abylon CRYPTDRIVE creates so-called container files, which are secured with the known encryption algorithms AES or Blowfish. Only if the corresponding key was used, the secured data show up in the file explorer. A key password can be entered with the keyboard, as well as by a chip card, USB stick or certificate. When Cryptdrive is opened, the contained files are displayed in the assigned drive and can be edited.

Was your warning about the possibility of not being able to access encrypted files due to OS updates limited to Cryptdrive or applicable to truecrypt and veracrypt as well?

I think TrueCrypt is no longer supported and you should use VeraCrypt instead,

I always use TrueCrypt Setup 7.1a for this kind of purpose, some data that u do not even use or know how to use it. This Internet really provides digital data that we think it to precious or we feel attached to.
This my friend is samsara.
So if u think this is the tool to collect such things then i'll probably leave it.
This kind of tools are rarely used. Encryption for home users, for what.

Lots of incompatibility issues with win10, 11. Not confident to install it and use it. When OS update happens, you may not be able to access the encrypted drive. Be aware of it.
