Loaded on my xp(desktop) & w7(laptop) fine, but the registration was a little quirky, and I may have been lost as well if I had not read the many comments/solutions. For those that didn't have any problems, that's fine, but without forewarning, it IS challenging. My review compares with portrait professional (6?) from gotd last year. It is quicker and simpler to use but less of basic features.

(1) My main complaint is that it has blemish tool, but no healing tool to take out major flaws like pimples.

(2) There seems to be no control of the area under the eyes that are smoothed out by the program. Almost like a "raccoon effect" with softening the skin from the lower eyes to the upper cheek bone area.

(3) I had difficulty sizing the work space. It wouldn't let me use the arrows on the corner to size it down. Had to change my display settings to see every thing. I had 1440x900 on my laptop. Not a big deal.

(4) Could never really get a good result with the eye color feature. Maybe it was just me.

(5) Who ever said you couldn't use the program without the internet was WRONG! (You can't see the help files w/o it though.)

(6) Didn't get a chance to see if your work is only saved in one resolution (someone said only 800x600, someone else said that wasn't true). Will confirm that.

Conclusion. It will NOT replace Photoshop/gimp/paint etc. (as we all know), but for someone with little expedience, it is great. It is kind of like the difference between a butter knife (Arc365) and a steak knife (portrait pro 6), verses a scalpel (Photoshop). All cut, but the latter requires increasing attention and skill. BTW, portrait professional gets REAL QUIRKY some times. Isn't time for a GOTD for that?

Hope it helps. Thanks again GOTD.

I actually got out of bed at 11:45pm last night to install this on my laptop before the giveawayoftheday offer was up. It was already installed on my desktop & tested it earlier in the day. It was so good that I had to have it on both machines!

Sorry Mike, # 199, but for me, Fubar is right (as usual ;-). I was able to check that option and the picture (one of the examples) was duly saved at 1200 x 1200, only the file was smaller in size (maybe because of the removed wrinkles and blemishes ;-). Who knows...

#31, #89 and #200 are right. You have to click on the “i” balloon in the middle of the title bar just after you run this for the first time. That will show the ArcSoft User Center. Click the Activation tab, Get Keycode. Your program should now be AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED to the full version. Your code will be immediately visible, maybe you should copy it, although you may never need it.

If you DID NOT GET this cool application yet, you may try reading COMMENT #69, there may still be hope. Hopefully, the vendor will allow this for an extra day seeing as how confusing the installation was today!!!!!!!!!!

Fubar is right! You can UPGRADE to the FULL VERSION afterinstalling the initial version by using coupon code GOTDFREE14 for a second time.

After installing and activating the program, look at the very TOP CENTER center for an i symbol, and click on it!!! Then, a box should appear. Click on upgrade to full version. Enter the coupon code GOTDFREE14, then enter your email address. If the link doesn't appear to work (as for me first time), then be SURE you are online I was off), then restart the program and click the i. In this area, it may be possible to get the additional templates too (see comment 89 and others).

YES, I had to use the coupon code TWICE. Once to install the program, then this second time to upgrade. It's well past the end of the Giveaway time, and I've spent more than THREE HOURS trying to figure all of this out.

Hopefully, those who installed this will still get a chance to upgrade their initial GOTD version to the full version.

As for what it does, this is a nice program. Too bad that the GUI is so UNintuitive, and the installation and registration process is so complicated that, instead of the usual seconds it takes me for a typical GOTD installation & registration, this took hours.

The previous giveaway, Diskboss Pro also took a long time, 30 minutes of entering codes, installs, removals and more installs, and I never did get anywhere with it. GOTD really needs some "pretesters" to try things out in advance and try to avoid the craziness of the past few days!!!

Fubar is wrong. You cannot save anything as original. Yes, the box is there, he's right about that. But you CANNOT check the save as original box. There is a link on that screen to upload to the full version. So, even though these giveaways are advertised as full versions, this one is not.

Had almost the SAME problem yesterday with Diskboss pro. After yet another lengthly convoluted registration process, I ended up with more demoware. I sure hope gotd can screen out the scams better.

I used the link suggested in comment #69.

