No 15 - Thanks for the tip! I have some questions about the correct version to use. There are a lot of versions at the site with very different version numbers. I found one - Version 5.20 -, which is the only one labelled as "English" but the readme file says that it is good for up to iOS 7.1.1.
Do you know if it will work with iOS 8 - 8.02?

I got this for the sole purpose of backing up and easily viewing my text messages from the last 3 years. It only displays 263 messages. Most of my texts are from my wife of the 263 the program displays, only one is from her yet they are all on my iphone 4S. What gives?

to barry barber, #22, you don't need to download 'all or nothing'. simply 'uncheck all', and then check what you want to transfer, and then click the icon on the bottom to export them.

I can't quite understand why this program will find a market, if file transfer is needed between PC's and iOS devices then something like Dropbox or iCloud will suffice, the real problem is between iOS and Android which this does not address. I use the free app Send Anywhere which will send files on a wifi network to both these, quickly, easily and free.

It's a good start. Provides a much easier way to manage some items on the phone than iTunes. Looks pretty good and after a little use, it's not that hard to use. I do wish you could use it to delete photos from the iPhone though.

The software downloaded on my Windows XP/S3 with no problems. I double clicked on the download, opened the Read Me file, and copied the registration code. Okay so far. Opened the program and discovered I had to connect my device via USB port prior to going any further. Once connected it was easy to find the preferences and deselect the automatic updates recommended by number 7. Mario (Thanks for the info!). The program scanned my iPod and gave me a summary of the contents.

This is where I discovered that the program appears to be an all or nothing transfer. In other words, it would transfer my entire iPod music, video, playlists, etc. However, I did not want everything, only some that I was missing. If there is a way to select only certain songs, playlist, artists, etc I would certainly like to know what how to do it.

If it is only all or nothing I guess I will probably never use it.

I'm wondering if this will work on iOS 8. I'll bet not.

Seems like it would be a useful program but its very slow. Takes about 20 seconds to load each section and my computer is fairly new. Disappointed that I can't export contacts to spreadsheet formats for easy editing (or maybe I can, just not familiar with importing those formats). Finally it crashed when I tried to upload an mp3, and it also stopped detecting my phone at one point which was annoying.

In the end I don't think its a keeper. Too many issues.

Have XP Pro and Win 7 Pro at home and returned my iPad to Apple when I learned I could not move files (like avi or mpg) from PCs to iPad. Was also shocked at how bad was iTunes.

i downloaded version 7.0.30 from gaotd on 26jun14 and am thrilled to see an upgraded version and i will be downloading (i wonder if i have to uninstall this older version or if it'll just update). i use this all of the time (yes, you have to have itunes installed). i use it to download photos from my iphone to my computer.

i have transferred an image from the computer to the iphone. i wish the image would go right back into the sequence of images already on my phone, but instead it goes into a separate folder. that i'm not thrilled with because i wanted the pictures to be next to each other like they were before i originally deleted it from the phone.

an interesting thing is that it gives the images their number rather than the date taken. at first i didn't like this but now i *really* like it. i, however, would like the choice of either date, or number but there seems to be nowhere that it gives the date the picture was taken.

the software also gives me information i can't readily find on itunes, for instance, the version of the operating system my phone has. very useful information to me. also a graph showing what percentage of my phone is used for music, photos, and 'other'. i would like to know what 'other' is: the videos i took? my apps? but still i do like knowing the amount taken up by photos and music.

it talks about videos in the write up. these are not videos taken by my iphone. i cannot access the videos i took with the iphone, it doesn't even show them. i don't know if this version will show them. i would like that.

it is a bit clunky and slow to download, or to pick the images you want, but once you allow it that, i am thrilled to have it. i have an iphone 4 so maybe it is the fault of the older iphone rather than the software, i don't know.

Agree about iTunes being a difficult unintuitive program. Will try this one out. But isn't it interesting that there's a total number of thumbs up/thumbs down of 572, yet only 10 comments at 9:38am Central Time? Waaaay out of even the usual quantities. Obviously the TU/TD system is not dependable as criteria for trying the software.

Anything to get around using iTunes is a thumbs up for me. Love my iPhone, but iTunes is one of the worst pieces of software I have ever used.

I've been using this for about 6 months (and wanting something like it for years before that). If you want to add music to your device and playlists without all the hassle of iTunes, this program does it. Have a song on a jump drive? transfer it to your iPhone with a simple click. Done.

I have the Platinum version 6.2.10 - the software tells me I have the latest version.
Does the version offered here add anything to the capabilities of the platinum version, because it is a later version number?

nice app for apple users today. here's the deal if you want to keep this nice app you must open program and go to the top of the screen and click on the third icon next to the f and click on preference then general and uncheck update automatic. Gotd don't do updates, upgrades, and or support. do that and you can keep this nice app. if you don't one week it will update and you will lose this app. so do the right thing dude and follow my instructions. have a good app day.

Apparently, you need to have Itunes for the software to be able to recognize the Iphone. As i don't want to install Itunes on one of my pC, this program is useless: uninstalled

Yes, this program still requires iTunes to be installed on your computer. Downloaded, installed, registered, run and uninstalled. I don't want iTunes (horrible program) on my computer.

Whilst clearly not worth $49.99, I find this utility very useful and consider it a definite keeper.

Certainly a lot more user-friendly than iTunes!

I do not think this software replaces iTunes. What it does is to
add more friendliness and convenience to iTunes, which is not a user friendly software. So you will still need latest iTunes version to run
any such third party software and enhancements.

From the description, it is much easier to manage my ios devices with FoneTrans than iTunes. Seems like a really useful software for iOS users. I will keep it and have a try with my iPad. Thx!
