GREAT SOFTWARE!! Downloaded and installed in minutes, was burning DVD's and watching them on TV is less than 20 minutes. The burn process takes a little time, but the quality is super. I am very impressed with this product and will probably buy one of their higher end products. I am very impressed. I highly recommend.

Very simple program but very useful. Pretty decent transitions to select from. Not many and not many options, but pretty stable and very valuable for being free. I'm not complaining. Actually, it is very useful for me because you can burn FLV (Flash video, i.e. You Tube) files which is something I was wanting to do.

Thumbs up!

#55 Drama Queen: Did you figure out how to get the 'templates'? I'm having the same issue, reinstalled, tried the trial and nothing gives me MENU Menu, Frames, or Button.. The left side is completely blank!

I'm guessing this problem is maybe specific to what else might be installed. I noticed the log.txt file that get's put in the base program folder is complaining about a few dll load errors. I also have Nero 7 installed and see that this program is trying to test for it. Sent Wondershare a email on this problem, Hopfully they will answer. Will post the response if it fixes the problem.

Did anyone get the add-on DVD menu 'templates' to work? I downloaded and installed from the menu page and although It created a 'templates' subfolder, the program does not appear to load or make them available!!

When I initially installed Wondershare I too had the "registration page". I came here to read the comments and quickly discovered that I had to first click "activate.exe" then run setup. I did not have to un-install in order to correct the problem. I simply unzipped again and proceeded as explained. Seems to be working fine. It is a program far easier to understand and burn than going through all the hoops that Roxio requires you to do. I give it a thumbs up!

Using Vista Home Premium, I was able to successfully activate and install the progam as an administrator, but like #53, all I got were black screens for the previews, non-functioning editing buttons, and the program hanging to the point where I had to kill the process in Task Manager to stop it. I even tried running it with UAC completely turned off. No dice. The uninstall program left a file on the system that I couldn't remove until I set my system backward using System Restore.

Looks like it might be a nice program, but it wouldn't work for me.

Yet another bogus program. Several of these recent jokes claim full windows compatibility but will only work on XP. They might be good but those who avoid XP for security reasons will never know since they can't install. What a waste of time.

#75, if you're running Vista, you have to right click the activation file, "run as administrator" and it will sucessfully register even if you've already run setup (in my experience, at least).

I agree totally with #82. We all must judge for ourselves the efficacy and centrality of the offerings by GOTD. The fact that something is free does not automatically make it not worth rejecting as useless. Freeware alternatives may portray the same features as commercial-use software and still be inapplicable or excluded from consideration as worthy.

#27 & #39 Jonathan - What the heck were you trying to copy to DVD for your "QUICK" trial? Must have been a monster file not to fit on a 4.7gb disk.......have you ever tried 'DVD Flick', the open source and free video to DVD software? It is a very good product.

Can I just explain how I successfully activated this program (using XP Home), in case it helps anyone.
When I downloaded the files, I extracted them, and clicked on the Activate file. This opened a separate folder with an Activate icon and a setup icon. I clicked on to the setup icon and installed the program. Then I closed the program. Next I clicked on the Activate icon, and got a message: Activation is successful. Then when I started the program again, it was a registered version.

When using Vista, people sometimes have problems activating a GOTD program, which can be solved by making sure you're logged in as Adminstrator.

It is very slow to burn DVD with Wondershare. I like Cucusoft Mpeg/Mov/rmvb/DivX/AVI to DVD/VCD/SVCD Converter Pro which is easy to use and powerful for experts as well. It enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, SVCD, MPEG1 and MPEG2 format. Pro version included all the features of the lite version. In addition, it has embedded "DVD Author Express" and "DVD/VCD/SVCD Burner Engine". So it becomes an all-in-one VCD/SVCD/DVD Creator. And it has been optimized for 64 bit CPU. More information here:

trim : freeze
edit : freeze
preview : nothing
log file says : "audio player init fail"
uninstalling : just fine

Another Wondershare huh? Based on the comments I (again) will not bother. Plenty of freeware choices to do all this Burner claims to do. Most positive comments only do 'wow' but explain little, the more negative comments maybe go bit overboard at times but raise enough serious concern to skip the product (what now a non-working preview, even that alone makes this product worthless compared to others). GOTD, for a site claiming to cater for many a need you seem to depend on Wondershare a little too much. As no doubt Wondershare needs you for an audience even willing to try their products. Shame on you both.

