Can never understand many of the negative comments......GAOTD WILL never be able to have a program to suit everyone every day.....that's life so why post a negative against this program when you don't even have an ipod????? like you won't have tried the proggy so why can you be negative about it????

I do not think this software is proper for me. I think some all-in-one software like this Ultimate DVD Video Suite which can make DVD, video, YouTube video, etc to iPod maybe better. Because I really not just want to make some videos and photos to my iPod, I also want to play DVD and more on my iPod, mabe some times iPhone, etc.

it is very similar with iPod Movie Make which can capture video clips from your camcorder, add various video files, edit your home movies right on your computer and turn your digital media into memorable projects on iPod to share with family and friends. I also have tried this software. I thinke in some spects, it is better than wondershare.

It is great for someone who like make photo slideshow on iPod. But I like the this iPod Video Converter suite better, it can convert both DVD media and video file media to iPod Touch/Nano/Classic/video/movie.And the Wondershare ipod slideshow can not convert DVD to mp4 for iPod. It is a pity.

Has anyone else noticed that even after activating the software, if you click on Help and then Register, the info is empty? Normally it will have GIVEAWAYOFTHEDAY. Hmmm, wonder if it will still work after the trial period?

Can the evaluation imprint only be removed by registering? I am don't understand why this is considered a giveaway when it seems more like a free trial.

Read the version number for a guide to it's desirability. '1.00'
I wouldn't use any 1.00 software, even for free.

What's the point in a slideshow program for an iPod? It's not like you're going to be using it for a seminar any time soon!

#16, the help file says that DRM'd audio clips cannot be used.

This is fun to play with, but it's buggy, and the 320x240 resolution limit is annoying. I didn't experience the video problems that #16 mentioned, or the transition problems that #25 mentioned. But it does have a lot of bugs. Some of the transition previews didn't complete; I didn't use those, as I assume the output would have the same problems. The Ken Burns effect preview window didn't work at all. The program crashed frequently, but the generated output was OK. I tried a few JPEGs, a WMV file, and an MP3 file. You get the audio from the video clip and the MP3, but there's a checkbox to eliminate the audio from the video clip, which worked fine. Since the MP3 clip was longer than the combined total of the videos, that's how long the output was. I selected the MP3 and checked the "Auto Synchronize" box, and it trimmed the MP3 to the length of the videos. It's important to note that there are 3 parameters for each transition; if the transition doesn't do what you want, it's probably because you didn't set those parameters. Note that when you apply the same transition to all transitions, you may also want to apply the parameters to all transitions.

For a neat online site that automatically converts images and music into videos, try Animoto.

As so often with Wondershare programs, the term "iPod", "iPhone" etc is included to drum up topical interest and as such sales from those who own Apple's products - but I do fear that Wondershare are selling themselves short as they risk losing so many other sectors of customers who may not necessarily own i-anythings but who can still use the software.

Whenever Wondershare offer a program that is promoted for iPods etc video format the programs are by no means restricted to those devices; any user can utilise the software to create bespoke mp4 videos to be played on such a wide variety of devices - in fact, anywhere that mp4 can be played, probably the most accessible to all being Windows Media Player. A recent program billed as being for iPhones (which I do not own) enabled me to instantly create a section of a DVD movie and turn it into 3gp format which immediately played on my mobile phone - not associated with Apple in any way!

I do think that Wondershare are doing themselves a mis-service by promoting their fabulous tools as Apple-orientated - download the programs reagrdless of whether you own an i-whatever or not - I promise you will be pleasantly surprised when you see what the software can do for YOU!

Actually, the old iPod Nano can play video, as long as you install iPod linux on iPod Nano, it will enable your iPod Nano play music video and games, here is a guide about it

Download OK, install OK, but it's not work on my windows vista, what's wrong? As for me, I prefer this iPod converter, the conversion speed and quality are much better than wondershare, it also supports iPod Nano and iPod Touch, here is a step by step guide about it.

In reply to the above comments on the Nanos (And reinforce #24) the new Nanos do, in fact, play videos. They have a 320x240 screen as well. Here's a link to the new Nanos:

http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/

As well, the new iPod Touch is 480x320 resolution, where this application caps out at 320x240. Honestly? With the release of the iPod Touch, this application and Wondershare iPhone Slideshow should be merged into one title.

Waste of time.
Looks good, and does the job quickly, but does not have a fully-featured set of controls. The default transitions are set to random, and the command that *should* apply transitions to all transitions at once did not produce the desired result. Hence it becomes too fiddly to mess with, and I have uninstalled it. There are other, better programs.

As I often said, I find it completely dumb to have such specific converters, especially when the concept is as lame as doing a slideshow a stamp-sized screen.

Thumb down for the poor concept and this stupid marketing strategy.
This being said, Wondershare products are usually well done pieces of software.

iPod Nanos obviously don't play videos.

As long as you have a portable media player that plays video, then it would work.

Wondershare iPod Slideshow is very unusual, with the lack of grammar checking and the sound is dodgy to me.

You know, it appears GAOTD is down to about 3 different software companies and they are continually rotating the items from these same 3 companies. 3 days in a row last week, we got backup utilities.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that tomorrows freebie will be a video converter that is a repeat from last month.

Of course, it does not support iPod Nanos (referring to #1 and #2).

If you read the full details of the giveaway, it clearly says:
Generate to MPEG-4 format quickly and share your professional-looking on iPod anytime, anywhere!

But it doesn't have to mean that it's just iPods that can see it. Any portable media players that play MP4 videos are going to simply view it.

Downloaded from the mirror. Before the program opens, a warning box with squares instead anything writen appears everytime, wich does not let me feel very safe at the soft. It has a good looking and easy interface, and does the job it says, but again the warning box makes the final score low. 6/10

I had some hopes of using this to give a friend an easy way of editing video.. but the hopes were quickly dashed.

This really is awful... it's one of those applications that could have been really nice as a general tool but was hacked up into some "Me too" quick-sell ipod accessory.

The video input supports direct show... kind of. Usually they will appear inverted and mirror images.

The output is limited to 320 x 240 for no reason limiting it's usefulness as anything else than an ipod converter.

The sound works only sometimes.

Spelling errors a plenty "Repalcing" a file.

It's got a promo link as with all wondershare applications to "Buy me"

The thing is obsessed with outputting to ducuments and settings.

it's made up of badly coded MS visual c and the images that make up the program are all over the place.. ugh.

Avoid... Some Wondershare programs are at least slightly usable though.

Nice iPod Converter, install OK, but the conversion speed is a little slow. I'd prefer Aimersoft iPod Converter Suite, it can rip DVD and convert all formats video even youtube flv video to iPod. It embeds an iPod manager that can help you copy music and video from iPod back to computer, that's really cool. And it also supports the new iPod Touch, iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Video, etc. Here is an officil guide about it.
