Your PURCHASiNG SYSTEM NEEDS A REDESIGN - so that PEOPLE living in OVERSEAS COUNTRiES DON'T PAY EURopean or UK TAXES on ALL SALES
Why should somebody have to pay a British or European Sales Tax when they live elsewhere in the world? You're just making an extra PROFiT on the face of it because Your own purchaseing system can't handle removing the extra tax on non-qualifying countries
While We're on the PURCHASiNG SUBJECT: You also need to clarify your PREMiUM UPDATE SERViCE, Does it COVER ALL Abelssoft Products that the User has previously purchased for a 2 year period - OR, does it ONLY COVER ONE or multiple items Made on a Particular Purchase?
EXAMPLE: I get your SPECiAL Deals delivered by email and usually there is only one deal at a time per email and normally the Premium Update Service is available to purchase on each New Deal offered, so to me that means Your Premium Update Service only covers products purchased on THAT PARTiCULAR DAYs ORDER, which would often be the 1 product offered at a special price
In other words the Premium Update Service seems to be a grey area that requires clarification, it isn't a bad idea but perhaps a subscription arrangement for All owned products may be a better way to deal with it.
Personally I like AntiBrowserSpy 2015 and GoogleClean 2015 and I can never seem to buy both of them when they are both on a special price (ABS was last offered Jan 31st, 2015) but until the purchasing system clunkiness is streamlined then I suppose I'll just keep hopeing and waiting ...
Oh yes I forgot to say, I have actually used your facebook page to contact You/Abelssoft in the past, with only limited success as only some of my questions were answered.

WARNING: Free version also requires Registration and E-mail. Quickly Uninstalled w "Your Uninstaller"("Revo" takes too long & "Advanced" was being difficult.) ReBoot-You've got to be kidding. I've already wasted too much time on this. I REALLY REALLY LIKE PORTABLE !!

This software is mainly useful for Windows XP or other operating systems which do not automatically disable certain features. Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 8.1 will automatically adjust the most important features such as disabling Prefetch and Defragmentaion for you when you install an SSD. The rest of the features you might disable are really optional such as Indexing (searching on an SSD is so fast that you don't really need Indexing, for example). One very important thing to do before using an SSD for the first time is to boot into the BIOS setup screen (usually by tapping the DEL or F2 key as soon as you turn the computer's power button on) and locate the settings for SATA, making sure that "AHCI" is selected. Then Save and Exit the BIOS. Although your SSD will work just fine without AHCI setting, you'll get around 15% faster performance by enabling AHCI.

Almost forgot - the most useful feature for an SSD that Windows XP lacks is called TRIM which uses computer idle time to erase deleted data blocks so that Write commands will that come later will be handled without any delay. Even so, most SSD controllers include a "garbage collection" feature which periodically does the same thing but less often ...

Question:aka
Would this be of any use with USB Flash Drives ? aka, to reduce the number of read/write operations, speeding up data access while prolonging the device's life . . .
Save | Cancel
I think I will not need this software; I just have flash drives, so I need to find a software that does this function on those kinds of drives, not the full sized drives that I guess this was made for.
Save | Cancel
I'm a little confused about this software because it did not just list my SSD drives, but also my hard drive. I just wanted to turn off any extra functions on the SSD drives, but not on the hard drive. The software isn't clear and I don't see a way to exclude my hard drive.

Hi all - dual-boot here - installed cleanly on both partitions - installed to a shared partition & it plays well with others. BUT, I do not have an SSD drive to try this on (and am poor, so I am not running out to buy one) - the program likes Win 10 - as much as it likes Win 8.1 - from all that I can tell. Do not know if I will use, but I will keep until that moment arrives. Have a great Sat. & thank you GOTD & Abelssoft for today's offering & by the way - the price is right!

You'll have to keep it installed until you need it. GAOTD programs can only be installed on the day of the giveaway .

Very painless to use. It may not do everything, but who can argue with the price?

Would someone please enlighten me as to how to tell when a SSD is not "fresh"?

It seems like an okay program all and all not that great. It was a nice clean install and FAST even. It doesn't really do much though i wouldnt pay for it ever! it only changes three settings and that is it! so only 3 system settings have fun!

