Nice article. Another great tool that is must have for digital photography is Binfer. This is also a great photo sharing tool.

Really like the software but I was wondering, am I allowed to use this on my personal site (Portfolio) or is this strictly for use at home? which there would be no use for me. I would just buy it at the special price for the day, but is that price for "Single-User Personal License" which is the same as todays giveaway? Or "Single-User Commercial License". Thanks.

There are always websites you can publish to ric they may not have all of the goodies some sites do but there are plenty of free host still. Also they list creating screen savers as one of the parameters of the software. How useful the software is to you is something you would have to judge after looking into it more. I thought I might have more to say but everyone else pretty much said it all.

If you do not have a website to publish a flash slide show in, then is this software useless to you?

I've heard that Flash is "outdated" but yet many sites still use it. Is there other software I should replace it with?

Something I've been meaning to say for a while. I'm mostly a lurker. The slow moderation and lack of comments recently (recently there are 10-30 per day compared to getting 50-100 in past months), combined with the lack of equivalent freeware suggestions by Giovanni (long since gone) and Jahid (haven't seen him post for a while), have discouraged me from trying most giveaways. Besides Karl's sometimes helpful "company without a name and address in China, don't need it, uninstalled via reboot" (on his VM) brief reviews and Mike's occasional (but very helpful and detailed) posts, most of the time I see very little useful info in the comments lately. It's just an opinion, but it seems like most giveaways aren't getting much attention and few people care.

So I've been skipping most giveaways unless it's a product and company I already recognize. I don't have time to research the software, and if there aren't enough detailed comments to help me figure out if it's worth getting or upgrading, I just move on. I also miss the freeware recommendations from the past.

I agree with Josh, I was hoping to see comments from the "regulars" like Giovanni and Karl on these GAOTD's offerings. I'd even appreciate if the passed a short comment just to let us know they are still reading these comments which I also find are necessary to made a judgement call on whether to download or not.

Reply   |   Comment by Feasach  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

Hi Josh and Feasach,

I agree with both of you. I miss Giovanni and Karl. I read the comments I look at the likes and dislikes numbers. If you dislike please leave a reason why. If you like also leave a comment why. I don't like to download apps on my PCs if they are really not going to help me in anyway. I read comments and some are helpful, but I am still left feeling like I don't want to download the program even if it sounds like something I can use. I am not a programmer, I know old HTML but it is so outdated.

I want software I can count on to help with making a responsive website that will work on mobile devices. I am not much into Flash, I am just learning video software. Things that can help me with that would be great. I can't even add buttons to my pages (don't laugh). I have portfolio Websites, Tumblr, Behance, Word Press (really difficult sometimes) and I sell on Bonanza and Etsy. I make crafts. I cannot afford to have someone work on my Websites, so I try to find programs such as this so I so not have to code. I want to make slide shows of my work, Better Portfolio pages with slideshows of my Logos and Creative Writing, etc.. I would like to be able to rely on the comments I see on here, but lately they have been really close on likes and dislikes. If I don't know why it is disliked or what problems it may have I won't download it.

Novices like myself come on here to check out the products and get advice on them. No offense to the companies but I do not count on what they say about their own products. I may be missing out on good free software that would be useful. There are often links to free software, but how do I know they are any better that what is being offered? I have had trouble with a some programs I have downloaded from GAOTD and uninstalled them. This program sounds good, but the comments make me think it may not be what I want. I just wanted to add my point of view as a long time user of GAOTD. Great site, and often great programs, but even though I come everyday, I have not been downloading anything.

If I had Giovanni and Karl's emails I would ask them to come back.

Thanks, Lisa

I agree w/Josh also. I seldom have time or interest to try another version of yet another media converter but the comments and suggestions of the knowledgeable people who often post here are usually worth the time to browse.

BTW, we have seen several frequent contributors who pass through for a while (e.g. Ashraf, Giovanni. Jahid, + others). Their comments usually gather many +'s. Then their visits/posts stop. Are they being discouraged after a while? I really enjoy this site and I hope the moderators realize the value of those comments from knowledgeable people as part of the overall usefulness of the site. Otherwise we'll just become "super-saturated" with crippleware and converters of media not yet developed. Thanks to all for all you do.

I'm an occassional poster on the site ,mainly on photographic related things, and have followed it for a goods few years. As Bgee has said over time we've had a lot of good regular contributors who after a while disappear. Well I think you'll find it's after people start making snide and personal comments about them, or their style or knowledge etc. This is a great shame and very regrettable. We are supposed to be commenting on the programs to help the developers! Not other folks personalities or abilities. Disagree with opinions by all means! Don't get at the authors!
I guess I've kind of stepped over my own line- so have a go at me! I've pretty thick skin! But let's encourage folk eh?

I come here most every day even if I'm not interested in the software because I often pick up nifty tips and useful knowledge from the aforementioned groovy geeks and others. Barring that, this place is often at least entertaining.

