It does not generate GIF files internally but abuses FFMPEG.EXE to create low quality generic GIF files with zero quality control or optimisations like could have been implemented if they bothered to learn the GIF generation algorithms and implemented them within their own program legitimately. Choices like to dither or not, to use custom palettes the use specific types of dithering... to use transparency encoding on areas that do not change from one frame to the next in an animation sequence to potentially significantly reduce the data complexity of subsequent frames and make them more compressible using the standard LZW compression method, in a similar manner to how MPEG compression works with unchanging data from one frame to the next...
