As noted by several commenters (when their comments were finally published)this is NOT an update of the version kindly given away a year ago. It is an even less featured version. So if you installed it expecting an up-date guess what you got! A down-date: software that has less features than last last year's offer. And guess what else: it overwrites last year's so that they have kindly taken last years version back and given you a less featured version in its place. Clever but unfathomable marketers these guys . . .

Thanks GAOTD guys but a little warning would've been appreciated. (I do very much appreciate your hard work year 'round.)

But still . . . and only a few days before Christmas . . . to think the GAOTD/ArcSoft Santa actually reached into my computer and took a nice program back and replaced it with a coal lump program . . . it's kinda grinchy, no?

It would have been far better to sample the full version instead of the kiddy version ;)

Hi All, Well, Installed the Perfect365 Standard and everything went as it should, and the program works Very Well, Its a nice way to upgrade portrait shots that maybe are too plain or washed out and bring color to the face and make it look glamorous or just natural. Its a nice addition to my Graphic editing programs I use now that is mostly made up of Adobe Photo and Movie/DVD Editors and makers that have always served me very well.
That being said this Perfect365 is a quick way to touch up a photo especially for portraits where you get a good candid shot and maybe the woman says she wished she would have worn a little makeup? And I can give her the option to pick a change in Perfect365 right then on my Laptop and if it is pleasing to her (And I can see from playing with it today) And using one of my models to test this idea and she loved it! she had no makeup on and just from the examples she was able to pick a look that very closely resembled her own makeup! This saves me from having to retake the photo and a lot of times a candied shot is the best! And if you try to re-do the photo at a later date when she has her makeup on and is ready for the shoot! But most times you never get that shot again! The magic is missing, The natural look of her being herself is lost! And it ends up looking like a staged Glamour shoot! I tend to stay away for that as much as possible! In my photos I try to catch the real life actions of a model when she don't know when or ware I'm going to shoot! They are the most beautiful, flattering photos you can capture at least in my opinion.
Now to the Negative stuff, I would to have liked to have been able to make small adjustments and/or corrections more on the fly, instead of just being limited to the preset or standard adjustments that your allowed to use in the Free give away? But I understand that if they gave us the hole "9 yards" as it where! There would be no reason to pay a few bucks to get the full version! But that's my only grip, and not really a grip worth mentioning! But at least I can see what it can do and after I play with it some more in some real photo shoots I will most likely buy the full version! I seems that the full version is like $70.00 and all and all that's not to bad when I think of hundreds of dollars spent on Adobe! And I could do a lot of this editing using one of several Adobe products but they are more for the studio! What I like about Perfect365 is its quick and fast and can be used "On The Fly!" with a Laptop with a Big Hi-res screen I can bring up the models or subjects photo right then, Life size portrait and make some subtle adjustments that make the client happy and Print and sell the photo right then! So I Do think its well worth the money for what I would be using it for, But I can see where a lot of novice or just hobbyist Photographers my think it too little and too much and that's fine. I would agree that this is more of a tool for someone that sells his/her work and needs to impress the buyer! So, Its an if you need it? You need it! And, If you don't? You don't! So it does have a some what of a narrow or slim group of users that will want it, Or need it? If your Planning is to become a professional Photographer maybe your going to school for that? And You are going to do a lot of portraits? I would highly suggest you give this a try, especially if your going to go to parks, To events, etc. And want to sell your work right then! This could be a very handy application to add to your traveling Photo, Print Shop! (o;
I also noted that in visiting there WEB Site, They have a very nice array of products for most everything to do with photography? landscapes and scenery and a nice selection of apps that may or may not work very well? I Do plain to visit there site after the Holiday's and check out more of what they have to offer? Going by the way Perfect365 works, I think they may have some very nice stuff, worth trying out and giving a second look anyway.
For me, I give Perfect365 two Thumbs Up! Thank you GOTD, And ArcSoft for sharing a version of there wares. "Perfect365" Is a great on the fly Touch Up or Make plain photos into Great Photos! To try for FREE! Thank You, Happy Holidays Everyone! We Survived 12-21-12!!!! And we're going strong! (o; Be safe if your traveling, Make it a Holiday to rejoice and remember! Take Care, I will see you next Time.

Where are all the comments? I downloaded this the last time it was offered and it is my all-time favorite giveaway. Great results with a lot of opportunity to customize. Easy to use and provides easier manipulation than photo editors, which can be hit or miss. Grab it while you can.

Ashraf, your link to your review at dotTech.org apparently isn't working. It appears to be a valid link. Nothing is obviously wrong with it in syntax, but it brings up a 404 page..

