I purchased this product over a week ago and despite sending in two email messages to their support with my purchase order ID, they have yet to send me a product key so I can register the product.

About the only formats that I have trouble converting are .rm and .mov files. Despite claims to the contrary, this doesn't work with either of them. Real media files give me an error message saying "decoder not found" while Quicktime files produce an Access Violation.

Uninstalling. I have better software to use with other formats.

This is simply echoing, but I also had activation problems (which were resolved by right-clicking and using "Run As Administrator"). However, there was one thing I quickly noticed - it couldn't import .mkv and .ogm files. While these are considered relativly rare formats, they were supported by the VLC media player.

It's as slow as a wet weak, WinAVI converted an exact same file in a 1/3 of the time it took Aimersoft.

Yes, like was mentioned earlier, there is no option to convert to DivX. Xvid is there, but no DivX. And yes, I do have DivX installed.

anyone else have troubles converting .mov (quicktime) files? when i convert them, it doesn’t show the image, just plays the sound. But, when i just open the file in quicktime, it works just fine. Also, i converted a file to .mp4 and .wmv from .mov, and it does the same thing (no image)…help please!

This program can concatenate the pictures I made with sound on my Sony digital camera. Best results so far using *.flv, ie YouthTube format.

@ 4 "so, on weekends, they will have games on this site, since everyone is on vacation.

I don’t like this game very much. No real plot, music, or challenge.
At least it’s not DoubleGames though, right?"

WTF are you talking about... this is software... not a game...

Wish I could use it but it clearly states that it needs Windows 2000/XP and I'm using ME, which is NOT 2000. SUPER(C) doesn't work for me either - that also needs Win2000/XP.

Vista users- after extract, be sure to run the Activate program as administrator (Right click>Run as admin). I ran it w/o the administrator , installed, then ran the activator with administrato and it worked. Just a hint.

Great proggie - I'd much rather have this than yet another Doublegames Sudoku or a Brave Dwaves episode. Appears to work fine on Vista after installing necessary codecs. Works like a charm, and much faster and less buggy that the crappy Blaze Media Pro I wasted fifty bucks on last year. What's not to like?

Definitely worth having - even a nice small download for you dialup folks. I'll admit I've seen some losers on GAOTD, but this one's a winner.

Nice Converter! I have a lot of FLV Files but haven't found a good converter.. Will definitely try this one!

PS: There is a better way for downloading YouTube Videos: http://vixy.net/

This site converts the FLV online and let you download a .avi oder only the sound as .mp3.

This program has issues. It gives an error "Failed to set date for 'Data'" when run without local admin rights and ask for registration. My question is why it has to write on the registration key every time it starts. Can't it just read and be good. This is first program I have seen that needs admin rights to change formats? Ashampo product is way better than this.

Don't believe me about the error, then run it as a restricted user. Why as restricted cause I like to know what is making or asking to change my system files!

Thumbs down!

First time responding because I actually like this software. I have several conversions programs and this is a good companion piece because for now I did not have the ability to convert flv to avi or something else. I tried a YouTube video and it worked great. No problems with registration either, for a change. *knocks on wood*

Nice converter - easy to use, and has a great interface/skin (just like it's sister product Aimersoft DVD Ripper).

I've had problems with videos exported from Adobe Premiere Elements - in the MPEG format - and had to use a crappy converter to post it on YouTube.

I tried to convert the MPEG using SUPER - it didn't work.

But it worked with Aimersoft Video Converter. To all those who are asking if this is the best (or if it is better than SUPER) my answer is YES!

SUPER is crap compared to this (plus SUPER's install is 25 MB in size, this is 1/5 of the size!).

Rather than thinking up these conspiracy theories you could think of a more logical excuse for all the votes.. Simple.. People google "video converter" and this site pops up... People go "Retail product..for free?!" and download and thumbs up and tell their friends etc.

Unzipped under XP. Ran Activate and it said it activated OK. Then ran sretup and it ran OK, but when I run the program it doesn't show me that the program is registered. Please advise. It looks like a lot of folks are having problems(although some are not). How do we activate for the full version or get the registration info?

MP3-Eating Worm on the Loose

Recent data Comscore indicates the average PC has 880 MP3 files on it … that makes PCs fodder for a new worm which Symantec calls W32.Deletemusic … and it does exactly what its name implies … deleting all the MP3 files on a PC.

The worm spreads via removable flash drives, reminiscent of the way viruses spread via floppy disks decades ago. That may be an attempt by the authors of the worm to bypass e-mail filters and Web gateway filters that block malicious software, Cluley said.

Symantec, which calls the worm W32.Deletemusic, said in an advisory that the worm copies itself to all drives on a PC. It also creates an autorun file to start itself whenever a user accesses a drive.

1600 thumbs up? Err...

That's a bit strange in my opinion, I've seen high thumbs up percentage, but never 98%, even though 25 people did not like it...

Someone's rigged the voting using some proxy, I'd guess, depending on if GAOTD's thumbs-up system runs by cookies or IPs (most likely IPs, because Cookies would become insanely annoying).

I'd guess that whoever did that created a program to work with a proxy list and a web browser, which clicked on the element in the page which is the thumbs up, then would roll through the proxy list, pick a new one, update some file inside of the browser to change the IP, and re-click it.

It'd take quite a bit of skill, and of course computer usage, but still technically possible.

Anyway, this is a great program for those people who aren't classified as 'Advanced' users of the computer; otherwise, it is a bit useless.

Most of the populous of the internet community are not advanced users, therefore it is indeed a good Giveaway.

Out of 10 points, I give this program a 8.3.

Loaded but didn't show as registered. Worked. Several times it hung and had to be cancelled by task manager. Kept trying to access the internet. When this was allowed it worked fine. When disallowed the program slowed noticeably.

Last time I went into Firefox my access to web was blocked if I refused to allow amerisoft connection at start up. I see no reason for the continuous web access. I am going to run my anti spyware programs to see if amerisoft has infected my machine.

Uninstalled and have decided not to visit gaod in the future. Not worth the hassles for clunky software.

Installed and activated easily. Converted a WMV to Xvid nicely. Not very fast, but seems to do the job if: (1) want/need something to convert between many formats, (2) dont fully understand the technical details of video conversion and are overwhelmed by all the options and settings in other conversion programs, (3) you are patient...very patient...like real time, and (4) like a freebie.

Only issue I have so far is clicking the "Effects" button just seems to hang the program. I'm sure there are no other conflicts as I am running it on a clean WinXP SP2 virtual machine without any other software installed. I test all my applications like this before installing to make sure I like it before I put it on my "real" workstation.

Really useful. I found that we can even trim the video going at closer frame. We can also cut it, covert has video preview too so that we can come to know about how much task has been finished so far. Shutdown afoter convert option is fantastic and really needful.I give full marks. Is it possible to give some more effects rather than just brightness saturation ? Then it would be even more great thing. Thanks for this.