This one is at # 62.
Hey Sean, quite the possibility you could setup an auto schedule to automate the install process. Though first extract all files to a folder before setting up the install.

You are correct if you try installing after the GOTD offer expires.

For ALL GOTD people who have trouble registering:

1. Extract all files from the ZIP file to a folder of your choice.
2. RUN the ACTIVATE.exe program "first" (must be connected to the
. internet to register)
3. After Giveaway of The Day has registered your program.. RUN the
. install program from the folder containing the ACTIVATE.exe file.
. by double click on the " SETUP.exe " file to run.

Be sure to be logged in as Admin or run as administrator when you are installing.

In brief, all great programs I have downloaded were installed without a hitch.

Have a Great Day Everyone.

Jeff.

Once again thank you so much to GOTD and Wondershare once again for your wonderful giveaway,

Download and install without a hassle. Wondershare have proved to be one of the best brand among others from this site. I agree with BladedThoth that the interface is not as 'attractive' as rest of their products. But the Menu graphics and transitions are really great. Hopefully the issue about the preview and so on that he mention did not happen to mine. :)I am sure I will have good use for this.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Forgive me for not having a clue, but I have a stupid question to ask. I'm off to a foortball game this evening right after work, followed by a party. I won't be back home to my computer until likely 2am. Am I correct that if I download to a flash drive, then try and install at home tomorrow, it won't work? What'll happen? I won't be at my computer until after the giveaway is over, so I miss out, yes?

I will stand by my comments to yesterdays offer again today for this offer. Animate your presentation, add your own graphics, choose your layouts, add your one voice clips to the slides, add music backgrounds, coordinate the slides in logical order to tell a story and set the speed or fade, dissolve, morph, flip. With free add-ons available all the time and import capabilities, Microsoft (A trusted name) gives all t he benefits that this program claims and gives working tutorials to help guide you with starting templates The sub-title feature that is being raved about is capable also with powerpoint by inset of a text or picture box, enter your pic, graphic, or text and then set the background as clear. As I stated yesterday, Why would I want another program that is not needed bogging down and cluttering up my drive space?

Will NOT convert 3GP (Cell Phone Video) files as described in offering. I get an error message: Failed to create decoder. Files cannot be imported.

On the GAOTD Home page, I found this: Wondershare Video to DVD Burner is a fast video-editing and DVD-authoring application. In just five steps, you can easily convert and burn all popular video files (AVI, MP4, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, ASF, RM, RMVB, DAT, MOV, FLV) to DVD for backup and enhancement.

3GP is there, but the files will not work with the program. On an older computer of mine; I had an AVS program that handled the 3gp format with no problems at all. I was in fact able to convert the files and burn them to DVD. No good for me. Score 2/10 :{ :[ :(

#53.. after you load the video, you have to 'drag' it down to the little boxes on the bottom. So far mines working fine, I can preview it or not. So far it's converting, and I do like the fact that it CAN be minimized so it doesn't 'take over' the computer like some other programs do!

I can load the videos but no video can actually be previewed it's just a black screen. I, further cannot click on the edit button without it going into a freeze mode and then the audio sample that plays from clicking the button just continues real fast indefinately. Essentially all it does is allow me to load the video, I cannot process the videos to a dvd. So this software on my computer does not work at all and I checked the requirements from their site and it appears I have all that I need but it just doesn't work. I unistalled and re-installed as well. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Definitely another optional tool in the toolbox. The interface is easy to understand, and if it isn't, it has help files ;). I have downloaded and later purchased Wondershare products because of the trials offered here. This is another tool which will come in handy; it does work and produce as described.

I have other programs that I use for the majority of the functions available in the program, but that's not to say that this is any tool to be ignored for video backups and storage. I produce on average 5 - 10 short video clips each week, and this would be a good archive tool for a quick down and dirty to keep them archived. If you don't at least try it, then you have not learned to take advantage of trial offerings.

Regardless of reviews made here, it is an offering to look at and works well for what it does. No issues with the interface or results.

Naturally it isn't for everyone or even the self-proclaimed professionals who will try and steer you away from the free trial. For the price, which doesn't always give you an indicator of a programs ability anyway, it is functional and easy to use. Besides it is free today, so take advantage to see if it works for you! Don't let someone else tell you that it just won't work for you, make an independent decision. Not saying it is for you in particular, but it does work.

Worth a try to see if you like it, and if you don't, uninstall it...no harm no foul.