No other comments? Yet there are 565 thumb ratings. Seems rather unusual..

I've used this before. It IS a bit cheesy, but if you like to play with graphic programs that are somewhat unique in their function, grab it and give it a try. Its not something I would jump through a lot of hoops to seek out, but its kind of fun.

Since no version is indicated, its hard to tell if its the same one given away some time ago or not. It is a much larger package than the current trial version at the web site.

Well, I can't enter feedback in the suggestions, it keeps telling me to sign in(which I have done several times now) and when I try using the 'Without signing in' link, I input the code and all it does is tell me I've entered the an incorrect one.

So here is my input:
See less clownish/comical one step choices. For the choices given, lower your price to $9.99.

You can gain more control if you upgrade. To standard costs $29.99, to Full (not sure if it is full, it just says Perfect365) $69.99.

According to the title, this is supposed to BE the Standard version, but if it tells you to upgrade to the Standard version, how does that make this one the Standard one?

Installs fine on XP 3.

Pros: This does in one click the type of photo 'enhancements' that one gets at professional glam studios. The skin is smoothed. Blemishes mostly removed. Teeth whitened. One may adjust the points of application areas, lips, eyebrows and such. In a paid version, I could control the options but I don't know if it is sliders or just off / on controls.

Cons: There are several problems with severity of the effects I wish I could control... but I must UPGRADE before I am able to do much more than use the preprogrammed templates.
Also the software adds makeup to eyeglasses frames. Not good.
Although not always pre-chosen for me on every templeate, I especially dislike 'slim face' and 'optimize nose' or whatever they are called. I'm unable to stop making the pic into someone else, a sister perhaps, but NOT the original person when those 2 options are pre-ticked.

Software: Intuitive and good facial recognition. Finds the right spots out of the box. There are 'MORE' templates one can download in this crippled GAOD. Avoid clicking ALL. Some of the templates might as well be called 'Elvira' 'Evil Witch of the North' 'Bachmann's Crazy Eyez' 'Fright Mask' and such. Here I was looking for soft effects and they came in with Halloween.

This is going to be a great product for facebook profile shots to show to people who don't know you. It will be ideal for teens.. and others uncomfortable in their own skin. Caution: It makes images of mannequins very readily. If there was adjustments of the tools, this might be fine for me.

If I was the software developer, I would promote it heavily to the younger Facebook crowd in their side ads. Do a one time, 5$, single shot, any template offer. It will make millions.

I downloaded and installed it on Win7 x64 and had no problems after having tried out the online version the author(s) have on their website. It works OK for my needs but I'm not at all demanding. Although the website promotes exclusively women's pictures, you can use it for general retouching / cleanup. I used the "natural" effect on a photo of myself (I'm a man) that I use on one of my websites and it looks much better without looking fake or manipulated. Thumbs up from me, although it's the first time I've ever tried this type of software.

This version (the "Standard" version of the software) does not allow you to tweak your own photos. It has several presets from which you can choose, all of which apply to women.

For my purposes I (I'm a man) wanted to adjust a business photo of myself - I shave my head and the photo has glare on my scalp, my eyebrows and mustache are strawberry blonde and the photo has too much yellow, I'd prefer to smooth out my middle-aged skin just a little (not much), etc.

I can't do these things with "Perfect365 Standard," although I can see all the check boxes and controls that would allow me to do them in Perfect365 (their next level up).

So, I went through all the presets - most of which made me look like a drag queen! - and they seem like they could be useful to some people, but only for women's pictures (or pictures of drag queens :-)). Be aware that several of the presets are heavily styled - for example extra-heavy eye shadow with wild colors and extra-long eyelashes.

For me, this is useless. for others - to a very specific market - it seems like it might be useful as a starting point. Run your photo through this and then use a regular photo editor to finish it off if necessary,

The results are, as Ashraf pointed out "very fake and cheesy".
If I am going to put makeup on my loved-ones, I don't want them to look like clowns.
Without the customization features, that's exactly what you get : Clowns.

"You need to upgrade to manually customize your ideal style". Humbug!

Basic : $29.99 (Free today)
Upgrade : $69.99 for the full features.

Not having access to the full features makes it very difficult to judge whether it is worth it's weight in gold or not.

I will use it as long as it's active, just for the fun of it.

Thank you,
Happy holidays to all !

The Standard version only allows use of templates so you can't do something like change eye color only. Detailed control is available on their website for $79 as compared to $29 for the Standard version.

This program is extremely easy to use. Load a photo and then pick a template. There is nothing else to do unless parts of the face such as lips or eyes where not identified properly by the program. Then some marker points can be moved. There are also undo, redo and rest buttons.