BTW, Karl DID post today at #2 and it is sad to witness the epidemic of inattentiveness everywhere now - Thank you Karl!

Flash is indeed outdated as advised by some users above. The security issues with flash are also well known. There are so many free jQuery snippets/codes that renders very high quality image slide shows (with very little input from the web designer) that I can hardly believe there is still a market for flash based slide shows.

Installed and registered without any problems, program opened without any difficulties.

A quick test adding photographs and a video, output into HTML5 chosen, video selectable outputs includes WebM, MP4, OGG and Flash, if the latter is excluded no SWF file is created.

Published the output in high quality HTML and was very pleased with the results with and without flash being included. Tested in both Chrome and Firefox.

When I selected to add a photo but actually chose a video it put a photo in the same as the thumbnail shown for the video in the directory selection box.

Going to keep this program as the output was so good particularly in the video which had audio, as a matter of interest tried with my 240 FPS MP4 video in another test and it worked perfectly.

so you can generate html 5 instead of swf?

Reply   |   Comment by hardgirl  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Tested HTML5 output at default resolution, pictures were fuzzy and buttons did not function. Amy suggestions from the developer on the last point, please?

I agree Jose,
I did the same and the output was terrible, fuzzy and no working buttons. Not good enough to even vaguely consider using on my site.

Download and ran on Windows 7 64 bit no problem. The registration also simple, it makes things a lot smoother when the readme file has the codes. The program had a flaw in not resizing the fonts on button at the bottom. Although flash is dead the finished product can be transfered to video easily and I find it best for animation. Good price, ok program.

Interesting that people are getting down-voted for mentioning about Flash.

Flash is an out-dated technology with security flaws. Malware creators are finding more and more ways to exploit Flash. Technology moves on - HTML5 and CSS3 can do so much.

If you place Flash items on your website, mobile users won't be able to see this content and depending on your website and target audience, can cause serious problems. Already Android doesn't support Flash neither does Apple. Its worth reading this article by Apple about their thoughts on Flash.
https://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/

I'd seriously recommend looking into HTML5 and other technologies for creating image galleries. Even if you have to install Wordpress and one of the plethora of gallery plugins - at least that would be viewable on mobile devices (and free).

And Google is going to exclude Flash sites from their search engine from what I understand because it is such a security risk.

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1.3 Pro 64 bit system.

A company without name and address.
"ThunderSoft (2009-2014) is a software developer dedicated in providing innovative and easy-to-use products and service to enhance your digital media experience by converting, editing, managing, saving and sharing a wide range of popular media files."

Remember, that each privacy statement, a warranty, a license agreement or anything else is completely useless without a known contract (not contact!) partner.

We had a previous ThunderSoft Flash Gallery Creator 1.0 on May 8, 2012. Here are the old reviews:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/flash-gallery-creator1/

A modern greyish resizable window opens. In the options (under help) you define timing, fonts and directory.
http://i.imgur.com/pmCNnH3.png

You add your photos, define a template (you can choose among 9 templates) define transitions and create an output. In my test a HTML5 output:

The output is good looking, working and created fast, playable with my Firefox:

A nice little program - no additional templates at this moment. In this rather limited:

Does what it claims. Uninstalled via reboot. Don't need this.

Google has just last week updated its search engine algorithm which now penalize websites that are not mobile friendly. Having a flash gallery like this on your business website will definitely have a negative impact on its search engine ranking . So be careful to implement this, even though it may look cool!! 2 cents..

I believe Search rankings and trying to increase your search ranking is the same as hitting the lottery. When you pull up any search on Google, the results are millions of pages. If all of those pages did EVERYTHING to optimize their website known to man. Guess what? There are still only a handful on the first 2 pages of results. So, in the end odds are that no matter what you do, your website will still be one of the millions no one will see. Even if you hire a company to get you a better search ranking, there are tens of thousands of companies doing that and each has multiple clients. Again, only a few can be on the first two pages of a search... everyone else's website is not seen. So why the push to "optimize" your website for Google? Simple, so it is easier for them to index your page. You are doing the work for them. But the world is brainwashed to think SEO can help their website and every website owner should switch to every new transition in HTML and buy any new thing they say you must have for your website, when it is simply not needed. But those upgrades and new bells and whistles make money for the people selling it. LOL.

#1 thing you should do? Your website must be viewable on handheld devices. Find the requirements to view your website on those and add that technology. That's it.

This programme is not good for a website. Flash is not mobile friendly and non mobile friendly websites are now being down dreaded by search engines.

Er.... Presumably that's why ThunderSoft Flash Gallery Creator comes with HTML5 as an output option.

And why Thundersoft clearly states

"Supports publishing as HTML5 video, supports all major browsers, and can be viewed in iPad, iPhone."

In reply to the replies I have received. So if it that good why does not the website for the programme not illustrate show case with HTML5 videos? Very poorly designed website for an outdated product.
