For all those who were getting the Path Error message, I wrote their Support Department and here is the response I received from Sharry Hou:

***********************************

Dear Richard Farina,

A customer support staff member has replied to your support request, #811745 with the following response:

Sorry for this problem. We have found the bug and fixed it. Please wait for the new version this week (after Wednesday).

At that time, you can re-download and re-install from here:

You can join in our Newsletter to get update news:

***********************************

Here was my response to that:

Thanks for your response. But here is the problem. I installed your product as part of the GiveAwayOfTheDay.com promotion and that is now over. I realize that you did not know your product had a bug but will you once again offer it as a promotion there this week once the corrected version is available. I can only imagine that if you don't, you'll get very poor and unfavorable reviews on your product and your support.

Please advise.

Rich Farina

**************************************

So, here's my question...

Will this product be offered here on GiveAwayOfTheDay.com with a corrected "unbugged" version later this week? After all, you usually do "reruns" when this happens.

Please advise.

Rich Farina

Windows 7, i7, 64 bit, 8GB RAM - Program downloaded and installed without problems. No problems with registration. The first time I used it I got the "...pathway cannot be found" message. Closed the program, waited a minute, opened the program and it's run fine ever since. Nice program that does what it's supposed to do. (Kids will like the option of turning the pages by clicking and dragging.)

Okay. I am one of those people that have Power Point (MS Office 2007 Ultimate Owner)

I played around with this particular product and it's okay to an extent. I'm kind of thrown off that MS Powerpoint is a pre-requisite to this program. I also found that if you have too much content in a Power Point file. the program crashes or complains about a workstack overflow. This product must have been meant for basic tasks but for complex situations with lots of content this program absolutely bites. I wish I could give this more of a positive review but with a slow interface , slow program experience this program is not worth the time of my day to figure out more comprehensively.

A few problems trying the freeware version for OpenOffice;-
The link created on the desktop points to a non-existent EXE file!
When trying to open an OpenOffice file the program locks!
When published the demo file produces 12 blank pages!

Not my favourite piece of software!!!

it's better than the standard I got in april ... using it in 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

The pdf to flip standard would not change scenes this one does. Plus I am more of a fan of powerpoint than pdf's for creating flip books, so woo hoo.

It installed and registered without a hitch.

But can someone explain 'themes' to me?

Thanks for the great giveaway!

Today was my second attempt at getting this to work on Win 7x64 Ultimate. I installed it to same directory as previous giveaway, no problems installing or registering, but I keep getting an error message indicating an access violation at the end of a project, even though it is clearly accessing the source ppt file. (Note that this is not the same "path not found" error that others have reported.)The end result is nothing, which is exactly the same as the previous GOTD. Any suggestions?

I have PowerPoint 2010 and this is a super useful addition. I don't really understand the negative feedback. Why in the hell would you want to use this product unless you already had Powerpoint?

It is very easy to use.

I think the price is a little high for personal use, but PowerPoint is really a business application anyway.

I have downloaded some good software from GOTD and I am grateful for that. With regards to this piece of software...I have 2010 MS Office Professional, which of course includes Power Point, yet this software is giving the error that PowerPoint is needed and must be installed. How much more installed should PPT be than having a paid for version of MS Office professional that is used daily in my small business? Time-waster.

I went out for a while and just tried again. All my powerpoint files now upload into the program with no problems. I used the same two that I tried with earlier. Not sure why, but it is working now for both ppt and pptx files.

I had the same problems. The path was not found. So I was thinking about the reason and I had reboot the system (Windows7 Ultimate (64), Powerpoint 2011)). Now it works really fine. The result is reasonable. It works also very fast. It is also possible to define the output poth. For me it is really a keeper. I apologize for my English. I am not a native speaker.

I finally had some time to install the program and now I get the reason why everybody votes me down @1

I tried installing but it doesn't work without Powerpoint (#1 is false, I can confirm now). No reason to vote me down however, I was only reading the requirements before I had the opportunity to install something (and it made me happy but I had to go elsewhere first). Was I wrong or are the requirements wrong. Note: Powerpoint is required, but not stated.

It's not necessary to out-smartass me with lines like "it seems natural that you need powerpoint". Why would that be? My powerpoint reader does not use Powerpoint and can render the presentation (#9) without it.

Do I have to be able think and recalculate everything before I install something or should I be able to trust the stated requirement.
Why are the requirements there when you cannot trust them anyhow?

So now I start thinking things out and I wonder if something else but the program is needed to render a presentation, why not use the free powerpoint reader that can do all tose magic things. Obviously the rendering-part was omititted in the program.

Pgeflip for Powerpoint meant to me for using powerpoint-files. Is that really so unconceivabe?

If the requirements would have been complete I could have avoided the disappointment, I could have avoided smartasses making me look like a moron and all down voting me, I could have avoided spending this much time with it, I could have avoided installing and uninstalling and cleaning up the debris (though I got "MS Power Point is not installed" but did not know it to be trusted completely or not. I can easily see how someone could mess up things without any cause when information given is not to be trusted.

Yes I do think the requirements are to be complete and either gaotd or 3pageflip software co. should have taken better care for that.

So guys, is there a way to point the program to the rendering features of powerpoint reader? This would be cool! The reader is als from microsoft I will not be that different from the full powerpoint program (yes lecking edditing stuf ofcourse, but I don't need the edditing stuff). Is this a strange thought and will everybody be donvoting me again? I just don't know that much about computing, I merely try to enjoy it. Is that an offence?