-Entered the coupon code as also indicated in #69, then with total changed to $0.00 USD, I clicked to proceed;
-Entered name, email & other info at next screen;
-Did NOT enter any payment info, simply clicked to complete order;
-Next screen showed my unique serial#, and a UNIQUE download link with the program activated already. Downloaded.
-Turned OFF my Internet connection (to see if there were call-home issues).
-Installed from there. Did NOT need the Internet to Install and run.

Yes, the software appears to work. Using makeovers on some of the demo images they include on the GUI worked out quite well. It may be different with my photos, but it seems the results are quite good.

The only strange thing were two alerts from Winpatrol regarding new registry startups and/or servies. AVG had given the downloaded EXE a clean report. I kept the "cleanup run once" entry, but told Winpatrol to delete the ADSERVE entry.

You can only save a maximum 600x600 image, and next to that there is a link to "upgrade to full version." So, this is not the full version, but a special giveaway version.

I got it installed and was able to get an activation code but when I put it in, it said it was already registered, tried again and said it failed. I made sure I used exactly my email address and activation code and would not work. I close the app down and try again and comes up with registration screen again and try again and get the same error.
Now it's past midnight. now what do I do. Please let us know what to do to contact and get this resolved so we can register and use the application.

Thanks,

Jim Zak

After successfully downloading perhaps 100 GOTD apps this has to be the most convoluted ,poorly explained installation /registration process I've labored through. Took 45 min. Sure hope it's been worthwhile. Will try program tomorrow. Thanks for the free app just the same.

By far the best arcsoft Perfect365x program out there. I’ve used it for years with nothing but satisfaction. As a paying customer I don’t need today’s giveaway but wanted to encourage others to try it. You won’t be disappointed. Every now and then GAOTD has a real gem that you don’t expect to see offered here because the program is already well known and top of the line. Today’s giveaway is one of those gems. Do yourself (and your computer) a favor and get this.

And yes, I’ve tried all the other arcsoft Perfect365 out there over the years but for my money Your arcsoft Perfect365 is head and shoulders above the competition. Thanks, GAOTD. I was both shocked and pleased to see this offered here.

Same as #150. Couldn’t activate no matter what I tried. Installed and Uninstalled twice, even got new code in desperation but still failed to register.

I guess I’ll never know if the programme is any good or not. Ditched.

Update to my earlier comment #145. Sent email to arcsoftsupport but still haven't heard back :-( Not wanting to lose this free deal, I decided to just play around a bit. First I uninstalled the software completely with Revo Uninstaller. Then I opened my original email that had the duplicate copy of the activation code (other copy was on browser page after putting my contact info in where indicated). I downloaded the software this time from the download link in the email rather than from GOTD. This seems to be the solution to the problem. When the software was installed the second time but from the email link it worked fine. And better yet it "remembered" me as I did not have to put in my activation code, it was already in (partially starred out for security). Better yet I was able to just click the link download the last photo and to my surprise and delight the photo I had been playing with popped up right where I had left off. Not bad at all. My only criticism of the software (besides the hassle I had with the installation and being able to open the software once I closed it) is that it insists upon grabbing my Internet Explorer browser and I hate IE. I use google chrome so would prefer it to launch that site instead. So I just cut and paste the link from the IE browser to my google chrome one but still a pain in the butt to have to do that. One other thing that might have interfered with my first attempt to install was that I had Ad Muncher running in the background. For the second attempt I shut Ad Muncher down so don't know how much of my solution was to Ad Muncher and how much was to using the download link in the email versus the GOTD site??? Let's just hope after 30 days, the software still works. It should because the email download link takes you to the purchase site with the GOTD coupon code in place and it activated with the original code. Makes me wonder if maybe the problem was Ad Muncher??

Bottom line a fun program and the ability to touch up those special family photos to make memorable keepsakes will be fun. Clowning around for special effects will also be nice :-)

After first activation went back a few hours later to play with this software and found I was no longer activated? Entered the activation code from the activation email I received previously and repeatedly got invalid code? So I uninstalled and installed the download link contained in the activation email I received. Entered the code from the activation email and activated perfect. Have opened and closed the software several times now and remaining activated just fine.

