway, it can tell that you have used a previous version - and block you.
This is a 1 year licence. Don't bother to install.

when you connect your phone, it will ask for your itunes backup password. it then proceeds to REMOVE the backup encryption password from your backup files. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

And a usual question: what does it actually mean that the licence is for one year, i.e. is this a trial version with a grace period exended to 1 year whereafter the sofware will stop working, or the 1–year period refers to updates, service support or other services.

peter, iTunes need not be installed, but the DRIVER which enables Windows to talk to the Apple device IS required. This question is asked every time some Apple idevice related software is offered. And the answer is always the same: NO. You can extract the needed driver from the iTunes installer, install it and throw away iTunes. However, I hate the giveaways which stop working after the specified time. No updates? I'm OK with that. And the arrangement on GOTD where they do not specify which policy is followed? Truly annoying. Gag! No reason to not simply state: "program will cease working after a year", or "there will be no program updates after a year."
Unfortunately with iPhone support programs Apple handles the issue. It is all too common for Apple to change things enough that these programs quickly become incompatible with the iPhone software or backup file format. If there were one which really kept up with Apple and new phones it would be worth a nominal subscription fee. Let me know if you find a program and company which does that.