Well, installed fine on 64-bit win8, but everytime I try to create a file it asks if I have PPT installed (I have Office 2010 with PPT), when I click on ok it gives me an address violation message.

It was clear to me that a product called "for Powerpoint" would be an add-on *for Powerpoint* and of course Powerpoint would be necessary to use. Perhaps the developer and/or GOTD should make it more clear in the description for those who skim over the title and mistakenly assume this is a PP alternative or a complete OS.

I occasionally prepare powerpoints of step-by-step instructions. I think this will enhance those powerpoints so I will install.

@FrancisBorne, thanks for the welcoming but I'm not so new here; I have been visiting GOTD for two and a half years, but I only today registered, and because of some reasons I don't comment so often (that's ***not*** because of the votes you're going to see below my message :) ).

My user name should not be mistaken for that of "watcher13", who is older here and more technical.

No, I'm not a member of OptWin Software. I think I share a common thing with the company but I don't have any relation to it.

I'm having the same problem as #8 Pradeep. I tried two different PowerPoints, even saved one as ppt instead of pptx to see if that would work. I continue to get the Error message: Cannot open file “C:ProgramData\Styles\Panoramic|Ray|Seq.txt”. The system cannont find the path specified. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I'm the webmaster at an elementary school and I would really like to have this program work.

I like many others use open office and find this will not work with it.
I ran the demo and it seems to be a great program
any chance of having a program that will accept open office files please?"

Their store lists several versions -- today they just happen to be offering the one for PowerPoint. The good news is that the version that works with Open Office is free.

I'm with William on this one. 99 bucks is way out of proportion for what it does. For a little more you can get an entire OS and do what the heck you want with it. I think considering you need the MS Office package installed in order to use it, I don't reckon this is worth the hassle tbh.

I'm also pretty certain there must be freeware equivalents to this....I'm sure Giovanni might point us out in the direction of them if they do.

I found this software interesting especially the concept of converting PPT to flip-books.
Installed and registered without any issues.
Opened and found that we have options to download new templates (good). I found they have nearly 100 templates available online.
Downloaded few template and seleted one to crete a new flip-book.
Aftere selecting a PPT, what happened is, it opened the PPT in MS Power Point (may be they are rendering the presentations, hence without MSPowerpoint you can't use this - too bad).
But now is the issue. After selecting the PPT and waiting for it to load in the template, oh I got an error "CANNOT OPEN FILE C:\PROGRAMDATA\3DPPT\STYLES\PANAROMIC\RAY\SEQ.TXT. THE SYSTEM CANNON FIND THE PATH SPECIFIED".
Oh did i miss anything here? I thought it might be due to one of the downloaded template, so closed and started from beginning with standard template, but again i got the same error?
Any suggestion?
My specifications: Win 7 64bit, MS Powerpoint 2010.

Hi,

I'm an amateur fashion photographer and I help aspiring fashion models prepare their portfolios for presentation to prospective clients during their "go to's".

I have three questions:

(1) can you put the final product on a flash drive for presentation?

(2) does the client have to have Power Point loaded on their computer to view the flip book?

(3) will I have to create a power point presentations of the photos before I create the flip book or can I load the photos directly into a file for use without creating a power point presentation first?

Thank you in advance for your help.

1. First of all, it seems natural that you need powerpoint in order to TRANSFORM your presentation into a flip book
2. Therefore I don't understand the above guys who complain when given a chance to use this free soft to ENHANCE their presentations
3. when you are given a free gift say thanks and use it or not but be don't criticize as if you have pay loads of money for it

Imagine a program that says for POWERPOINT requiring you to have POWERPOINT!

C'mon people... no reason to knock the giveaway.
Does it do what it says?
Is it worth having for FREE TODAY?
It's for POWERPOINT, I don't have that, I use Corel. So I can't download to try :(
But, I'm not going to bash it because of my own limitations.

By the way, anyone know of a program that I can use to staple documents onto my monitor since I can't?

Ninety-Nine buck for this program? For a few more dollars you can have the full Office with Power Point itself. I just don't see a market for this product. Since I have the full Office Pro installed I'll pass.

Warning : MS power Point must be installed on your PC
Question: Is ePub an output format ?

I was interested to convert PPT to ePub.
On the features pages it is unclear if the ePub format is an output one, but I was ready to try it !
Installed, opened the soft and...the following message was displayed "MS Power Point is not installed". Yes ...I've only a PPT viewer !

From a user's perspective I dislike all individual presentations where I can't affect speed and are unable to jump between pages or scroll up and down etc., thus stealing my valuable time. I'm remembering a flip book catalogue with bath interiors (tiles etc.) where I couldn't magnify the details and had many problems comparing different pages far apart. I had to print those pages. Perhaps it had been flash, but you can see the same problems.

If possible I therefore do open PowerPoint (.ppt) files with OpenOffice/LibreOffice and look at pages one after theother.

Perhaps this soft is apt for presentations in public.

Friends send me loads of funny ppt-files every week. I don't have MS Office but I do have a powerpoint-reader.

With this software I can present the presentations in a more appealing way.

It is stated: System Requirements: Windows XP/ Vista/ 7/ 8

This means I don't need Powerpoint to use it. Thanks guys, just what I needed.