Excellent program for very acceptable, quick enhancement and correction of portraits. The makeup effects can be near perfect with even moderately well-exposed, preferably full-face images. Adobe Lightroom + Photoshop + Illustrator will, of course, give much better, professional results but Perfect365 (my version is 1.0.0.49) is great for that quickie edit. It's not a "professional" tool, IMO, but is very credible, and easy-to-use.

This software is actually pretty good for what it does. Being free today , you should download it and give it a shot. The only way to tell if this is for you is to actually use it.

Almost halfway through the giveaway. As I write this there is only 1 comment. Of course it is by someone that is given preferential treatment here.
For the life of me I can't understand why. Most times his reviews are way off. Many many people here give more in depth reviews. fubar , giovanni, mike etc.

It really is beginning to distract from coming here.
Someone enlighten me as to why he gets this preferential treatment. As I understand it he is here to only promote his own web site. How does that help GOTD or the people that patronize this site.

Back to the software, the price is quite high if you were to buy it. I can't see anyone spending even half that for this program. I don't know where companies come up with these prices. Again though, today it is free. Why not try it?

Pros:
* Besides one-click transformations, you have detailed control over each modification by clicking the small tab on the right of the screen.
* By starting with "Adjust Key Points" at the top of the screen, the modifications made can be made more accurate, especially if the face view is not full-on.
* I have used the free version of this program for over a year, to the delight of my nieces and their parents.
Cons:
* Unless the face view is full-on, the nose highlight feature doesn't work too well. (You can turn it off in the detailed control area.)

Note this title was given away a year ago. See link:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/perfect365/#more-26011

Although this is an updated version from what was given away on December 11, 2011 for those who have it from last year today's version is not the same. Last year's giveaway was the PRO version. The version given away today represents their latest STANDARD version. Therefore all features are not available.

This was given away a few days ago on another site. I didn't realize it was the STANDARD version and not as good as my older version until I had installed it and could not access all the features I had been able to access before. Luckily I created a system restore point (and I had a recent image also)prior to installing it so I was able to revert back to my PRO installation.

So beware! Those who have last year's give away. It is not the latest version but it is better than this updated STANDARD version. Keep your old PRO version and skip this one.

Wonderful software if you shoot headshots for actors, as I do. Very much worth having if you just need an improved picture for Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Very easy to use. Many of their templates are pretty silly and worthless but several give you useful, photoshop quality enhanced pictures. My major complaint is that they have no templates for men, only for women. I wonder how this version differs from the one GOTD offered in the past. Thanks!

Very limited usefulness for a relatively large download. Haven't had time to test it completely, but so far I'm fairly unimpressed....not enough to give it a complete thumbs down but if we had a, say, 1-5 rating system, a 2.5 at best.

Would not load the first 2 pictures because it couldn't find a face even though both had them. One was a portrait. The 3rd image it loaded and even though it was a head on portrait, it had the mouth angled off to the side. That was adjustable but the lipstick did not fit the shape of her lips and there were not enough adjustment points to fix it. The next photo had the head turned slightly. It picked up the eyes OK with only a little adjustment needed even though part of one eye was partly covered by the frame of some glasses. The mouth was way off and adjusting the key points didn't help much. The next photo was a group shot and it missed 2 faces. I added make up to a few of the people but didn't work long. All in all, it's rather disappointing.

Oh and also having the pro features on the screen but not usable is uncool too.

I had problems getting the key from my primary ISP assigned email address from Surewest, so I had to change using my GMail address and the key appeared immediately.

Since this particular program was given away here previously it leads me to believe if you already used one email address and its on file, its probably not going to work again.

As for the purpose of this program.... I'm not hung up on self image nor do I need something to make me look more attractive and hide away the imperfections of my skin. Thats a big thing on dating sites where you see one person and when you meet them in person, you find out their photo was doctored. But there are a lot of people out there who want a very good picture on Facebook but ashamed because it don't look too good.

This program is more of a hobby , rather then a professional solution for fixing photos. Takes a long time to start up too and the CPU goes very high at times.

I had this before, its good for a good laugh at what you can do but as someone said it can look very fake and if it does not then you can get to the point that you may look great but its not a picture of you. Perfecting your makeup should not include changing your bone structure LOL. I did a friends face, made it much more narrow, raised her cheekbones, whitened her teeth, did other changes to her face and sent it to her. she said she did not realize she looked that good, that she looked like a tv broadcaster. the problem was it was not really her anymore.

