After I have tried the iPhone slideshow, I find it very easy to use.
Although I have no iphone now, but I can watch the slideshow on the preview and output it to video file which can be played on my PC. I am look forward to having an iPhone, and I will have one in future. Thanks a lot for this program, it lets me have a fun of iPhone. However,it is a new invention which should be improved. I hope that I will use the iPhone slideshow with more powerful function when I own an iPhone.

Just a note that I found my DivX conversion tool (from DivX.com) stopped working until I installed this. It takes over settings--I have freeware that behaves better than this!

Okay... so it shouldn't be caled the Wondershare iPhone slideshow.

If I had put some thought in it, it could have been called, "Wondershare mp4 slideshow".

That way, nobody would cause a controversy then.

I can't see why everybody's whining, did I miss something? I don't have an iPhone either but I can still use the software to make a video that I can view on my computer, burn to dvd or cd - so what's the big?
These people are nice enough and generous enough to put up a piece of software that you get to download for free and yet you complain. I, for one, am very pleased to be able to download anything for free let alone software and I thank the creators of this site from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you so GOTD , Wondershare for your great giveaway!

I am very impress with Wondershare softwares. This is so far the best quality software for the whole week . Photo Story is a great software and I have a lot of fun playing with it. Thanks

Thanks bladedthoth for your great review. If I didn't know that there are more special effect apply to the slideshow, I won't download it. Thanks to all readers who reviews useful comments after trying it. I can make use of this to make great slide show. Have a great day.

I can't believe the bad ratings on this software because people don't have iPhones. If you can't use it, don't, but don't give the software a bad rating -- that's just crazy.

Now, with that said, I DO have an iPhone and I plan to try this product. So thank you GOTD, I appreciate you guys (and wouldn't fuss and give it a thumbs down even if I didn't own this *ahem* uber cool little device. ;o)

Note to Wondershare: did Apple or Ken Burns license their names to this?

I can't complain about the English, since my Chinese is worse.

Hi,
thanks for this programm. It runs fine - even I manage it.
But where is the registration code?
And there is annother strange thing : when I start the prog a notice appeares - it says :
"Warnning" (with 2 n) then there is a yellow exclamationsign, 2 unreadable words and an OK-button. After clicking, the Programm starts.
(I hope my english is readable...)

Downloaded and installed fine.
It was fun to play with and add transitions to the images. I added audio and selected sync audio. The audio is cut off suddenly when the pictures end - a fade out would be good. I was disappointed about not having a customized resolution setting since mine was not one of the predefined sizes. The output looked fine on my computer screen and the audio was nice and loud. I only converted 12 pictures with one mp3 file. It took 90 seconds. Since I have a Chinese MP4 player, it doesn't actually play mp4s so I have to convert that file to an avi in order to view it on my player.

PS: I wouldn't pay a monthly fee to visit this site. I like that it is free and there are some great things offered here, but I do go a long time without downloading anything. And $25 is horrendously high - and a lot more than I pay to access the internet.

Well a bit late in the day but should help some of you.

I have just compiled a series of photographs and made an MP4 using this prog with Bob Marley as the backing.

I then converted it to run on my windows mobile lobster phone using a previous giveaway Video Converter from Aimersoft.

It worked perfectly, so this is to show that you certainly DO NOT need an iphone - Just a phone (or any other mobile gadget) that plays vids.

Thanks for this GAOTD. worthy gift.

This is one of those D'OH's
For those of you not in the know it does translation to the MP4 format...that means that you can copmpress a substantial file down to the size of an MP4 formatted file...haven't tried it out yet but for those that are looking aahead it may be worth the dl to install it and wait until you need it...
It is interesting to see all the negative comments about the IPhone after all the hoopla surrounding it's introduction...

Why must everyone comment when they haven't TRIED the software?

If you haven't even tried it, then you can't possibly offer anything of value here, so shut up for crying out loud! Nobody wants to read your clueless blathering if you didn't even review the product!!! Go elsewhere and build a whiner's forum, don't waste space in a legitimate review forum.

I tried the software, it loaded easily and ran smoothly. 100% as advertised. It's intuitive. Slick. Thumbs up! Thanks GOTD!

Hokay, this ought to be in the forum- but where I dunno, so please forgive my comments.

(well, actually, I believe I have a use for this as my sister got an iPhone and now I can bug her with annoying slide shows to balance the bad jokes and BS scare emails she hands me!)

But #74 needs a follow-up comment to balance the viewpoint of the latter half- a monthly membership fee would certainly wipe out people like me (and I think there are a lot out there and more all the time) that are barely hanging on to an internet connection on a fixed income, or flipping burgers for a *low* income that come here, download, and quietly test whatever comes by. College students that the parents give a computer and not a budget for software....

The only reason I have even a 2-year outdated computer is because a longtime friend *gave* me one, so I could advise him what parts to upgrade his with.

Not bitching, whining, and usually no comment until it's waaay too late to make sense adding one. I've put a couple of personally known good programs on the list of 'please, sir,' but a fee (unless you folks want to go with a 2 user format with the 'paid' users getting more flexible options- but please keep the unpaid site as it is, or I would expect a lot of usn's to end up not coming by to stare through the candy shop window when we know the door is *locked*.