I am using this tool since several years on a XP home system with Corsair Force3 SSD. XP does not support SSDs properly and this was the reason to me to buy SSDfresh.
I did not notice any difference between version 2013 and 2015plus. Maybe some newer drives or newer OS are supported.
A good function is to read the SMART data from any drive, not only SSDs. From time to time i take a look to the error rate of the drives because my 1,5TB WD Green was dying 2x inside the 2 years warrenty time. The 3rd drive seems to work fine. My 180GB Corsair SSD Force3 works excellent, never had any problems.
Some data from my SSD: ReallocatedSectorsCount:0, PowerOnHours: 15875

I have Samsung Magician which came with my SSD, but I downloaded and installed this on my Windows 7 x64 partition, and must confess I like it. All the options are presented so you can choose what you want it to do, with an explanation alongside, or, you can auto optimize, it is up to you.
I had optimized mine using Magician for maximum reliability a while ago, but found indexing was enabled when I ran this utility, so turned it off.
It seems a solid program with well displayed info, so I will leave it on, as it also gives a good view of my other 8 drives on my system.
I also downloaded the free "MyKeyfinder" from the site which presents a list of serials from the registry for exporting to a PDF file, just asks for a tip to help development, seems a very nice site with lots of goodies :o)
Thanks GOTD and Abelssoft

Does it support hybrid drives? (e.g., I have a Seagate ST750LX003-1AC15 SCSI hard drive)

Incorrectly reports that AHCI is not enabled on my PC. I'm using the Intel RST driver so perhaps it only checks the status of the Microsoft Windows driver?

Following this guide, you don't need software like this which enable only some of the available options.

Do remember that this tool will disable things in Windows, for example it will stop Windows from timestamping files just to reduce the amount of writing done. It also disables prefetch which could be a major performance hit.
It also deactivates Windows Event Logging, which could be a major problem later if you encounter problems with Windows and have no in-depth logs to consult.
Save | Cancel
Yes, it does stop time stamping on the SSD, which is no big problem really.
Prefetch, would that be much of a problem if your system/programs are kept on the SSD? I doubt it
Event logging, I have always had that feature turned off, but it would leave you as "ju" advises with no logs. Personally I have (fingers crossed) not had a problem needing these files.

You should be disabling prefetch if you use an SSD. Most SSD software does it for you.

After the Samsung debacle in recent times - I'm most loath to fiddle around with "improvements" to SSD operations!
I'm using 3 different maker's SSDs, and they all work - at the moment anyway - tho' I have had to reformat my Samsung 520GB SSD several times 'cos I had persistent difficulties in getting a copy of Win 8.1 *&* an evaluation copy of Win 10 to share a partitioned SSD due to the restrictions in BIOS to do this - Finally succeeded!

you're free to use any SSD, there are other users who may find this software usefull.
maybe you shouldn't use samsung then?
maybe you shouldn't use SSD's because these do need special installed OS?
may you shouldn't use computers at all?...
:-)

What "Samsung debacle" are you actually referring too?
Please provide a URL or links to the problems covered by your use of the word "debacle", for those of us who are in the dark on these matters.

ok. so now I'm confused. I also have a Samsung 520GB SSD and ran a partition program and installed Win 10 (Eval Copy) and have no problems what-so-ever

The debacle can easily be found by googling. The Samsung Evo line of drives suffer from SEVERE slowdown of reads on older data, usually the oldest data on a drive is the OS, so the ssd gets very slow over time and it'seems still not totally fixed according to Tom's hardware and Anand tech websites

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1.3 Pro 64 bit system. A clean install
A German company with all legal information and pictures of the modern office.
"Abelssoft is a business unit of Ascora GmbH and is based in northern Germany. Our headquarter is located in Ganderkesee and we have a secondary office in Delmenhorst; both offices are located in Lower Saxony, Germany."
Upon start a clear structured and understandable interface opens. In the settings you can change the language, disable update checking at startup time and call the support page.
All connected drives are shown and you can change here easily the soemtimes hidden window functions. From defragmentation over prefetch to Windows event logging. The program is nothing else than a collection of built in windows features - concentrated on features which stress a SSD with additional read/write operations. The features are partly usefull also for non SSD (indexing).
This is done in a perfect way. It gives an overview, what to avoid.

Install it! It doesn't harm or influence your system. It is a useful tool. And a must for reducing the load to a SSD system drive.
In my case : uninstalled via reboot. I use the Windows System Manager.
Have a nice weekend!

With my SSD came software which does the exact same things.

Obviously those who gave a thumbs down didn't get "their" software. However, in their defense, I have 4 SSD drives in laptops and towers. Got a 1tb Samsung in my gaming rig. It's the pro version and it came with software. The Sandisk, PNY and 2 crucial SSD's didn't. Guess you get what you pay for.