First of all - I downloaded this program the last time it was offered and I fell in love with it for quick fixes to family photographs.

WARNING!!!! If you have the previous version of this program that was offered on December 14, 2011 and you like it - DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION!

You will lose almost all of the functionality that you have come to know and love by switching to this "Standard" version. You will no longer have access to the individual items located on the right hand side bar such as the eyes and mouth section. HUGE disappointment...

I am so, so sorry that I jumped on this version without due diligence. It's my own fault - I assumed that this new offering would be as good or better than the previous one. Boy was I wrong.

You are getting a standard version which does not allow for manual corrections although all of the right side of the screen is taken up with the controls for the upgraded version. All you really get is the ability to add cheesy eye-shadow and fake eyelashes.

Installed fine on win 7. Says the key was activated successfully. I tried it out and all I'm able to use is the one click feature to the left. I'm not able to use the sliders to the right. Also leaves a watermark on the photos. What's the sense if a watermark is left on the photo? This isn't a giveaway. This is a trial.
Useless. Uninstalled.

As Ashraf duly noted some effects "come off looking very fake and cheesy". However each effect has a manual override allowing the effect to be toned down or if you prefer accentuated almost giving the subject a bit of a "Charature" look. To give the subject that final finished "Charature effect", run the subject through Photoshop's Liquify.

Perfect 365 will give your subject that glamorous magazine look with just a few keystrokes. It's easy to use and you'll amaze your friends with your graphic ability. It's a lot of fun so grab it, you will not be disappointed. Getting it free is just the icing on the cake.

Hi, As usual there is more questions concerning VERSIONS of Today's Giveaway - than obvious facts to be found in both Description of Perfect365 here and on ArcSoft Homepage.

First Question: What exactly do we get in Today's "Standard Edition" than most of us already have/haven't got in Version 1.0.0.49 of GAOTD - dated 12.12.2011 and called "Perfect365"??
According to differences to be seen here:

http://www.arcsoft.com/perfect365/editions.html#perfecteditions

- not only the prices of "Perfect365 Standard" and "Perfect365" (already version 1.8.0.3) differ..??

Secondly: Searching further (not easily found!) Home Page of this Software we come to more puzzling "facts"..:

"How do I get additional one-click templates?

Fortnightly, you can download a new pre-set style template by simply clicking the More button, located at the bottom left corner. A window with a group of makeup styles listed displays. If you are using the free version of Perfect365, you will need to sign in as a member. Click the Download button to download the latest style. For tips on striking the right balance of glitz and glam, click View. The updated template is automatically added to the one-click templates list. Try the newest style now!"

AND! - "To upgrade your activated Standard version, log in your ArcSoft Account to get the patch" ??

I have Platinum Account with ArcSoft - there is NO PATCHES for Perfect365 to "upgrade" Today's activated (I presume) Standard Edition to ANYTHING ELSE.

Can Anyone shed more light on this Giveaway, might it "cancel" the older Version I've mentioned above (version that ALLOWS Manual corrections, as well as Automatic!, but has "More Button" INACTIVE?)

Thanks in advance for much needed Help!

However the natural effects are really well done. It does things like remove the dark circles from under your eyes and smooth out blemishes really well. I use it all the time for this.

I really liked this product. Today's software is very easy to use, especially for novices like me. You cannot expect every one to be expert in many manual photo editors to go through cumbersome procedures in editing photos.

I already test this when it was given away from other site. It is a thumbs down for perfect365 standard and for me it is not worth to stay in my pc. But perfect365 (not standard version) is a great tool for pictures and i love it. What i hate about perfect365 is the online activation.

This standard edition isn't worth the $39.99 price. It includes many templates for enhancements to makeup and corrections to skin blemishes but without any adjustments allowed in the standard edition, it is unlikely that any of the templates will suit a user's specific needs. At times the makeup is too opaque. For most, the combination of lip gloss and eye shadow colors doesn't match what you want. It is nearly completely useless for male subjects.

It also has the small but annoying flaw of defaulting to opening the Internet Explorer browser when clicking on links found in the Tools>>Activate Product menu. The link to the Homepage uses the default browser properly.

One the good side, it does an excellent job of face detection and allows easy tweaking of key points on the faces. I found it very easy and intuitive to use the tools available.

Overall, thumbs down for a lack of usefulness.

I've read what is written about. I looked at the photo examples. What does this program do?

Should this be the same program that was here before, I can only say,
a truly nice piece of s/w. I have surprised one friend after another by reducing their age by 20 to 30 years! Especially women - they don't believe their eyes! Neither can I myself. points from me: 9 of 10.