Sorry, the soapbox is tossed. back to the usual bickering.

SO. . .then I got to wondering what my options might be for viewing MPEG4 other than an iPhone.

Just one site I found:
http://www.chinavasion.com/index.php/cName/mp4-players-1gb-mp4-players/
has several players under $40. I'm not promoting this site, but it is an example of what you can find if you look around.

NOW, this giveaway looks more promising.

Marketing towards the extremely narrow audience of iPhone owners is definitely a poor idea since this program can be used for other things. It works fine with video iPods and PSP, and it should also work with Xbox. Great little program for families like mine (with many extended family members living in other states and countries) who exchange photos and videos frequently.

On a different note ... I would be more than willing to pay a monthly membership fee ($25 a month maybe?) for a site like this IF all the software that was to be evaluated was registered and full-featured (no limitations, no ad-ware, etc.). I believe GOTD would find better quality feedback and fewer complainers / whiners who don't bother reading before they download and/or comment.

I cannot use it, but I have used a few pieces of Wondershare software and find it completely reliable. Two of them, in the past, were offered here, so if the shoe doesn't fit put it back on the shelf and complaints with it. You don't complain to a retailer when you don't like something on their shelf, you just don't buy it, yet you complain about free offers?

I know there may not be people here who have a need for this particular piece of software because they don't have an iPhone. It does however relate back to a legitimate company who is advertising for users who may need this particular item. This company produces some really functional software such as Video to Flash and Flash to Video Encoder packages, and they were offered here as free downloads also.

This is a way for them to advertise and perhaps you may think about actually visiting their website and see what else they offer. That really is the purpose of this web site...advertisement and offers. Stop knocking free offers, even if you can't use them.

@ALL
Forget about the iPhone being in the tilte or that they use the iPhone as the design interface ... the product is intended to assist in the development of .mp4 video.

As an experienced Instructional Designer, this tool is helpful for faculty with limited experience creating content that can be played via the web as well as on portable devices.

KUDOS GAOTD!

#42 : Erm, no I do not believe DVD players can play this. For that to be true it would have to create DVDs or DVD images.

You can play the resulting MP4 file on devices that support MP4. That is not the same.

Another thought...

You don't need an I-Phone... you just need to have customers who do :)

Or of course any of the other supported formats.

So make a downloadable video that promotes your business or product that people can show others or you could take it to a trade show, or any number of other uses.

Granted a phone display is pretty small for showing videos to customers, but what about a laptop?

Or what if you are a Realtor and while you are out showing houses you have short video tours of others that the customer could look at before you drive all the way there, show them the video to see if they are even interested.

I know I usually contribute business ideas and maybe that won't be something you need... but if it is it could be a great help.

Also, it wouldn't be too hard to figure out home uses either... like showing videos on TV to family members etc. that a few others have mentioned. Or taking a short video of your room to a "Lowe's" type store to make sure those colors you remember are really going to match or the style etc... it is kind of hard to drag your house with you to the remodeling store :)

How different/better/worse is it from last month Wondershare Photo Story Platium?

As others have said, today's product name is not only misleading, but unfortunately for the editor, by using a specific product name, a very limiting one with that, they're putting people off, ALL those who own other phone brands!!!

And this is probably 100:1 so they're loosing 99% of potential customers, especially all those who don't bother looking further. After all if it's not written in the right place, who has time nowadays to read pages of text just to see if it might work with their phone?!!

Very bad marketing tactics, as others have said too and as all the negative comments clearly show.

If it works on many devices DON'T PUT A SPECIFIC NAME HOWEVER CATCHY IT IS.

And say it upfront, on the box and description. It's no-where to be found on this page description!!

Then even if you can run the resulting file on a PC, the very limited screen format : HalfVGA (320x480) will make it a solution to avoid compared to most LCD screens full resolution these days; even on the smaller screens found on ultra-portales it will look postage stamp sized.

Better offer more size choices...

Apologies, all, but I have to say it: You all realize this software --as well as all the other software that appears on this site is *FREE*, right? How about a little good old fashioned *gratitude* instead of whining about not having an iPhone, or how the iPhone sucks, or whatever else you don't like about the offered software. GAOTD provides a wonderful service. Try to remember that. If the software of the day isn't your kind of thing, get over it and come back the next day.

You don't need an iphone. Get one of the other mobile personal computer phones like the PPC6700 that I have. It does way more than the iphone. Get a sling box and you can have TV, HDTV and I even have a camera hooked up showing the front of my house live. I got my phone for $70 back and $30 a month service. You can get this at sprint.com/sero. Use John.smith@sprint.com as your friend. You have to wait until you can find a good rebate to get your money back on the phone to make it free. I had $150 rebate and they sent me $300. Look it up on Google. Sprint has been sending back crazy amounts of rebate checks, way more than you request. Get this program and the latest and greatest phone the Mogal. This uses Windows Media 6. The PPC only uses WM5 and there is no up grade planned. Sprint of course wants you to buy the new phone.