After playing with this for a hour or so I must admit I am impressed. I can make myself look like a member of Twisted Sister LOL This does seem to be more oriented to working with female pictures. I still haven't found the extra downloads I keep reading about. Was hoping those would have more male oriented options. Still this is a keeper though the install/activation was a bit of a pain.

Downloaded and installed with no problems on Win7 64 Ultimate. Followed the instructions for registering but a window popped up that said registration failed. Repeated the registration steps and a window popped up that said the program was already registered. Checked status in the program and it was registered. I've only played around with it for a short time but so far I'm not really impressed with what it can do. I would recommend that everyone that has the slightest interest in this kind of program download it and try it out. You might find it useful or you may not. In either case you can't beat the price (free).

OK, had big time trouble activating it but finally using the download version not the included giveaway version I got it. Does it really need to be this hard?

Now as far as the extra templates. I guess it worked but I didn't look at how many I had before going to the Gallery page. If indeed it downloaded and installed more in my templates, for dogs sake why didn't it tell me or something. Weird stuff with this program. Kinda spooky actually.

Program looks very encouraging. This will be a keeper, especially since it took a major part of my evening to get anywhere.

Cute program, but of very limited use. After two tries I think it is registered, but I'm not sure since I was being told to download the "full version". And thanks to the non-standard GUI I can't find an "about" page to tell me that I'm really registered. Program seems OK with full frontal female face shots. Couldn't find the very obvious face in a large picture of a female friend when the picture included a lot of "background". Does a pretty bad job if the face is a 3/4 view rather than a mug shot style straight on picture. Not really sure that I care about the registration issue, as I'll play with it a little more but unless I come across something really special I'll likely just delete it if there is a registration problem at a future date.

it took forever to download and activate, about 35 min. Then when I tired to open a picture that took another 15 min for it to open and analyze. I do not like that they want my phone number, it is an unlisted number. I will have to try the program next week when I am done my exam at college. I may not keep it. My computer is old and it was really freezing up during the wholething.

Decent for 'glamming things up'! I'm extremely proficient in Photoshop, and do touch ups by hand with a Wacom Pen, so I was skeptical.

I won't say this is perfect because one thing I like to do is really control things with layers, masks and opacity levels.

Installation and activation went off without a hitch.

I 'glammed' a photo up pretty quickly with this. And it's 'makeup' effects were spot on.

I had an issue with one photo where it was cropped above the mouth and the program would not open the image saying it could not find a face.

One thing that this does quite well is the 'slimming' of a face. Ever try to do that with Photoshop's liquify tool? Yeah, not so much....

It's nice that you can manually define focus points.

One HUGE error Arcsoft:
(And I've found this same issue with installing some Arcsoft software that came with an older camera or scanner....)

Do NOT start un-neesed services on my machine. EVER.

I had to go in and manually STOP the "Arcsoft Excahge Service" GRRRRR

All in all this is a decent program....do adjustments carefully or it'll be easy to go overboard, or if you're just having some fun glam it up to the hilt!

I most likely will be keeping this.

Side note - It would be nice if this program could open .psd files.

This compares favorably with a $100 program I have been running as a 30 day trial. I am impressed but I would look at giving it a more professional skin then get it reviewed by some photo magazines and finally make it usable as a photoshop plugin. That would also work with Elements and Lightroom to expand the market. I think that it would be a big hit with Elements users and Elements is a give away with many cameras and printers so it has a very large user base.

To successfully activate the program, please make sure that the activation information entered is accurate and there’s no blank/space before and after the Licensed Email/Activation Code. And please make your email address valid since the activation code is binding with your email addresss. I had NO problems with installation and activation on Win7Pro-64. Have only used it to make sure it's working poperly - seems fine so far.

I normally use Photoshop CS5. However, Perfect365 is very fast and very simple in action. It is definitely useful. I'm sure many people will appreciate its one-click menu options. The results are impressive, especially for the price.

Thankyou ArcSoft and GAOTD.

Thanks to ArcSoft + GOTD.
Excellent software for those who do not want to spend lots of time in Photoshop trying to do the same.
Great for photographers who like portrait shots.
Actually, I find the activation process EASY as long as one follows the stated instructions.

