Acethinker Software, Can you please be clearer when you say "Please note: the program includes the one year license!" - Most submissions here have a licence that prevent the software being updated but will always work and that's what we expect here. So your statement could mean you provide free updates for a year but the outdated program will then continue working forever (ie its free) or it could mean the program won't work after a year (ie its a trial).

Acethinker Software, does your giveaway license include OCR functionality so one can convert scanned to PDF rasters to editiable Word documents or will it just produce a word document with one scanned image per page regardless of any text in the original document?

TK, sorry that it doesn't support OCR in this version. But it works well for converting normal PDF to desired working documents. Also it has extra functions like compress, split, etc.

AceThinker, I don't have a use for your software, but it's good to see that AceThinker are taking the time to reply to questions being posted. A lot of developers don't do this and it only leads to frustration. Keep up the good work.

I have just written to their support, about a feature that I believe is lacking from the program.
I am looking for the ability for the program to be partly automated, so that a human does not have to be constantly adding PDFs (or dragging/dropping PDF's) into the program.
There are 2 ways this can be partly automated -
1) Calling the program with a CLI (Command Line Interface), which tells the program which folder contains the PDFs, and also tells it where to save the converted JPGs.
OR
2) The program can have a couple of settings, wherein you save the location of the two folders (the PDFs folder and the JPGs folder).
When the program is running (minimized) it keeps watching the PDFs folder, and converts them to JPGs, as soon as it sees them.
I wrote to them a few months ago, But I only mentioned the CLI approach.
They did not have that ability, and they were not embarrassed that they lacked such an ability.
Now that I have described 2 ways of doing this, perhaps other users can see the benefit of this, and raise their voices in support ?

At the end of the trial year, can this SW be completely uninstalled and all changes undone? Does SW have option to do this? If not, will it have noticeable effects on my computer's functionality?

Just to say that if I was looking for trial software I would not go via GAOTD. Much software is always available as a trial. But having said that many thanks for all the free stuff and hope the developers are being helped by our comments and the occasions we decide to purchase a full licence.

Does this software create a "Print to PDF" driver? This way you have support from all apps. If not, can anyone recommend a free print to pdf program?

Jerry, I think AceThinker was struggling to avoid sayng no it does not include a virtual PDF printer in the program. CutePDF will print to PDF as will Nitro PDF reader version 5 free no longer available on the Nitro website but can be found on various freeware and shareware download services. There are others but I've always had success with those. CutePDF requires the instalation of the free ghostscript engine but I have good success creating ginormous high resolution Print ready PDF banners multi-meter wide. Most PDF printer drivers fall over when the page size gets tooo big.

TK, Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at CutePDF and Nitro PDF (older version). My usual needs are simply creating from any app (basically saving to PDF), removing a page (easy as you can just "print" selective pages to a new PDF), and lastly merging PDF files. Still need a good tool for this last one.

nene, our software does support compressing the file. Just run it on your computer, navigate to "Other Tools" on top menu and then go for "Compress PDF", hope it helps.

Unfortunately, after you have downloaded and installed and visited their website, put in your email address you are given a code. When i put this code into the appropriate place in the software to register, Activate VIP I got the response "Invalid Activation Code". What gives??

Hughjocapivvy, you have to create an account which invloves requesting the activation code using the Get button and they then try to send the actual activation code via an email to the email address you use to creat the account...