I could not go into my ArcSoft Account.
Because there was no message to me about what my ArcSoft Account "Password" should be.
ArcSoft told me they already created the Account for me.

Many thanks to David H comment #123 who informed how to get the additional templates. Yes, I got the templates after reading his post.

Well, like everyone else....the activation fail...why? hmm...maybe because its a trial (30 days) version and they want you to buy the full version instead, so for obvios reasons this is not the full version...Or.....they wanna catch you email because its a malware....0rrr they catch you email because they want to send you (very often) the new products from them...
Conclusion : This is NOT for free...its a 30 day trail version for FREE! enjoy!

To #66: I, too, could not get the login button to work in the Perfect 365 tab. Nor could I get the video to work in that tab. Perhaps the ArcSoft server is too busy, or there is a bug. BUT, if you close the "User Center" and then just try to download a picture, Perfect 365 seems to work.

Nice program. It would be fun if you could have negative options, to make people you don't like look like sh!t.

I had to register it twice, the second time I was told it was already registered. Also, Arcsoft's website shows "Download full version (expire after 30 days)" so I downloaded it but did I need to? Is this in case I want to re-install at some point? Or is it an upgrade that I would need to pay for?

My kids loved the software like a software to play... So my tips is:
Its not only a professional make up program.. Make it funnier and bring some teeths (like a dracula ones), make mans beautifull too, bring some options to cover the hair with new hair or hats...
Maybe some new fun presets would become cool too...

Just installed this (Win 7 64 bit) and had it installed and got activation code in about 3 minutes. Apparently, as has been already said (I think), it activated once it was installed and the "activation page" pulled up in my browser. I went ahead and put my email and activation code in, and got the "it's already activated" message. Fine - I closed the program and opened again - no problems and nothing else to do to activate.

I haven't tried this yet, just wanted to report back on activation as so many are having problems.

Sounds like a fun program - why not try it. BTW, I de-activated my anti-virus during install, as sometimes that mucks up the install.

Hope that helps - good luck.

Oh for "Smokey eyes"!:)) - How easy it was to doll-up my sister and myself, all on the same Photo, just moving our faces to "prime" view one at the time.

But seriously! - Last time (on November 13th this year) wnen ArcSoft was giving away it's PhotoStudio Software I was very unhappy to find out I couldn't use it, because it required either Nvidia, or ATI graphic display/accelerate drivers and main are Intel.

I've even commented here and made a wish ArcSoft could "cater" for all. I have been ArcSoft fan for long, long time, have my Account with them and in my previous PC life:) had no problem with any of their Software, until now..

Well, after seeing Today's Offer I thought - oh, dear, not for me any more, but.. took a chance and Bingo!! It works:)) (I run XP Pro, SP2, Intel graphics)

Perfect365 is indeed the best "makeup" aid for all those dull looking faces - on photos that is, lol.
Girls and Guys alike can have tremendous fun with it!

Thanks GAOTD and ArcSoft for this lovely Gift!:)

I don't like what it is installing in the background, withoutasking or explaining! OPHistory.exe, some background service, and I don't like the non-windows application windows, dialogs, and menus. It adds no value.

BUT, despite my "container" criticisms, the effects are simple to use, are fun, work, and made my wife look 10 years younger. The program is really quite clever, it doesnt just "smoothen" but analyses the face, finds the eyes, colours them, adds stronger and longer eyelashes, lifts the corners. It does a great job for an automated result. It would take a lot of time and patience to do this in photoshop.

A keeper.

Installed fine on WinXP. Click "Get Keycode Now", got activation code binding with my email. But the activation code fail to register with both the GOTD version and the one from ArcSoft Store.

#113 @Dean: you have to rename setup file from perfect365.exe to another name.

I've downloaded several GOTD software packages and this is the best yet. This is a timesaver when trying to retouch portraits that are being used in proposals, newsletters, etc. Easy to use and accurate. Thanks!

fubar,

it sounds like the +'s outweigh the -'s . I think I will give it a shot. Seems like a program I would get some use out of.

Also, I wanted to thank you for your help the other day. I had asked you about installation tracking software and you recommended SysTracerPro. I believe I will download the trial and if I like it buy it. Thanks again for this and all your input on this site.
